All sounds good, though should it be totally outcome related? A king hit is a king hit (poor term I know as nothing noble about it). And the sin binned player should not be replaced - ie the offending team plays one short. But it would have to be blatant stuff, as there are some 'line ball' things like the Moloney Bartell "incident" where contact wasn't even made but Moloney was ousted.

One doesn’t need a huge bag of goals to win a flag: IIRC our last flag was won with our rover, John Townsend kicking 35 to win our goal kicking. The top forward got I think 25 or so (Vagg will remember surely).

IMVHO this was a lot worse than Bugg Bugg threw a reckless and overzealous arm blindly backwards at someone who was at him from behind: Gaff threw a very deliberate punch to a players face whilst face on, knowing full well what he was going to hit. IF, IF there was any justice, integrity and impartiality in the match review process Gaff would get 6-8, however he will get 2-3 to enable him to participate in finals. Prepare for weasel words and double back flip standards.

It is entirely 100% in our hands as to where we finish - even second, with double chance and home finals is possible .... in fact WILL happen if we win all our games. So ...no excuses.

That was about the “worst look thing” I can recall at AFL. Can anyone recall just what reasoning the pathetic AFL commission gave for introducing this totally ridiculous rule? IIRC it was about limiting “third man up” contests: surely it would have been far easier and more efficacious to just penalize any second player from a team getting involved in the ruck contest. Gil and his clowns seem to be doing that pretty well off their own boots.
