  1. Fair point well made. I guess he also gave Jones the opertunity to be our no 1 go to mid, where Bailey had preferred Moloney
  2. Davey has gotten back to the required fitness, not improved as a player. I'd give that win to mission, not Neeld. I'd say the only player to improve under Neeld is Nathan Jones
  3. No i dont mean like the Ox I mean guys Shane Woewodin or Jr McDonald - guys who have spent their time coaching, not lapping up the media spotlight Not saying we make the FD a old boys club, but I think Worsfold and Sumich did so well at West Coast becasue the players and the whole club lapped up every word they said. There is no problems getting a team to 'buy in' when past greats of the club are telling the message. Woey or Jr can have Chocko's job any day of the week IMO
  4. Its a nice thought, but i'll believe it when i see it. I believe Stevo said a Choco Williams / Jr McDonald combo would be an easy sell to members I do think the club needs some people in the FD who have played for us though, and who are actually passionate about what the jumper means (or did mean....)
  5. Didnt read the post. too distracted by display pic
  6. Reckon they might go tall? Gawn, Fitzy and Dawes in the forward line? Who have the Pies got to play on them? I understand we will struggle to kick it down to them very often, but the Pies dont have much in the way of tall backs do they? Reid, Brown and Maxwell? Hardly tall enough for gawn AND Fitz? Worth a punt at this stage i reckon!
  7. Moloney is better than almost all of our midfielders. Regardless of whether he can shake a tag or stands up in big games.
  8. FWIW i'd hope every melbounre supporter going to the game participates in the Walk to the G, regardless of whether you are star struck by the playing group and blind to reality like Satyricon, or bitter and twisted about previous admins like yourself
  9. I dont know too much about him to be honest, but when he was moved from being an assistant to the manager role i saw it as recognition that he's a great bloke and good to keep around the club, but not a coach .....
  10. i'd be happy for it to be a year by year thing with Aaron. He's no worse than some of the old guys we signed up this year
  11. Wins. Look at our draw, we have no excuse not to win a couple of games. Get Grimes, Clark, Viney and Sylvia back on the park and get some wins! I'd also like to see us stick with Neeld till close to the end of the year - sacking him after Queens Birthday after the soap opera of this week would be poor form
  12. Watching the clip on the afl website and hearing the way he spoke about playing for the MFC gave me half a mongrel What a legend
  13. Gold coast started from scratch, we didnt. It is a disgrace that we arent better than them right now
  14. Rubbish. As soon as he was picked by the Suns his loyalty towards the Demons became insignificant. Some players will leave clubs, but the vast majority stay at the club they were drafted to
  15. I think its gotta be Davis, if not this game, then when? having said that, regardless of who it is, you'd hope Dunn or one of the other guys can be a 3rd man up to limit Cloak's impact. Davis - Cloak Pederson - Lynch Garland - Elliot Strauss - Krack
  16. Yep nothing grind my gears more than seeing 'Damo' or 'Steveo' have their 5 minutes on footy shows. Who the F**k are they, and why should we care about what they say? They have a entire pannel of footy people on these shows yet these dweebs somehow become the reputable people for rehashing AFL.com/Herald sun's website?
  17. Great Post Regleg, i dont know Chris personally but thats the way i see it too
  18. From the few times ive had a chat with Chris, i found him to be a quality Melbourne person. Happy with the new deal
  19. i think regardless of if/when Neeld is shown the door it wont have been a knee jerk reaction. Knee jerk raction would have been to sack him straight after the gold coast game. As for the dignity part of things, this is the MFC, who knows what they'll do.....
  20. I agree. Its a sad state of affairs when sledging the oposition is basically part of the Australian way , but you generally associate that sort of thing with boozed up blokes and ferals. Its sad that a 13 year old girl would feel obliged to yell abuse at a footy player, racist or otherwise As for the comment itself and the media coverage I thought that based on the live raction from Goodes and the heightened sensitivity of being the opening match of indigenous round, the broadcasters did an ok job. Once Goodes pointed out the offender and he then was so visibly upset, they had option but to give it the level of coverage they did, regardless of the age of the girl. As a seperate discussion point, I believe the comment was racist, no doubt. The really sad thing from my perspective and for Australia is that i would almost go so far as to say that racist comments that are far worse, are probably made in the crowd at almost every AFL match
  21. Agreed, thought it might have been Range Rover. And the floggings will continue, but i feel any change of coach would be as much about satisfying the disgruntled playing group and members. Things cant get any worse on field IMO
