  1. Bate has been off most of the first quarter getting some work on the hammy just snuck on. Fitzy has taken three of four grabs around the ground playing in the ruck with the mountain of a man Campbell
  2. I believe the great man was the quickest ever to 50 and tied with Coleman to 100
  3. I am quite confident that most players do have income earning job's outside of there AFL commitments. It is impossible for the AFL to include this external income under the salary cap otherwise it would penalise players for external interests. If someone could employ Tom maybe a couple days a week for a sneaky little $300k - $400k p.a. I would be greatly appreciative!
  4. The doggies midfield is A Grade when you look at Boyd, Griffen, Cooney and the lesser extent Cross. They out thought and out muscled our younger boys all night. I think our hard bodied mid fielders are just to up and down. I love Jones' efforts at times but he needs to tackle and not bump as much. The difference between Moloney's best and worst is huge (although you cannot doubt his endeavour) and he has become to reliant on the russsian. Our potential future elite midfield of Scully, Trenners & Gysberts could match it with the Lions and Cats at the best, right now they just get steam rolled against the hard bodies. They can hold on for a quarter or 2 but then there samller bodies just give. Cooney didnt even bother running around players last night, just at them knowing he could break through (ala Queens bithday again) I don't understand why Col was not given a crack in the midfield more? Was he injured? He has the strength and class in there to match it with the best. People are so quick to give him stick noting his first quiet game for a while but its hard to make an impact when the forward 50 cant get the pill.
  5. Players talking to media and stating what they think and feel instead of reading from a standard script. Kicking the ball long for big pack marks by the champion forwards Carey, Lockett, Dunstall and the excitement machines Modra, Schwarz, Richo and of course Jacko (couldnt resist) instead of the keepings off game that is played today. Then watching the news Sunday night with massive interest in the race towards 100 goals. The shirt front/bump is gone. And of course the biggest lament on the modern game..... a player getting 3 weeks for a fair tackle
  6. He is eye candy for the girls, thats it. One thing I like about him is that he has been a big advocate of Watts since the beginning and often refers about the unrealistic expectations placed upon him. He gave him another pump up on the radio yesterday again.
  7. I was at the Central Murray Grand Final (Swan Hill) last year and in fine vocal form when Jordie walked passed with a few of his mates. Yelled out to him while waiving like an idiot and he turned had a laugh and waived back. Was out that night at one of the local's and he walked up behind me and patted me on the back and asked how I'm going and had a chat. He is such a genuinely great bloke, his mates had abandoned him (they were off talking to a couple pieces of local talent) so he came over to have a drink with me even though he was on the softies. I asked why he wasn't trying to get amongst some girls as well figuring surely he would drop the "I play AFL line" but his response while giggling to himself was, "look at me mate, as if I have a chance.... im a ranger!" For someone who seemed so quiet and a little bit shy, his asggresion at the footy is amazing! Definite man crash material.... if you like rangers
  8. Eddie on Triple M this morning commented on it saying he believes it was a joke of a decision which was back by Darcy. The slinging concept is more a cause of the players being tackled constantly dropping there knees trying for the 'in the back' free kick its just that the elevation and head contact made it so worse. If anything, the AFL should give the MCG turf a couple weeks for the negligent contact to the head.
  9. That is true, Eddie came out and announced it that he in very confident Scully has signed at well over a mil per year. Eddie also said that if he was on the footy show he would be listing it as the story of the year, as it is detroying rebuilding clubs like ours Not the best way to start the day.
  10. Have to agree Dazzle, for some reason lots of people have a soft spot for him as I do.... except I don't understand why I do at all. Just hope he realises his talent, maybe gets a bit of mongrel about him, realises that he is a fairly sized unit and starts to take the game for once!! I thought moving him to the backline was a great move (even though it was an exhibition game) and he might be made accountable instead of roaming around looking lost like he usually does. Hopefully the backline creates some intensity in his game for once!
  11. Its hard watching that knowing the season is still so far away.... gotta love the Jurrah-cane!! Who took that kick in for us at 1.51 in?? Rated at 0 stars
  12. What about Ricky to come back in as the defensive forward allowing Dunnny in??
  13. Thats most of the team mate listing players who already make a big impact in the side. I think priority one should be just getting the players like Wonna, Jurrah & Grimes through a full preseason who haven't before. I'd like to see some players like Blease, Tapscott & Gawn have any impact and just get on track!! Heres hoping some luck for the boys
  14. Some glowing reports from wikipedia (the gospel for the lazy researchers) stating that in 2007 he was the number 1 ruckman in the league in reference to hit outs to advantage. Ticks an important box
  15. Hey peeps, read lots of Demonland threads but never had the urge to take up a discussion till the great 'Jacko' was brought up, he was my hero growing mainly due to him being simply a loose cannon. Was trying to find out more about hi a while ago when I stumbled on this story from the Ox (story is dated back in 2007) enjoy "Yesterday a bloke calls up SEN and asked David Schwarz what’s Allen Jakovich up to these days.....Ox mentions he’s running a fishing charter company up on the Gold Coast and is a recluse or something along those lines.....then proceeds to tell a story..... In Allen's contract, he was allocated $10,000 every year worth of Puma gear and when he came first time to collect he took all $10,000 straight off the bat.....the idea was to take a little bit each time so your always decked out in the newest products Puma has to offer, but Allen took it all in one hit and was suspected of taking the clothes then selling them down at a market or somewhere else. The next year same thing, comes in grabs all $10,000 straight up.....so one of the Melbourne Football Club Executives or someone along those lines followed him to see what he was up to.....turns out he followed him right to the Royal Children’s Hospital where Jakovich was handing out all the clothes to the kids."
