  1. I agree with most of the list but we are still comparing quite a few on potentially becoming better players and are not yet better. The challenge with Howe is which one are we going to re-sign or let go. Are we going to keep the Howe we drafted? The attacking HBF and driven HFF or averaged a goal and a bit a game (while we were filth) and was up amongst the league leaders in contested grabs? Although many say this Howe was still a 'one trick pony' its important to note that this trick is arguably the most difficult and most important one in the book. Or would we keep the Howe who cruises around doing sweet bugger all racking up less than 10 touches a game and playing like he is already gone? I'm a fan and believe that at his best he is easily a best 22 player. Its just whether or not he wants to be at his best with us. I'd be upset if he left but it might be a best case for all if that happens.
  2. Yarran is an interesting case. Has talent to burn and maybe in the right environment could flourish again. Look how Jeffy has become a favourite quite quickly. Would rather Roos take a punt and try to develop someone who has pace, aggression and skill then someone who only possesses one of the three attributes. Would rather him on our list than Michie or Newton.
  3. I have always been a big Kelly fan. Wouldn't be upset if we gave him a 1 year deal with the old 'play a certain amount of games for second year' clause similar to Crossy.
  4. Well done Jacky boy. Always been a big fan and wish you nothing but the best in the road to recovery. Hopefully he can dismiss the last couple years and return to the form he showed in his second year when he was really starting to look the goods. That said...... The Lever kid looks good as well
  5. Sounds like gout. Lay off the jars Frosty
  6. He reminds me a lot Viney in the way he attacks the pill but just has that extra polish. Would adore him at the dees as you can never have enough of there type. After having a quick look at footywire to get our heights and coming to realisation that Prestia's a midget, I noticed we still have some decent height around the pill when including flankers like Vanders, Watts & potentially Petracca. There are some decent sized lads there. Watts 196 Vandemon 188 Angus 187 Vince 186 Dom 186 Petracca 186 Trenners 185 Jones 180 Stretch 180 Viney 178 Prestia 175
  7. Watching the crows game and it's so obvious why we wanted Snake Lever. Having a wonderful rookie season so far. Has some serious swag to him also which i like
  8. Stoked to see VaDemon back in, really missed his aggression around the pill and he really frees up Jones, Vince & Tyson to spread. His body shape is how I wanted Mortons to look.... As his prescence. As for JKH, he needs to show a bit for me. Understand him coming in as our depth is tested (rather him over Bail, Matty J & Newton) but I struggle to see what others see when pumping him up. He isn't super skilled or super quick and I think Neal-Bullen has showed more in a similar role so far. If we ever get super lucky with our injury list and players find form would he get a gig over forwards Jeffy, Howe, Petracca, Trengove, Neal-Bullen and Kent? Goddard is to good a player to stink it up twice in a row. Also Zaharakis usually kills us so I'm not super confident like others but hold them, Bernie does a job on Heppell we should be ok
  9. He is worth more than that but it would be interesting to see what he actually is getting. Wasn't exactly flying at Carlton on or off the field when he came across. He's worth every penny he's getting here anyway
  10. Harsh. He took a big grab which was then given to Neal-Bullen as a free. Also made two other big contests. He has been fine
  11. Dusty is having a cracking year. Super strong and wonderfully skilled. Everything you want in a footballer. Wish we took him on when we had the chance.
  12. He's an absolute ripper and love watching him play.Who I hate watching is Rivers. Loved him as a player for us and it's hard watching him playing good footy at another team
  13. That's it, just those couple small moments in the game cost us. Watts fumble 25m straight in front early that turned into a Filth goal, Fitzys ridiculous tunnel ball attempt and Dunnys kick in shank all massively cost us. Unfortunately with Oxley, the only way we could man him up was to take away the spare man back in front of Cloke who played the best game for years... and WTF was with him kicking straight for once?? Anyway, lots of positives out of the day but still a bit devastated. Massive crush on young Gus. He will be special
  14. Feels like he has been around forever and only just notching up 50. Hopefully the form stays up and he makes it to 100 in the big time. For a guy who's only played 50 games he would have a very impressive highlights package. Some big pack marks, some bone crunching tackles and I remember a goal last year (or the one before) where he had 4 or 5 bounces down a wing vs GWS and slotted it from 50. I think there was an article last year saying he was completing all of this while still working part time at Bunnings supporting his young family. Great work and congratulations Cam!
