  1. Fresh legs need to be a priority. After both games where we've had the short turnaround, we've seen our defensive structure fall apart and goals out the back become a massive problem. This week's selection is huge.
  2. 6 Gawn 5 Vince 4 Tyson 3 Jones 2 Frost (looks so at home down back) 1 Tmac
  3. Dawes was ok, worked hard and led up the ground all day. Needs a crack in the dry for us to find out where he's really at.
  4. Pumped! What a legend this guy is. Hope he plays well and snags a goal for good measure.
  5. Plenty of solid leaders who have stood up at crucial stages this year. Namely, Viney, Watts, Vince and Jones. Losing a football match doesn't automatically equal an absence of leadership.
  6. Over reaction. Let the kids learn what is an exciting and attacking game plan. Playing man on man will get us nowhere in the long term.
  7. Wouldn't think twice. Get it done.
  8. Would have liked more changes. I hope I'm wrong but I get the feeling our zone will fall apart as it did against the Saints. Just don't think we're utilising our whole list to best effect.
  9. Yeah, goalside of the centre bounce or stoppage. Both midfields running the gaunlet.
  10. Gawn is not winning ruck contests or getting the ball around the ground - is it tiredness or form? I'd say tiredness.
  11. I love it. We back our mids in and attack. It will come unstuck fairly often now but as the team develops it could be a major srength. The alternative is to go man on man and score 60 points a game. The thing I noticed during the Brisbane game is that our mids generally play in offensive positions at centre stoppages, knowing that the half backs have the other side covered. Towards the end of the game, the half-backs for whatever reason weren't there and Brisbane were outnumbering 4 to one on their side of the contest. We got away with it through Brisbane's complete lack of skill and our contested work but for this to function properly, those half backs have to reach the contest very quickly. It's a bold strategy and I hope we hold our nerve and continue to refine it.
  12. Can't believe we're being talked up as clear favourites for this one. Port are playing ok and pushed a good side last week. I hope we can get the job done but feel they just have us covered on form. Agree with others that Gawn needs a rest but would want to be sure Jake is ready to run out a full game with little help.
  13. Don't care so much who comes in, just want to see lots of changes. Fresh legs for the short turnaround. Roos' presser suggests they might be leaning that way too. At least four changes should give us a chance.
  14. not really a creative pursuit, but yeah, not an overly confident set shot at this stage.
  15. Don't know if it has been discussed, but I think Watts was fantastic as second ruck. What a bonus that could be going forward!
  16. I don't mind the selections but can't see any player on the list capable of giving Maxy a chop out. Will be interesting.
  17. I don't think either of those players will go. I have the feeling Roos rates Garland and I think if Dunn can regain touch and fitness, he can be a very valuable leader down back. At worst, a very handy depth option if we recruit another key back.
  18. Firstly, Hogan had a bad day. That's it. Second, that zone is the reason we've been able to move the ball better, we need to continue to improve our ability to implement it, not throw the baby out with the bath water.
  19. Like most clubs, we don't play man on man.
  20. 6. Jetta 5. Viney 4. Tyson 3. Vince 2. T.Mcdonald 1. Stretch
  21. We're just not quite executing the game plan. Teams who are quick on the spread will continue to get in behind us until we get it right. I feel like we adapted well after 1/4 time and the boys worked their bums off. Would love one extra quality defender with a bit of bulk (Frawley anyone?) but think we can build with what we have with a little more strength, consistency and faith in each other.
  22. Effort was first rate. They were just too strong in the tackle and much quicker on the spread. We're nearly there but not quite.
