i think regardless of if/when Neeld is shown the door it wont have been a knee jerk reaction. Knee jerk raction would have been to sack him straight after the gold coast game. As for the dignity part of things, this is the MFC, who knows what they'll do.....

I agree. Its a sad state of affairs when sledging the oposition is basically part of the Australian way , but you generally associate that sort of thing with boozed up blokes and ferals. Its sad that a 13 year old girl would feel obliged to yell abuse at a footy player, racist or otherwise As for the comment itself and the media coverage I thought that based on the live raction from Goodes and the heightened sensitivity of being the opening match of indigenous round, the broadcasters did an ok job. Once Goodes pointed out the offender and he then was so visibly upset, they had option but to give it the level of coverage they did, regardless of the age of the girl. As a seperate discussion point, I believe the comment was racist, no doubt. The really sad thing from my perspective and for Australia is that i would almost go so far as to say that racist comments that are far worse, are probably made in the crowd at almost every AFL match

Agreed, thought it might have been Range Rover. And the floggings will continue, but i feel any change of coach would be as much about satisfying the disgruntled playing group and members. Things cant get any worse on field IMO

Neeld's record is poor. So poor he would have been sacked by now at most other clubs I suspect. Unfortunately, or fortunately (for him), MFC people that make these decisions have been conditioned to accept mediocrity over the last 6 years or so.

Gillies isnt in the final 22 Robbie F Strauss is unlucky, but the FD have clearly chosen to Bail/Nicho for their running capacity on the big ground over Strauss for his defensive works and foot skills. It's not not a total howler IMO

He's no troll. He’s a passionate dees man like the rest of us. Actually he could probably argue that he is more actively passionate than some of us as he attends trainings, B&F nights, he is best mates with every one of the players (just ask him.... actually dont ask him and he'll tell you anyway!)...... Problem is, he seems to have no capacity for forming his own opinions on the current plight of the club. Furthermore the extent of his analysis of the palyers in our squad is limited to platitudes regurgited from Matt Burgan’s weekly puff pieces. Next time I make the trip over to Victoria to watch a game at the ‘G, i’ll be keeping an eye out for a special bloke wearing #39 on his gurnsey, cheering the Dees on like they’ve won the last 10 flags in a row.

No thats, I'd prefer that we give Davey another year than recruit some other clubs retirees for a year or two. Besides, i'd prefer we keep the changes to the list limited to the top end draft picks we will have, and some high quality players via FA/Trade

RPFC in what universe is Tom McDonald more accomplished player than Jack Watts? He might be a better runner and he has a good attitude, but I've never seen a player with such poor skills and decision making get the wraps that Tom gets on here. Will be a good player in time, fine, but he's not there yet. Also naming Hogan as more accomplished before he plays a senior game for the club is a bit rich too!

Billy, my only comment to that is that IMO the lack of AFL game experience that Gillies has had is offset by his age and number of preseasons he has under his belt. Whilst i wouldnt expect him to be dominating games of footy, I had expected that he'd have the basic fundimentals of the game under control
