  1. I was so pleased for Kennedy to play his part in a finals win over Carlscum, given the disgraceful way they handled both his recruitment, and his scrapping. Well done Josh - hold your head high for the way you have handled it all -- and, sweet revenge!!!
  2. I would prefer him in the tight clinches far far ahead of the likes or Morton or Newton! At least you would know he went in 100 per cent every time.
  3. Maybe Mr $cully is being badly misjudged and maligned by us MFC suppoters..........he has actually considered this deeply and realized that he may not be physically able to give to us what he feels we deserve after we took him at pick #1, and "sacrificed himself" for the good of our club, realizing that we would get better long term value by him falling on his $word! Just another slant on the whole $orry $ydney $heedy $cully $aga
  4. Not quick on his feet but very quick above the shoulders, gutsy and strong. Holds his ground in the clinches. I would have him in the team way way ahead of #10, as a clearance mid. He gives his all.
  5. It is certainly time to move on very quickly from this whole $orry $cully $ydney $heedy $aga, and Trenners for at least vc if not captain would he a great way to do so.
  6. I am very surprised, and must say disappointed, that Morton was re-signed before we had a new coach who could sit him down eyeball to eyeball and spell out just what would be required of him. A weak decision IMO, but ........... Cale has shown absolutely nothing in two years - sure he had a poor preseason, but that shouldn't kill of your nerve, and if it did than it won't ever come back anyway.
  7. Maybe his heart just wasnt in it this year - which I must say says little for his professionalism.
  8. I really wish that I could share you optimism, that a new coach can get him to "put in" when the going gets tough when he hasn't for what, 3 or is it 4 years? If you think a coach can make that sort of fundamental change in a player, I would love to know just who is that coach??

  10. No need to talk about Fev like that ! He can't help his looks.
  11. Thanks again KC Informative and well considered, as ever. Are you interested in a senior AFL coaching job? There is one vacant !
  12. Lack of leg speed pace is one thing -- total absence of a turning circle is an even bigger drawback IMO, especially as a mid, though his body strength would be an asset. I have never really noticed - can he tackle? I guess you have to catch up with them first, though in close that may not be so vital.
  13. If one can beleive what is said here and on other fora, #12 may well be available. Or, hopefully, #10.
  14. And, possibly, number #6 may become available for another star ranga in 2012 ?????? Not sure that he is quite as quick (relative, 2010s vs 1950s) as Frank Bluey, multi Premiership player, but pretty bloody fast.
  15. Thanks Deeoldfart, and KC in particular, as well as all those who keep those of us who can't get there informed.. So, either of you, is Fitzy the real thing or has the opposition been really bad? From some of KC's descriptions he sounds really agile as well as very tall. Is he being groomed as a tall deep forward of the Paul Salmon (early version) type? Is he a ready, and likely option for next week (dependent of course on how all go tomorrow) ? How about Bail? Ready for MFC next week? Thanks again.
  16. surely the incentive is exactly your final four words ---- TO WIN A FLAG !!! Wouldn't that br more than enough incentive ??
  17. Amazing stuff! Cale Morton (& others) please note that they kick it on the full!!!
  18. If, from all accounts, that was a satisfactory output, then the club is in deep hsti (anagram)! Whoever is to coach next year, the old MFC thought process "near enough, good enough" just has to disappear. And I don't mean the penultimate coach's " er, umm, we are, er umm, going to be , er, umm, ruthless from now on" empty platitude - the new guy has to DEMAND IT and call all those not prepared to give it their all, all match, every match, to account.
  19. I only heard snippets on ABC and it seemed that "Morton didn't commit" was a common theme.
  20. ....and when / if we approach the "Premiership window" and the list builds, these guys who provide the grunt at the moment but can't deliver, will fall by the wayside.
  21. So our plans are dictated by the Collingwood President??? No wonder our club has no self esteem. Get the best available and appoint for 5 years if we think he is really any good.
  22. From what I hear, Tommy McNamara is no Morton - he has a red hot go every time!
  23. KC - thanks again for your commentary. Questions: Cook in the 2s - how did he go? McNamara - lots of possessions as a mid - is he due for a couple of games in the red 'n blue this season? Fitzpatrick - not a lot of possessions but does he look the goods?
  24. Thanks KC Did the much maligned Cook do much, from what you saw??
  25. POSITIVES 1. Howe 2. Surely the last we see of Cale
