Looks great, as you say actually like a footy jumper, and certainly no clash with anyone else's home jumper. I think though I would do the numbers in white.
-
I certainly would NOT rush him back unless there is NO doubt that he has really fully recovered. Probably Strauss, but possibly Evans.
-
Lynden had better pull his finger out, so that some other team will want him at a reasonable price. The porn star mo would make him a good fit for GWS!
-
They are two seperate true statements, especially the latter. The MRP IS flawed, and DOES NOT apply its so called justice even handedly. The classic was Judd vs Pavlich last year - no case to answer!!!! And maybe if you beleive in Santa and the Easter Bunny, you would also believe that nobody knows the Brownlow count progressively.
-
Maybe the DIVE BOMBER should just go and get stuffed - what a load of sour grapes from a [censored] of the highest order. I though of him a couple of times at the game when some of his beloved Bombers took dives and did not get a free.
-
I am just watching the early third Q - he is an absolute machine. His second efforts are just amazing - if everyone played like Jordie we would be world beaters. A genuine on field leader. GO JORDIE.

Who are the most annoying three players in the AFL?
monoccular replied to a topic in Melbourne Demons
Brett Harvey - little schoolyard sneaky dobber; the retaliator always gets pinged Milne & Montagna - reasons well known to most Maxwell - always having a whinge if he doesn't get the free, or is penalised. -
........and it doesn't matter, it seems, even if the deceased goes out and kicks a bag the following week!

Ch 7 have charged, judged and virtually sentenced Bartram for a "Trengove Tackle" on Winmar, and we all know that the AFL take note of "incidents" that are shown 3 times in raid sequence, especially when commentators all shout "GUILTY". But OUTS should be Newton, Davey, Bate, and of course Tapscott IN: Gawn, Cook, Blease and Tom McDonald or maybe even McNamara or Nicholson. Are we really desperate enough to give Strauss another go?? YES - debut 3 or 4 (won't happen to the soft conservative club, but it should. It is time to be BOLD - I know a very un-Melbournian thing to do, but a statement must be made.

Thanks to all posters who have updated us who couldn't get to the game, WJ and R&B in particular. It is much appreciated. It does sound as if Jordie is a certainty (for Bail), and Bate(for Dunn) pretty likely too, both of whom IMO will add some grunt and physicality, dare I use the word "intensity" (I wont use the ND "R" word that has been totally discredited and it appears discarded at MFC).. R&B makes good points about match ups etc playing a big role on who else will get a gig, NB to replace Garland if N/A as sounds likely. Also great to hear that big Max held his own, and that the likes of Blease, Howe, Tom McDonald and Cook in particular are progressing. Interesting comments re Fev's TEAM role - so you CAN teach old dogs new tricks after all!!!

Trengove suspended for 2 ... now 3 weeks
monoccular replied to Neita3000's topic in Melbourne Demons
These guys at the MRP are a bloody joke. So inconsistent. No way was it intentional other than the very act of tackling at all. They obviously want the Saints and Roos to have an easier run in the next fortnight. I didn't hear and Adelaide fans complaining at the time - oh, hang on, I didn't hear and Adelaide fans full stop!! -
We need to bring the same intesnsity next week
monoccular replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
We have seen it now - so therefore absolutely NO EXCUSES ANY MORE. If you don't put in, you must be put out. Each and every player MUST put in like today to get over the Dogland and the Roos hoodoo next week. Great effort all concerned. -
Maybe Joel could better come in for Jack G depending on the fitness of all.
-
Certainly far and away the best game I have seen from him. He seesed to always find space and his disposal was up to his reputation. It will be fascinating to see if he came come up with another like that on the more cramped ground at Doglands. If he does we will go a long way towards breaking the Doglands / Kangaroo hoodoo.

thanks demonwithin - is that Mr demonwithin, FRACS (Ortho)??? Always glad of an expert opinion and prognosis even before xrays, scans etc. You must be a wizz!!!! Did you do Matthew Egan's operation??

Tonight is the turning point for the MFC.
monoccular replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
The entire club is just plain WEAK - no other way of putting it. They just tolerate mediocrity, and have done so for decades, utter a few platitudes, and expect us long term fans to tolerate it too. RUBBISH. YES, IT IS A CROSSROADS. I CERTAINLY WON'T BUST MY GUT TO GET TO GAMES AS I HAD PLANNED TO DO THIS MYTHICAL SEASON OF RESURGANCE! ABOUT AS MYTHICAL AS DANIHER'S RUTHLESNESS. WEAK CLUB. (I STILL LOVE THEM THOUGH DESPITE IT!) -
Absolutely NO WAY - the current position, what with byes etc and only round 6 doesn't matter much, but if you mean end of season will we deserve - NO, unless there is some sort of miracle turnaround as happened in the latter half of 2000 when I think we were absolutely disgraced by the Dogs and Carltank mid season but ran home to make to GF.

IF, IF, IF!!!!! He had talent, but was slowish even before his body failed him. Bad luck, but we owe him nothing.

We are about to get key players back, how will we fit them in
monoccular replied to a topic in Melbourne Demons
I am particular excited at the prospect of getting Jordie McKenzie back into the fray, and Scully but only when he is 100% fit. For such a young and unsung player, not a high draft pick, I am just so impressed by Jordie's intensity, something we have lacked so far for most of this year. A fine example for any young low draft pick or rookie. -
As long as they don't all go and see whatever that movie was that Grant Thomas took the Saints to see!
-
Much was spoken about Strauss' kicking ability, but he just didn't get the ball to show us, and from all accounts hasn't progresed much this year. I very much hope that we get a lot more from Blease - I haven't had an opportunity to see him at all. Where and when do Casey play over the Easter weekend?
-
Interesting to read DumbItriou saying that it would cost a club "only 250K more" to run a stand alone team. "only" 250k!! Well, sack him and they could fund 8 teams from his overinflated salary.
-
Re Strauss: No point in being an elite kick unless you get it enough to cause damage.. And, as a defender, what are his defensive skills like?
-
I too am excited, and cautiously optimistic about further vast improvements in 2011, though this may not always translate to the scoreboard. But as has been pointed out, a young very inexperienced side can be immensely exciting bit also cannot realistically be expected to show consistency and more so durability towards the end of a long season. Looking at 7-10 finish! Need to keep Jurrah on the field all season

Welcome back to Demonland ... TOM McNAMARA
monoccular replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
He has skills and a bit of grunt and vision. Could envisage him as a running half back flanker prepared to follow up into attack.. Not sure as yet about his accountability though - that may be why he has only played 3 games, other than of course injury. I can't remember - were his injuries soft tissue strain type injuries or impacts?
