  1. Gee I would He has been out for weeks with a leg injury and his form was poor before the injury.
  2. I know I am on my favorite hobby horse but why would you leave Bennell in the team. Apparently did little at Casey yesterday, that follows poor form vs the bulldogs when he was subbed off. There are few playong well at Casey that should get a look in. Remember we played poorly ten days ago. Surely there is room for 2 -3 changes. I think Blease ( poor yesterday ), Bennell should be dropped and Gysberts, Strauss and Nicholson are in danger. We have Tapscott, Bate, Bartram , Maric and Mcnamara ( best on ground ) Plus Mcdonald ( if he has recovered)playing well and available. I think. Out: Blease, Bennel, Gysberts and Strauss In: Tapscott, Maric, Bate and either Mcdonald ( if fit ) or Bartram. 4 changes is a big one for the Dees so there will probably only be 2
  3. Why WD so we can continue the trend of the last 40 years! We have a team of well skilled players who can only beat the bottom half dozen sides but not get closer than 8 -10 goals of anyone who is half decent. Either the team is not as good as we think or we are poorly coached.
  4. just like Norm Smith was in 64. Why is he "not the answer for us" Because you don't like him? The fact is Malthouse has the runs on the board. You can say whatever you like about him but he has Premierships to his credit.
  5. You have my vote SM I feel very calm tonight not worrying about the same thing. And it will all end in a few weeks. Back to an even number of teams in 2012
  6. I saw him on the TV tonight with the Hawk party off to Tassie today!
  7. Spot on DC I just had to slap myself. I was about to look at the thread. But the moment of stupidy passed. With no game this weekend I get to continue the brain washing of my Grand daughter. She is only 6 months old but you have to start early otherwise her Grand mother might win the battle. I think my best chance is a MFC dynasty starting about 2013 for 10 years. Do I have a snow flake chance in Hell?
  8. Tatu I am not sure what you are telling me here! Are you suggesting we have to keep Bailey because he would be out of a job if we do not extend his contract? At the end of this year his contract expires, at that point our obligations to him come to an end. If he is judged to be not good enough to take Melbourne forward then why is it the MFC's problem if there is no other job for him at AFL level. Surely you are not suggesting we have to keep any coach that is not good enough because there is no other coaching position available for that person. Please tell me I missed the point.
  9. I believe the number in 2012 will depend on the results we get from the last eight games. I struggle to see us winning more than 4. Port - win Hawks - Loss even with their injuries Cats - Loss Carlton - Maybe ? if we respond to earlier in the year but most likely a loss West coast - loss , Etihad says it all Richmond - win Gold coast - win Port - win. 4 wins and the last three of the year would make for a positive end to 2011. That should make the members come back for more in 2012
  10. 36DD is that the same as in the future? I do agree, you need 26 good players to win a flag. Having one or two super stars and nothing else will not get it done.
  11. Interesting is it not! Believe it or not my wife is a Pies member ( she has her teeth and no tattoos ) However she is not going to renew in 2012. Reason - too many members. She says at the majority of games unless you buy an additional reserved seat you end up in the top of the stand ( they do give free Oxygen bottles ) As well she says if you bag the wrong supporter you are trapped near a foul mouthed idiot that spoils your day. Claims this year she has only enjoyed 2 -3 games. Next year it will be TV for her. Making noises about Foxtel and "why don't you give up on the Dees They have been useless for years it won't change next year" Fat chance is my answer but the pressure is mounting.
  12. Cudi_420 Thats a really Big "Disregard"
  13. I agree Benno it must be a "Bye" weekend not much else to discuss I guess
  14. Whats he got to do? That was the opening question. Be given as many games as Bennell!
  15. I don't think I agree with you. This year Jurrah has that mantle for mine. His accuracy has dropped substantially since last year. Good kicking by Jarrah last friday night would have kept us in the battle. We could have been close to the Dogs at half time if he had kicked well.
  16. Here is one to consider. DAVEY. 2010 He had a good first half then injured for the last third of the season. Was taken out of a number of games by a close checking defender e.g. Carlton game. 2011 ordinary start to the year with again the problem of defenders rendering him close to useless. Injured again for a long spell may only get back for the last 4 games. seems to have lost his accurate kicking ability. What is the situation with him in 2012? He will be 29 and has not given us much in the last 2 years due to poor form and injury. Will he be around if and when we have a chance at serious finals action in 2014? I doubt it, it may be time to do another Trapper. However I doubt we will find another Voss out there. I would trade him and I think he is still marketable that may not be the case in 2013
  17. Thanks KC for the report. I was going to this game but I had bail out late saturday morning (grand father duties ). does anyone know the rules about players particpating in VFL sides during the bye? Seems to me a couple from Friday night could do with a run at Casey next weekend. Any ideas?
  18. IMO Any of them in place of Bennell
  19. SS I do not know how you can be so sure that "pound for pound talent wise we are as good as most" I see little that suggest that this is true. Yes we have some good players who are improving however we have a large number that IMO are no better than Average AFL players. do you not even consider than a number of our current list are not good enough to back up the good players?
  20. Thank you rpfc. Why is it so hard for us to except that a number of our players are not as good as we thought this time last year.
  21. For god sake Most of the team is less than 22. We were just out played by a better side. We keep looking for excuses the majority of the current players are not good enough to compete with the top teams. We have 7 - 8 good players and then a lot of average players. Simply not good enough against the better sides. Why else do we get badly beaten by the top sides.
  22. I think I missed it too
  23. My big problem is I doubt there is a course for this horse. And if the only course is Darwin We will need to keep him on the list for 1 game a year. PS Unfortunately he does little to shut me up
  24. I don't disagree with most of what you say but it takes 22 players to be a good team. 6 - 7 is not enough. IMO we do not have enough good players irrespective of their ages.
  25. So we are not good enough? Simple really.
