  1. Enough G&D to put most of the list to shame, especially those who have been around the club for a few years. Leads by example. Go Nathan.
  2. and the lower clubs will just act as development factories.......take some high draft picks, work out which ones turn out ok and which don't.......the top teams skim the cream.....further draft picks offered and the cycle goes on and on and on and on....... and as I said above the cycle goes on and on and on and on..... The lower clubs will have to have a shitload of luck to ever get out of the mire whilst the chosen clubs will continue successfully skimming the cream (OK, Hawks seem to have got the Frawley one wrong this time around). But, back to the thread title - yes and no. Yes as we should have under the guidelines have received a PP. No because the AFL are well known for making off the cuff decisions and will help Carlton and Brisbane in any way they choose, and justify it to their own satisfaction.
  3. We are talking about Jesse Hogan's dad, not Tom $cully's. Sounds like a very genuine sort of no BS guy.
  4. Cheney has been a surprise to me. Well done
  5. Sure. 1 or 2 max years - after all he isn't likely to be going anywhere fast.
  6. I am not suggesting that he does. Just his master plan to defend before learning how to attack.
  7. Yes, sure. But I thought that in that instance the pressure was not all that great. After all, there is pressure all the time. Just scrap the rule. It is a pity that one of these two have to go out. I would much have preferred were these two were to be playing elimination v Norf and Toiges. Well, we have 1 and 2.....hopefully year 3 of the Roos master play will involve attack! Word is that the whole of years 1&2 were based entirely on defense.
  8. Can we get rid of the absurd deliberate rushed behind rule? Absolutely typical AFL knee jerk reaction to one game. Has been enforced twice ever, I believe including one that cost us a game v Dogs last year. Richards just did one of the most blatant and was not pinged. Just admit it was a mistake, AFL, and save us all more confusion.
  9. They did look bloody awful...even worse than the wee and poo ones. And there would be absolutely NO clash with their traditional jumper. None whatsoever.
  10. .........but we would miss Brayshaw - thanks James Maybe he is more of a 24h clock....only right once a day. Twice a day is far more credit than he deserves.
  11. Many seem to be underestimating just how much we missed Pedersen when he was injured - not a star by any means but a pretty reliable solid rôle player.
  12. Whatever one may say about Hogan (on a Watts thread or any other thread), "He seems pretty..." just doesn't cut it. :-)
  13. Carlscum and Brisbane for that matter can wait 50 Premiership-free years and then be told to get stuffed. Though with Fitzoatrick at the helm, who knows.
  14. Tonight he us really looking like a classic deer in the headlights
  15. Maybe he has a dozen.......other players are known to have had >3 and are / have been / did continue to play. It is all AFL window dressing. Sure they may pick out a scapegoat from time to time but do you seriously think that the AFL really care as long as their big drawcards can still get out there? Especially a star player from one of their 'special clubs'. All that said, IF our now professional standard club leaders do their due diligence and truly believe that they can manage him, and that he will not pollute the younger players in particular then why not if the price is right.
  16. Bernie Vince of recent time. Dom Tyson if he can get his leg right could turn out a classy pick up too.
  17. Kent, and Salem, were huge losses for our structure. Limited our delivery significantly. The last time I was as excited about a new MFC player was when a young #5 David Schwarz hit the scene - his 94 finals series was just massive. I suspect that although 2016 will be his second season actually playing, having been at the club for two years prior to that will make for a far smoother transition. And, hi whole attitude is so rare for his age. WJ - are you being magnanimous? Are you naïve? The "apology" was really one of those "I am really sorry / regret .......(that I was caught)" sort of apologies. They have absolutely no scruples whatsoever and deserve whatever pain comes their way.
  18. Yeah. At least we can be 100% certain that Cale wasn't in body building drugs.
  19. Would have to agree - very agile and very quick off the mark and quick thinking. Can make up for pure speed. I know he would be a dinosaur in today's game, but Greg Williams was amazingly 'quick' in thought and action, and strong in body, but really very slow across the ground. He has had a rotten run with injuries: let's hope that is behind him and with a good preseason he gets a chance to show his wares 2016. and Interesting that both are mooted as delists / trades ? :-)
  20. Biggest question of all......was he injected or did he refuse? Until that is answered (and if he was injected then would have to wait until WADA cleared him) I wouldn't touch him
  21. ....and drugs that were not compounded......
  22. Is this 'just" improper, immoral, contrary to protocol and common decency, or is it actually against AFL rules? In the latter case will the highly amusingly named "Integrity Commission" act and crack down with an iron fist? If not, why not?
  23. Yeah. What a lazy bastard......feigning injury to avoid hard work. Another failure of recruiting, development, injury prevention. C&B = [censored].
  24. I am sure that the AFL, the paragons of integrity, (draft, draw, finals scheduling, three strikes policy, PEDs, tanking, MRP and tribunal etc etc etc) will find a way that Sideney will not have to suffer too much. All too true. Can buy lots of other stuff, but not happiness.
  25. Certainly up there, but Viney, Brayshaw, Hogan and maybe even Harmes will be up there with him.....and of course there us the other Christian yet to debut. All have 'that aura' :-)
