  1. I was a bit of a Ben Newton fan last season when he was on the fringe and kicked a coupla sausage rolls for us. This season I've nearly forgot he exists with everyone else tearing it up for the Scorps. We have definitely had an amazing run with injury this year. Very lucky stuff but also the fitness/medical staff deserve some congrats also
  2. I agree with the general point Red but during the last few years it would have been incredibly hard to get a player to agree on a trade to us. Im sure if options were available that were rumoured we definitely would have traded some picks. This time however it feels like our selections were a bit more solid.... Or so far anyways. Im a massive Jaeger fan, even his name sounds cool. But definitely not worth rolling the dice on for me unless with was for some player/s who desperately wanted out which I can't see being the case
  3. Exactly it. Im a ANB fan but I can't see him reaching potential highs that many others could reach. Also he had currency. I like the kid but if he was on the table for a best 22 player I wouldn't think twice in sending him on his way
  4. I really can't imagine a WA born and bred kid who's already a superstar of the comp wanting to move across the country. It feels like more of a gentle nudge/threat to ensure that he does receive the best possible deal from Freo going forward and for him not to be taken advantage of financially for being loyal. Surprised when I read he was a massive tiges fan growing up who hated the dockers and didn't want to go there when he was drafted. Still, can't see him ever leaving there now. He's a local superstar
  5. I think the face palm is around trading (when not needing to) for someone who is a free agent..... Or I'm completely missing something
  6. DC it's going to happen when players are charging at the ball at the speed they go at. If the contact was to the scone it's a whole different scenario and they have to get weeks. Cyril plays on the edge every game and hits harder than everyone else which made it look worse than it is. In my opinion if Clarry had disposed of it and was hit afterwards or hadn't taken possession at all I'd be calling for his head but the ball was there and impacts will happen. The really tough players will charge in and tackle front on. Imo that's one of the bravest things you can do, not this but it still doesn't mean I don't mind seeing s good bump now and then
  7. The bump was fantastic and is a great part of our game. Plus it woke Clarry up and he played a cracker. I'm happy it didn't get weeks. If it was vice versa and Clarry steam rolled Rioli we would have already built a statue out the front of the G to worship our new ginger haired God.
  8. Hogan will play if fit. He's arguably our best player. Teams aren't going to give a Riewoldt or Kennedy a game in the twos after a 'depth' player comes in and plays well. I'm a big fan of Cam in the way he goes about it, seems to be hard at the contest with good mits. Have a big soft spot for him for some unknown reason but he really is just a depth utility player and he surely knows this also. He would add more value right now than the Weed but with the season pretty much cooked lets get the Weed up and about with some game time now to set up a big pre season. In: Hogan (obviously) Out: Pedo (sadly for me) Our forward line seemed to function well without Jesse in it last weekend with players lowering there eyes but calls from leaving him out because of this is a bit silly. After all, he's the not the one bombing it into himself continually out numbered. If anything there should be more numbers available when lowering the eyes when he is double and triple teamed. Garlett I'd keep in. Always struggles vs Hawks and I'm sure he will bounce back. Dont feel the love others have for Kennedy. Not fussed if he stays in the twos
  9. I just worry that say if GWS was top of the ladder for the next 8 years with there plethora of young talent that no one from 2-6 will be able to top up with free agents to challenge. The AFL does so much now to try and equalise things that they either continue shooting themselves in the foot or successful clubs continue to find ways to manipulate the system. In all sports there are destination teams that continue jagging the best players and sponsorships each year. We just have to harden up and become one.

