  1. Hasn't proved himself at AFL level yet. Got on the end of a few against Geelong last year but really hasn't shown much yet. That said, his form has warranted selection for a month or so and I look forward to seeing if he can bring something when his chance comes.
  2. Gawn was mighty in the north game but his contested marking against geelong last year just pips its, I reckon. Can't disagree with much else.
  3. This is the biggest test so far this season. Give us good conditions and let's see where we're at.
  4. This may have been covered but headgear does very little for an injury that occurs internally ie. An impact between brain and skull.
  5. Yeah, I don't get this one. He's not a huge possession winner but he is hungry around the footy and creative when he gets it. Even in the games he's been really quiet, it's been hard to fault his endeavour or point to any glaring mistakes he's made. I've really enjoyed his contribution and hope it continues.
  6. We are still struggling around half back. We need Salem back asap. The cracks get painted over while we're smashing teams in the middle but we need as much quality decision making and disposal as we can get back there. Salem has these attributes in spades.
  7. Harmes. By a mile. Petracca is getting better but still needs to catch up to the pace of the game.
  8. Be better than Viney, Jones, Vince, Oliver et al. Alternatively, he could kneecap one of them in the car park after training but it's highly unorthodox.
  9. He's in. http://m.afl.com.au/news/2016-05-05/demons-upgrade-rookie
  10. Afl website. Has been upgraded. http://m.afl.com.au/news/2016-05-05/demons-upgrade-rookie
  11. I agree. I'd also add that we don't need to overdo the changes/additions. Our list is fairly well balanced, we just need to let the seed grow.
  12. Nah. One of the gun backmen of the comp.
  13. I think there was a fair few on here who were able to foresee it. Of course it looks like they're all flat because they're shouldering the load for the 2 or 3 who didn't show up for whatever reason.
  14. It's the domino effect. 2 or 3 players can make the whole group look silly by not playing their role. Selection as well as overall effort played a part against the Saints.
  15. I agree with this but I also think the seeds were sown a bit earlier. We had no balance in our list in terms of age and lost way too many experienced players at once. Though we were semi-successful during the late 90's/early 2000's, the list management during that period showed little foresight and went a fair way to setting us up for what was to come.
  16. Yeah mate, live and breathe music. You play?
  17. Maybe. Nik Nat was a bit of an unknown quantity at that stage. Martin and Gawn are both in their prime, it would be virtually impossible to maintain.
  18. No team can maintain two All-Australian level ruckmen and both Gawn and Martin seem to be the type of guys that thrive on their own
  19. 6. Hogan 5. N. Jones 4. Viney 3. Watts (his contested efforts were great) 2. Vince 1. Jetta Our back 6 has been unfairly maligned after this game. We just need to show intensity around the ball otherwise it makes our attacking press look really stupid. I reckon they'll ring in the changes a week late but with the longer break, I hope they give the same blokes a shot at redemption.
  20. All this bashing of the defence is ridiculous. This is the system we are playing and it relies on intensity around the ball and sticking tackles. The boys looked really tired from the opening bounce and our press then became a liability. I think it's a credit to our recruiting in recent years that we were able to hang in there while playing with little energy. So yeah, I agree with the op.
