  1. Darren Gaspar. It was about 300k - huge at the time.
  2. Send Daniel Rioli to the Suns and see how many games he wins off his own boot. Martin is a gun and comparing him to Rioli is an insult.
  3. No matter what kernels of truth may or may not exist in what this guy says, he is nothing more than a troll. He says what he needs to say to deliver clicks, shares, comments and other engagement to his employer.
  4. If he continues to play at the level he played at for the last 7-8 games of 2019, he'll be very valuable. Yes, he has the potential to be much more than that but I do think he's unfairly maligned at times. Either way, I'm glad he plays for us.
  5. So what you (and a few others) are saying is that unless a person had some kind of role at Richmond, don't even bother? It's a yawn from me.
  6. Don't disagree with much you've said and if Frost was still playing for us on a contract befitting of a depth player, I'd be a happy supporter.
  7. I expect both of these guys to be really solid, hard-working players that will help the side improve its consistency across 4 qtrs through hard running. The recruiting team should be congratulated. They targeted these guys a long way out and got it done with a minimum of fuss. If we can get our hands on a really good small fwd or two, this ship will turn around in no time. Bring on 2020.
  8. Surely, you can't expect them to manage the list with the expectation that they'll all be injured? I like Frosty, he was fun to watch but offering him 3 years on decent money isn't sensible list management. Also, he wasn't sacked - that's hyperbole. He was offered a sensible contract and chose to leave. IMO, he made a good decision for his career but so did Melbourne, in terms of list management and player payments.
  9. Needs to be put in perspective. He had a solid year but certainly hasn't proven he can do it consistently. In my mind, he'd be every chance to have a poor year next year. Also, he's not going to be ahead of a fit May or Lever which means he would fit somewhere between last defender picked and a fringe player - you don't usually offer 3+ years to that type of player. Yes, Hawthorn has offered him 3 years but they don't have May and Lever. Lastly, the comparisons with OMac are ridiculous - OMac is contracted and has zero value on the trade table. We are cashing in our chips on an unpredictable player. I think that's sensible in the circumstances.
  10. Would be a great pickup if available. We need as many forward options as we can get.
  11. But we were once it's 'pet basketcase' and received the same treatment. Isn't this just sour grapes?
  12. Tim Smith actually missed a few chances and could have had 5-6 goals.
  13. I'm a glass half full kinda guy but whichever way you dice it, we aren't playing finals. I have us winning 9 and I reckon that might be a little generous on current form.
  14. The latest Cal Twomey Phantom draft seems to have missed our first pick (23) or am I missing something? http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-11-20/callum-twomeys-2018-phantom-draft
  15. Expectations are high here. Not saying they are wrong but it's scary to think how the fan base will react if things don't go to plan. We need consistency and stability. I'll be happy with a similar H&A result to this year, in what is a highly competitive league.
  16. Tom Scully left because he wanted a career. He'd have ended up on the scrap heap with the rest of them had he stayed. I'd have him back in a heartbeat.
  17. This guy makes outrageous claims on a weekly basis. The law of averages suggests he'd get one right eventually.
  18. Listened live. Sounds as though Hunt will play unless he's foxing.
  19. Criticism of Jones is ridiculous. He's having the exact impact we need from him. He's a good decision maker who wins the majority of contests he attends. Perhaps not as creative as say, Clarry, but then again, who is? There are plenty of areas of improvement to discuss without worrying about a high-performing club great!
  20. A half-fit Hogan is better than anyone we could bring in. Yes, he looks like he's struggling but he draws multiple defenders and gives the rest of our forward line some breathing space. Has to play if not seriously injured.
  21. This game will be tough. A vastly different team to the one we played earlier in the year. Our midfield will need to look after our defence for 120 minutes, otherwise, Walker, Lynch, Jenkins and possibly Betts will get a hold of our back line. Win, lose or draw, I'll continue to back em' in but this game is pretty close to being do or die. Let's go Dees!
  22. Brayshaw works hard, is tough and knows how to find it. He's not as slick in tight as Oliver (who is?) or Trac. I'm glad we have them both but if I had to choose, I'd take Trac. His time will come.
  23. I heard this comment on SEN and didn't think he was suggesting that we wait to bring him back.
  24. Nothing changes for me. I'll keep watching and hoping the wheel turns eventually - not much more I can do.
