How lucky was Bate be left out of yesterdays mess? Comes up today smelling like a rose.

Hi RN My god I had forgotten all those crappy years thanks for reminding me. Still a couple left in the brain it is not completely dead however the Dees are doing their best to kill me off.

RN this is one of times that it gives me no joy in being correct. However I think yesterday there were a couple of genuine excuses. Injuries have cripial us in just 2 weeks and then we lost 2 players who have been among our best since the start of the season. With another couple in danger of being suspended it looks very grime for the rest of May. Right now I am too depressed about the Dees to make much of what will happen next saturday. Perhaps in a couple of days when I can think straight. I thought Martin and Newton showed some effort and it was not their fault we lost. But is bloody depressing at present feels like 2009 all over again

I actually thought bailey did a better job this week. We were severely weakened by injury before the game and during it. He threw players around to try and solve problems, eg. Watts was alternating between forward and back from the first quarter. I thought that worked. If only his captain and a few other senior players would give him some help!

I thought we lost today for two main reasons. - 3-4 of our senior players contributed very little - Injuries have forced us to play guys are who are not yet ready to carry the load added to that we lost two good players to injury in the first half. I also think Jones was hurt in the first quarter. I did like Stef Martin I think today was his best game for the MFC made some arrors but went hard at it all day,and did some nice things. I have not been a Watts fan but I thought today he played well in defence. Do we have a CHB on our hands? Good effort over the last 3 weeks, if Green had played as well I would be happy.

Thanks WYL I thought everyone was hiding on the subject of JB. At least you have the courage to comment. Sorry I just do not see it, I concentrated on him today and he did nothing much. He may play well if he was at a better team but at the Dees you have to make the running. I think Jetta was ok today but made two bad mistakes that led to turn overs and goals when we should have been streaming forward. However i will forgive him as at least he goes and gets the ball and he shows no fear.

All last week I was saying people under estimate north. They started the season with a lot of injuries and have played both top sides, been to WA twice loosing to WC by 3 points ( how much did we lose by again?)and Freo by a couple of goals. But otherwise I agree we gifted the Roos 5 goals by my count.

And he kept throwing himself into the fray, as a back up ruckman he is average but then who else is there? Best Game he has played for a long while. A keep for next week for me If Green played half as well I would be happy.

I thought that today we went hard at the ball all day. We did not lose because we were soft like earlier in the season. I thought we lost because 3 - 4 of our senior players contributed little eg Green, Dunn,Davey and Petterd. On top of that injuries cost us early in the second quarter, Garland. Then Bail and I am sure Jones was hurt early in the first quarter. Add to that poor games from Wona, Bennell, Jarrah (good first quater then went missing), Gysberts etc. We sure as hell missed Jamar and Trengove.

His kicking is usually his best feature but today he did 3 shockers that cost us goals as well as two terrible hand passes that let to turn overs and goals.

OK guys JB came on for the second half so started when others had played 60 minutes. Whats your verdict? I will lead with my chin! Played the way I expected. I had hope for a good performance based on your praise yesterday. but alas the usually bit part player, I must admit he did put his body on the line a couple of times. Any takers?

I am going today SJX but I often wonder if the players care if there is 20, 25 or 30 000 at the game!

Having LL connected to the MFC can only be positive! He is a multi GF winner at two clubs. This not the reason for the meeting but he can coach the DEES any time he likes as far as I am concerned.

WJ I could not have written my feeling better than above. I believe over the next couple of weeks both Maric and Jetta have the chance to show their worth.

To all the Jamie Bennell defenders. Glad to see you all like him and think he has a long future ahead. Time will tell if you are right. I don,t believe I ever said play well in the next three weeks or you are out. I believe he has a spot guaranteed for the next three weeks (not many alternatives ) If he plays well I will be happy that your faith has been justified. I will also be happy that we have a good player. However at this point I just do not see the player that you guys see. Only one persons opinion

I think cook spent a fair bit of last weeks game in the back line. Not sure why but the week before it was obvious that we had too many big guys in the forward line. That looks to be the case again at Casey. I think there is a very good chance Cook will spend some time in the back line again.

Like your confidence HT I will be happy with 2 points not sure my heart will be but those are the breaks.

I hope it doesn't as well, having seen him at Casey a couple of times I think he is some ways off AFL standard yet. I think a game this early might set him back a bit. However, no Martin and he is probably in for better or worse.

Yes you are allowed to have your own opinion. I thought that was what Demonland was all about. The trouble with some late bloomers WYL is they leave it so late we never get to see it.

Thanks BB I knew someone would find the game I missed. Was on a cruise at the time. Yes I know it is a tough life but someone has to do it. Now back to Bennell so that I do not "bash" him again what would you say constitutes a "good " game for him tomorrow? Not being a smart arse I would just like to know your thoughts.

It is a matter of opinion what constutues "bashing", However if I give my opinion that I do not believe Bennell has what it takes, and you believe it is "bashing", well so be it. As I said before it is only my opinion Right or wrong. Thank you Master.