I agree with ANB and Trenners being straight in if injury occurs. I'm a fan of both and feel ANB will offer more going forward especially seeing the amount of ball he gets at present. I'm guessing that these two could be on the block during the off season as they both offer some decent currency. More than Grimes and Dawesy anyway. I wouldn't like to lose ANB or Trenners but would have no hesitation if trading them got us back in the high end of the draft or helped us jag a key position defender. Its a ruthless game building a quality list
  11. Hmm you're making it sound like they are completely cooked. They are still premiership favourites and were a couple clear on top of the ladder after winning a few straight. They are still a hugely popular destination club and once Hodge/Mitchell/Burgoyne I guarantee they will jag the best available free agents and continue topping up. No way will they be a "rubbish team" for a fair while to come.... Unfortunately
  12. I know he's been injured this year but I am disappointed that Fyfe wasn't selected somewhere. Other than that this looks fine to me. Also, harsh on Terls, I'd have him on the ground somewhere. Doesn't matter where, he will get it done
  13. I think Aish has put the Toumpas comparisons to bed tonight
  14. 6. Watts. Nothing more needs to be said 5. Tyson. Another really good inside mid game. Great hands in close and a couple nice kicks. Yes got caught badly once but looked to be the only mid who held his own against a team of nobodies 4. Frost. No goals from the other two talls for the Suns plus some great rebounding runs. Love his pace and competitiveness 3. VDB. I think he is still better as a mid but has solid hands over his head which is why he is played as 4th tall most game then rotates through for bursts. In form is best 22 bur probably didn't deserve to be there this week but showed us all why he is rated 2. Gawn. Should have polled higher but have no idea where he was tapping the pill today. Hit Suns boys a bit to frequently but was still solid 1. T-Mac. odd I know but I rate Lynch so highly. Would have him over any other forward in the league and Tommy ran with him all game and held him to two.
  15. If Hoges doesn't get up I'd like to see Hullett get a run before the Weed as I think he's done a bit more this season. Cant drop Vince as he is still is one of our most important players but I'm sure he will get a solid talking to about minimum acceptable actions for next week. Matt J genuinely spreads well and if he could kick he'd be a genuinely decent winger. But continually missing targets uncontested 25m away is unforgivable and he never hits the scoreboard. At his age it's not going to click now. He's given his all but for the rest of the season is rather see if Kennedy or Neal-Bullen can play that role.
  16. I thought Cams start of the year this season was better than anything Dawes has produced for us to date. Id rather Pedo as I think he plays both a key forward role better than Dawes, rucks better and can occasionally go doe back to assist. Not saying he does any of these that well but I think he does them better than Dawes. I thank Dawesy for coming to us when we were shot and I'm sure he gave his all but really, as a recruit he's been a massive failure imo
  17. Well that's what Frawley said straight from his mouth. I've got no reason to post bs on here. Just a story from Spud
  18. We had a sportsmanship lunch with Spud Frawley and Brian Lake in Mildura on Wednesday and Spud talked a bit about Jacko. He said there was no way it was staged and that he's a full lunatic. Also said that Sheahan was extremely shaken after it in which the producer and a couple others took him out for a few beers afterward to relax a little. Spud told the story of why the saints kicked him out. Wasn't for the 'brick under the brake pedal' (although it was clearly a starting point) but it was for the damage he did to Lockett in what I think was a praccy match. Spuds story goes something like Jacko knew this Lockett kid was going to take his spot soon even though in this match Lockett was in the pocket and Jacko at FF. Apparently during the game a high ball was kicked into the forward line which Jacko could have went for but Lockett courageously slid in front taking a grab. Instead of stopping Jacko dove knees first into Locketts back and slid across him which prevented Lockett continuing and stuffed his back for a couple weeks. There was no need for it and about half a dozen Saints players had a go at him on the spot. I think it was a practice match but I had a few pots in me for the exact details but after that playing group wouldn't have anything to do with him.
  19. Terls again! Get around the great man!
  20. Seems very light amd gets out bodied easily and has been today by Tom Lee. I think he has been a bit fumbly as well. Id have Hullet above him at the moment but Pedo above them both still
  21. Yes but its nearly impossible for a key forward in the windy conditions
  22. I wouldnt like to be a key forward developing at Casey. Almost impossible to judge the high wind. Loving Kieltys (no idea how to spell it) game he has been great!
  23. Although that wont be happening I do like seeing Terlich play well and always smile when he does something good. He has definitely made an ok career out of the skills he was given
  24. Have to keep Brayshaw in, thought he did some great things yesterday and of course still had a couple shanks. A couple of his kicks dropped 1-2m short of there targets which is unusual but he will better for the run. He will be a wonderful player for us long terms so I'd rather get more games into him. I don't want many/any changes other than getting Clarry in and keeping ANB in. I'd rather play our kids more especially when coming up against other young teams
