  1. There is only one player among our senior list that puts in very week. To be captain first you have to justify your position in the team. Moloney does that plus he looks like he cares how we are going. From outside the fence IMO it is not a contest. If green where not the captain would he be playing a Casey next week? I do not care he got pie eyed one night. So did Neitz.
  2. And they have the personell to get it done. We clearly do not. Or is there something I am missing.
  3. LG if we are relying on odd numbers to win we are deeper in the hole than I thought. Yes I know you are joking. Sorry but I just look at each teams list today and even on low confidence levels the Saints have us well covered. Their senior players have ours covered 3 fold. Senior players bring the young guys into the games. We are hoping the young guys will make up for the senior players. big win for the saints I fear.
  4. After much soul searching I believe we are seriously over rating our players. I have two good friends 1 Hawthorn and 1 geelong member. They constantly tell me "your players are not that good" They sight, Sylvia 1 good season in 6, average player Green last season his only consistant season Davey good kick but easily taken out of the contest Dunn average player who occasionly has a good game Bate too good at VFL level too slow at AFL level Rivers Solid but only an average player. And their greatest criticism is we have not one player who can turn a game. After much soul searching this year I am forced to agree. Our biggest problem is probably not Endevour, attitude or culture It is perhaps a lot more simple We are simply not good enough. So as in the past a lot of pain appears on the horizon for Dees supporters. I realy hope I am wrong but with each passing week it looks more and more correct.
  5. Milpod you had better stay on your knees The blues and dons are light years ahead of us. You have an awful lot of wins by those two to endure. Like it or not IMO either of them will win a flag before the Dees. The only up side I can see is if The Blues keep winning Ratten will stay as coach. That might give us a better chance of getting Malthouse. Though why he would want to take a pay cut to coach a bottom half side I do not know.
  6. Last weekend both the Dees and Saints got out of the blocks well. Both had good leads at quarter time and both got walloped. Not sure what that says. Maybe just that we are both poor.
  7. Only in the french quarter Nasher
  8. RR all of the above makes good sense but based on: -Past performance against the Saints and at ES - Our efforts this year - Our loss of top players over the last 3 weeks I would not back the Dees with someones else's money. It is rapidly turning into "another Melbourne Year" for me. Zero confidence in our skill level. I am forced to admit I have over estimated our ability. I thing we are a bottom 6 side even with an full list.
  9. Doggo there are no Casey games this weekend they have the Bye. Not sure what happened to Campbell last weekend i have seen nothing on him. Did not get mentioned in the reserves scratch match. Mystery man at present.
  10. You can only pull up your socks up if you have some on. At the present the sock cupboard is fairly bare. I doubt JC could perform the task you ask let alone the FD of the MFC.
  11. I have a similar feeling to last week We never play well against the Saints or at ES and to top it off we half lost more players to injury and good ones as well. The saints played in 2 GF's just a few months ago and while they are sorely down on form and confidence the majority of the players that got them to the GF last year are still there. Good players do not lose their skill that quickly, eventually the cream rises to the top I think they will be too good for too long for the Dees to win. If we give them the start that Hawthorn gave last week it will end in a sorry score line for the Dees. We do not come back from those situations against average sides let alone good ones. a loss by 8 goals is my prediction I am hopeful of a good showing by Evans
  12. Be still my beating heart. Jl if only you are correct, I would be happy with him as the drinks boy if we pulled that off. But seriously I thought he played well last week especially when he was in the back line.
  13. Ok DC I am too dumb to work it out.
  14. As I said else where today DC never lose your sense of humour. I look for a DC ism every day keep up the good work.
  15. Oh well guys the the thing you need the most as a Dees supporter is a sense of humour. Without a little humour I think I would have given up a long time ago. A few people on here keep me going. as my mum would say never take yourself too seriously. PS she never got to that french part of Egypt
  16. DC your cries for help have not been rewarded. Perhaps even rpfc has lost will to fight on.
  17. RR what would you do if the FD in a drunken moment drafted Fev? I know the quick answer is it will not happen. But what if? would you return your membership? Follow the pies? or just carry on as a dees Man?
  18. He is probably not Robinson Crusoe My daughter did the same at 12. Still ribs with " why do you still follow that bunch of cream puffs" 21 years later.
  19. Yes TH makes JW look like the recruit of the century.
  20. If it works for you go for it. My Mum use to say denial is a wonderful thing. It may well be the way to go but after 47 years my Positivity is almost exhausted. I think I have flogged that horse to death.
  21. RN I agree re estimating a date of a GF win, impossible! However if there is a fortune teller amongst us can they please tell me when the current agony ends? Then if I could Ski I would go! However It could be a ways off, I might have time to take lessons. My learning to ski might happen first!
  22. Well someone has the job in front of them. Too big for me. Good luck whoever you are at the MFC
  23. Roost It a fair bit of what you say may be true However in this era of GWS and GCS it is impossible to change a large number of the playing group quickly. GWS will get most of the young players plus unsigned seniors. They will out bid us in most cases, it will be even hard to hold some of our young players you mentioned. So IMO we are stuck with Green, Dunn etc for the next two years mininium. We got in before the draft became a GWS / GCS benefit and a least got some good juniors. But the basic group we have now is it till 2013 in my opinion. So for better or worse the current group is what we have to work with over the next couple of years. We need to improve this lot because IMO there is not much of an alternative.
