Tassie Devils Possible Extinction
Of that 5 million 4.9 million are from India who are not into football games of any sort. You have a point if we discussing Cricket But we are discussing AFL which doesn't interest large groups of Soccer, NRL and Union. That combination would out number Aussie rules. All that adding Tassie will achieve is to increase the number of teams at the bottom with no chance every year from 4 to 5.

New Rules For AFL 2026 - All SEVEN of ‘em!
Why do they keep changing the rules? All this guff to save a few minutes a game. Just reduced the game time from 100 minutes to 92 minutes. There you go and then we would not have to work through numerous changes that will further complicate fans understanding.

The Sullivan Robey Thread
I have just finished reading a lengthy article from today’s HUN. Mr. Robey does not get a mention at all. To be fair it is about who goes no.1 but a lot of players outside of the no. 1 are mention. So I am now more confused than before I read the story.

Training Ground?
I think I have been there bluey.

State of Origin is Back
I hadn't thought of that possibility. Other than Max and Kossie it is hard to see anyone else getting picked.

State of Origin is Back
From that Macca it seems you are suggesting he will be out only representative.
-
State of Origin is Back
I hope it is bruise free Macca. I don't want our representatives injured.
-
The Sullivan Robey Thread
Unless we convert 7 and 8 to 2 or 3 he will be gone by the time we get a pick.

State of Origin is Back
My only interest is that no MFC players get injured or suspended.

Training Ground?
Wow Mr Leg. I think we will struggle to have the approval by then. The government in Victoria is broke, we're are they going to get the money? At the best the approval will come in the lead up to the next election. The money will have to come in the new government time. Sadly whoever wins will have the same problem i.e. no money. I cannot see it happening this decade.

AFLW: Rd 10 vs Sydney
As many know I have not been a fan of the women’s game for reasons I have stated in the past. However this year I decide to give it go. I have watched a few Demon games and a few quarters of other games. some teams have improved their skill. What I am about now is the MFC jumper that was worn last weekend. I think it is the best jumper that I have seen on Melbourne players be they female or male. Very good effort from whoever designed it. 10 out of 10. Can we beat the Roos who are clearly the best side in the Comp. I will reserve my judgement for a couple of weeks. Go Dee’s.

Dawn of a new Era - Paul Guerra article 18.10.2025
And no one wanted him. I have said this elsewhere but I will repeat. A few years back we told Tmac to look around. No one wanted him and he stayed with the Dees. He has played some very good games since then including a GF win were he kicked 2 goals! Without him this season our backline would been terrible. He held it together and was rewarded with another season contract for 2026. I hope this can also apply to May. He was a big contributor to our 2021 GF. For that I can thank him.

Dawn of a new Era - Paul Guerra article 18.10.2025
It's funny how ones opinion can change in a few days. I went into this trade period feeling very deflated at the prospect of loosing Oliver and Trac. We got imo a good deal for Trac. It says a lot to me that we gave Oliver away in fact we are actually paying part of his salary to be free of him. Our trades in the form of Steele, Mio suggested improvement. The Hawk hmm wait and see! Overall I feel we have improved our team how they play with a new coach etc. will be revealed in March. Someone said we had Oliver and Trac the last two seasons and finished 14th both seasons and they didn't win games or awards for us. With the draft still to come there is plenty to be enjoyed till March. Go Dees!

We Owe Pies
While we have had a couple of good plaurrs from the pies we have had some shockers. Who could forget old concrete hands, the coach we took from them he will go down as the worst coach in AFL history. More recentlu the pony tail ruckman. Beware of Collingwood bearing gifts.

I am not for one second suggesting accurate kicking is not a top recruitment but first you have to get the ball. You could be the greatest kick in the history of the game but if you don't get the ball enough your accurate kick cannot be implemened. What I am saying is that accurate kicking is not be all of being a good player.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
We got May in that move. A large part of the 21 premiership. IMO it turned out to be a good swap.
-
Steven May
From the article it appears that everything is going well with May. With the exception of Oliver i Think we have done well in this trade period
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
After reading the Guerra article in today's HUN I can only believe they wanted him out at all costs. We got a third round pick and will be paying a substantial salary. That is desperation moves to get out of the club. What we don't know went on the last couple of years must be substantial. We literately paid GWS to take him.

Grading the Trade Week
That covers it perfectly!

Grading the Trade Week
Never fear one will pop up.

MH has effectively taken Verrall's spot as the up and coming ruckman. I don't believe I have seen Max however he has played senior games and hit the score board. Verall was at best a VFL player in fact he never really played a very good game in his 3 years. The addition of MH imo is a definite step up.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Good point I had forgotten that one.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Hmm there have been some shockers in that period. I would say losing Gus would be worse. That's in later years.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
I feel the same, that makes 2 of us.