  15. I can understand the allure of Howe for some highlights and Garland as a solid medium defender. Not sure what they would do with Dawes however, he'd be about fifth in line for a forward spot there
  16. I completely forgot about the Hoff when stating that Fitzy might be unlucky as well. This match should have some really great one on one battles. Dunn vs Schulz. I think Dunny got the chocolates last year. T Mac vs Westhoff. Both players are fantastic runners, should be a great contest. Fitzy vs Lobbe/Ryder when resting. A good chance for Fitz to showcase his ability against more mature players and prove his worth. Nev (if in) vs the Chad. Also, guessing that Vince will go to Robbie Gray who's in cracking form.
  17. I think Fitzy could be unlucky just based on match ups. Other than Schultz, which McDonald will take (and Dunn did a good job on last year) there aren't many other Power talks that would suit him. Fitzy honestly shocked me with how well and he played and I couldn't be happier but I think he might struggle to get a game this weekend due to there small classy (when on) forwards. Nev coming in is a must for a role.
  18. He's agreed to play three games up here in Mildura at his home club Merbein later this year as well. A few boys are already working on a bit of lip.
  19. And to think some people thought we had 'depth' Still no one can be to disappointed with the changes noting Pedersen hardly impacted, Watts hasn't impacted & Newton isn't getting enough of the pill or damaging enough with it. As for JKH, I know he is injured but somtimes it looks like he is afraid of his own shadow. The guys coming in we know aren't superstars but they are the best out of what we have available and they will all have a crack at least. Hawks by 45
  20. I really wish our next few games had us up against the lions and blues. Take advantage of them while they are at there worst
  21. Good report mo64 and glad you have provided a point of view on the players, makes interesting reading. Not defending players or having a dig at you however it's hard to judge really how effective the player was without knowing the specific role. We aren't playing a team of 22 identical players who are just trying to get as much of the pill and use it effectively as possible and competing on stats. For all we know Pedo was instructed not to leave the F50 and provide a target there. Terlich might have been the lock down defender for the first half as well. Him not getting any touches but holding his man to bugger all may have been more valuable to the team than him getting 30 but his man getting 15 and kicking 3. Anyways, without knowing they may have just been sh!t on the day.
  22. Dee-liciois you are a superstar for your reports so far. Appreciating the great work. Cheers mate
  23. Great opening ceremony. Really well done, loved it. Go dees
  24. Murph is a good number two midfielder. He needs Judd firing to play his best. He will never be the number one man and that's ok, just have to realise hes never going to win a Charlie. Still hes a very important player and I'd take him in a heart beat. Free him from the captaincy and the shocking politics he'd have to listen to at the blues each week and he will be back to his best asap. Imo he's a better player than Vince and we all sing Bernies praise week after week. I wouldn't trade our first rounder for him but if he was up for offer I'd go hard. Out starting 22 this week is the best I have seen it for a while. I'd still pick him before 19 of them
  25. I am clearly to bias as on paper I like our team so much more than what the tiges have put together. Dawes and Hogan would be licking there lips with Chappy out. I rate Rance massively and it will be interesting who he goes to. We all think it will be Jesse and I agree. Whoever doesn't get him would want to perform big time! Hopefully we play a very attacking game and get it forward quick as they look very soft down back. Vince to Cotch, Cross to Dusty (if he turns up), Watts redeems himself with 4, Jeffy starts kicking straight, McDonald proves he's as good as Frawley and holds Jack goal-less and we are up.
