  1. I'm rolling with the complete opposite type of player in Jetta and saying big Maximus. I liked how last year he played a big part of the year in the twos where he developed his skills as a forward and showed some great improvement at clunking a mark. Not sure whats going on with his rig at the moment. Is he having some any off season nip/tuck? Hopefully he isn't for once and is good to go right away and can get through possibly his first. Quite happy for him to continue his steady improvement and play the third forward then backing up the Rush for a little bit each quarter.
  2. I just think key forwards are way to risky and we have been burnt before. Everything should be about the midfield and we desperately need more quality. The better quality of the mids the better the forwards will look. I'd rather establish a first class midfield then look to poach a key forward once they are a few years in so at least then we will know if they are a dust buster or not instead of rolling the dice again.
  3. Now if thats not the pot calling the kettle black than I dont know what is!!
  4. You're right. We all know it was Watts fault. The end
  5. I love the talk on this topic where some polarising opinions are expressed. At times I loved Brock. He played a cracker in a final, he donated cash, he came across like he loved the club and believe he did. Then at times the feelings were opposite when he couldn't shut his trap on the couch or seeing him completely out of his mind at Revolver a couple times on a Sunday arvo where he could barely speak. This during the season. I feel the bad's always outweighed to goods with him but was surprised at his delisting. Was a smokey for there B&F last year and played quite a few great games this year also. At 29 surely has to still be a d!ckhead to get delisted after his last 2 years.
  6. Id rather the trade than to lose him all together. Rather not risk it. Welcome big Frosty.
  7. I wonder what could have been with Howe under a decent coach who could develop players. In his first couple seasons I can remember a few games when he was picking up 20 odd touches and kicking a couple goals. A few bags of three here and there. Then going back this year he was ok also even though not once in his life as he ever been played as a backman, Not sure why so many are keen to see him gone. One of the most natural footballers we have on our list who can play forward and back we now know. I'd say he is a 100% keep for mine
  8. Great video. Looks like a natural footballer who can take a good grab and moves well. Interesting that he could/would be used as a midfielder after playing most juniors as a backman. As long as p2 & 3 go on the best midfield talent available (and Lever fits in this) then brilliant! Get him in. If we pick up a McCartin or Wright I would be a little bit devastated as can't be bothered in investing in talls anymore.
  9. I'm quite happy I am not in control of the trades here. I'm getting itchy trade fingers which sees both Cooney and Robinson looking better and better by the minute. Help me Josh Mahoney, I need a hit.... just one little hit
  10. I think the Pies have lost honestly. Beams is an absolute star and Lamumba (or whatever his name is) I believe was an All- Australian. Varcoe is average at best, Greenwood has had one good year but I think will be a solid citizen, pick 5 and Crisp are unknowns. I'd be filthy if I was a scum supported
  11. Well he is stuffed now as his foots buggered again. Just read on the MFC web page
  12. Thank god. I read 'little lone' and thought I may have been completely shanking the saying 'let alone' for 30 years!
  13. Could be right, could be wrong. No reason to think they are pulling my leg however but will see.
  14. Not sure if its been mentioned on the 101 pages so far, but I believe that Dangers old man is on the crows recruitment staff or has been offered a role in a deal similar to Scully's old man. Just learnt this today and thought it was a interesting
  15. Good work HH on providing that, quite happy to be put back in my box here I can't stand the blues, easily my most hated team so never watch when they are on. For some reason I had thought he was a bit of a skirt when the games got heated and looking at the above 4 from 5 decent games is a good effort. Cheers
  16. My only concern with Jeffy is how will he go in a tough, physical, final. I can't see him having much of an impact in a really physical game. Our mitigant here I suppose is that he mightn't be playing in one for a while.
  17. Hopefully it takes young JKH under those hunge wings of his and they create some excitement
  18. Definitely not the worst news I have heard as surely we are due to nail a top end pick this time. Best two mids for me, Petracca and Brayshaw. Surely one of the two will become a quality player (I remember writing the same about Sculldog/Trenners). Can't see the interest in McCartin at all from what I have, just looks like an ok to good key forward. Nothing spectacular. Also, I'm not massive on spending high picks on talls as they are definitely riskier. I'd rather us having the best mids in the country at the dees and then see which key fowards are decent down the track in which we can poach instead of once again running the gauntlet in the draft
  19. Is it just me or does Cooney get mentioned every year come trade time? Didn't have his best year last season but I'm very interested in what the offer would be for him. Maybe just wants out and needs a change of environment or maybe he's just a pain in the backside who the doggies want to get rid of. Wouldn't be the worst addition if his body is up to it and if the price was right
  20. Posted in the 'Draft Combine' thread about a chat I had with Kevin Sheehan about the Toump yesterday. Basically said, every team in the comp would have taken him where we did and most were shocked GWS didn't grab him. Also said that some players however just hit there peak early while young and its completely impossible to pick this that they might hit the big league with no improvement left in them (first thought of mine was Scully). But he believes that with his hips on the mend he will be a fine player sometime soon. edit. Also, just cause I'm going to be a tool here, Brad Johnson just drools over Ollie Wines. Think's he's the best thing ever
  21. Also on this quickly, Sheehan said he believes Mason Cox will play senior footy in the near future as he is picking up the game amazingly quick. And finally every team should be desperate to sign up the 3 or 4 irish boys at the combine as there testing is brilliant and they can be signed as international rookies still.
  22. So, as apart of working at NAB I was lucky enough to spend the day at Etihad yesterday and got to do all the testing for a bit of fun. Got there early for a look and have to say, love the look of Petracca. No idea if he can play or not but he's that protege big arsed midfielder who walks with a lot of swag. Very excited to see him play for whoever gets him next year. The only thing worth noting was watching the kicking drill, the boy Garlett has fantastic skills both sides. Some of the kids really shanked it on the opposites and he was a star. On other notes, got a solid 15min chat with Kevin Sheehan and I had to ask him a couple quick questions. First one was around Toumpas and what his thoughts were why he might be struggling. He said that some kids just unfortunately hit there ceiling when 18 years old and he mightn't continue to get better like others around him have however its impossible to tell where he is at after his hip issues. He said every team would have taken him at our pick and has faith he will be a really good player. Asked him what we will do with our picks and he thinks similar to last year in the Dom Tyson trade. Said this year there is little difference between picks 4 and 20. The end of the day we spent with Brad Johnson who was an absolute star to talk with. Full of energy, running around having a kick with us country plebs. Asked Brad about free agency and he said it obviously works both ways with the dogs nearly going all the way with Hall and Aker but it was different then as now the players clearly have all the power. Said he is worried for the Saints, Dees and Dogs retaining quality players and thinks there is danger of clubs like ours will be nothing more than teams that attract mercenaries in the near future. Finally, I think the combine results are a bit of a [censored]. I tested in the high quartile in the 20m sprint, agility and the standing jump. Was in the mid/high quartile in skills however as a footballer am a genuine dust buster and rarely ever got a touch and would be playing twos in the bush if I was still playing. Lots of people put to much emphasis on these kind of days and forget about genuine footballers in Priddis, Mitchell and Swan's of the world.
  23. I'm at the draft camp now having a look and wow Petracca is a unit! Has that big backside big leg look and looks very sharp. I'd put some photos up but feel like a creep taking them
  24. Him on one flank with Malceski on the other. Trade one for Clark (who we all thought retired anyways getting us no return) and the other as an unrestricted free agent. Still leaves is with a couple top picks and a decent f/s. Make it happen Dees
