His very distant ancestor defined gravity, but Michael somehow defied it for seven long years, but has finally fallen.- 101 replies

Well just maybe no nonsense Neeld will insist and ensure that oft time posers such as Sylvia do the team thing, all the time, week in, week out, or plays at Cranny!! Let's hope so. And I suspect that a similar ultimatum may be issued to Davey, who will be asked to play where he started, as a small, crumbing pressuring forward.
-
The only conclusion that I could draw from this is that he is gone -- surely there is no way that a new "no nonsense" coach would give anyone, even a superstar if we had one, permission to swan around overseas whilst the others start training.

Who the hell is Maloney -- some new hopeful? We do have someone with a somewhat similar name who wears #22, but as he has been on our list for several years I am sure every true red and blue heart would know how to spell his name.

2011 Player Review - # 48 Jack Fitzpatrick
monoccular replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
He obviously has something special hidden away from public view that many posters here do not see, but that has been seen and appreciated by the list managers -- hopefully not the old goat photos ;-) -
I think his injury and subsequent absence had a far greater effect on team balance than was realized or expected at the time. I hope he has made a full recovery and can become a consistently influential player for us.

Unfortunately, for whatever multitudinous reasons, Wona was not able to fully commit to the extreme rigors of AFL footy.......simlpe as that really. I am glad that someone has finally come out and stated that anything less than full commitment just won't go.........are you listening Mr Sylvia? But as titan says.....I would certainly want him on the list ahead of at least some of those he has listed.

Sounds good - hope he develops as described. Could he be the long awaited crumber.? -
They aren't really, are they?

Sorry to be really pedantic, but it is not grammer, but grammar.
-
Thanks to all the above posters for their insights - certainly seems an exciting prospect. If he turns out to be even close to Frawley, or Harry O for that matter, together with Tom McDonald and Col we have the makings of a super defence.

"your Gary Abletts" "your Ron Barassis" "your Wayne Careys" "your Robbie Flowers"etc etc I guess in the case of the first two cases, there were actually two, and they all could play a bit.

2011 Player Review - # 42 Jake Spencer

There is no doubt that he is 'awkward', and also no doubt that his injury came at the very worst possible time for him, as Gawnius Maximus clearly debuted in a far more advanced stage than was Jake even after his several years on the list. Unfortunately for him he now needs to play catch up to Max, who looks far more athletic and shows more footy smarts already. -
From the little that I have seen of Tom, he has quite a lot going for him - young, tall, strong, cool under pressure (which can't be taught). I am looking forward to seeing a lot more of him next season and beyond.

2011 Player Review - # 49 Daniel Nicholson ®
monoccular replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Daniel was pretty impressive in his early games, and I would expect him to progress further with another preseason and good conditioning staff. It does show that playing against adults, albeit VAFA level, can prepare some players better than dominating boys at TAC level.. -
And to think that a certain T$ actually chose to play under this demented maniac! Most of his teamates will have been forced to go there...but he cho$e to go! But it wa$n't the money of course, it was the great facilities....and now it turms out that there are plenty of cheap falafels for his dad to devour too. Hope he enjoys it, and thinks that it is all worth it.
-
Well lets hope that now we have a new coaching team who seem to have a clue or two about tactics, that our smaller forwards may actually have a team discipline to play to.
-
Why not, IF MN has had the heart to heart with him and believes that he can stay clean and contribute. I think we should put our trust in our new list managers and coaching staff.
-
.....and $cully'$ mother has been appointed to the job......all of course OKd in the salary cap context by Vlad. "all above board"
-
Just what I was trying to express in different words. I don't really think anyone could say that he isn't ahead of schedule, significantly so - if they see it as fawning...well, to each his own. Well done.

For those of us who have been unable to see Casey games, can you please enlighten us as to why he is seen as such an exciting prospect? Size? "Looks like, plays like ......."

This really looms as a crossroads season fot Neville - the gap between best and worst must narrow, hopefully upwards. He could be a big contributor, or a flash in the pan. Over to you Nev
