  1. I may have missed it but have there been any comments on what GWS are offering for Oliver?
  2. A bit young for me NC.
  3. The whole contract system is a joke. It seems to me it is only binding when it suits the player. Some of these long contracts currently being offered are ridiculous. Take Oliver, the club tells him his role will change next year, he spits the dummy and wants out. If he does achieve this desire he can claim mental problems and simply refuse to take the field. The MFC has no choice but to pay him. IMO if a player wants out and club agrees then the contract should end there and he negotiates a new deal with the new club. This porting your salary from the old team to the new one is [censored].
  4. I don't want to see either leave but imo it is past the point of no return. So why would gcs want to lose him. There is more games ahead of him than trac, they are probably paying him substantial less as well. Is there any reliable info that he wants to leave?
  5. I have seen nothing that suggests there are quality mids available. The only player we are showing interest in is the guy from GCS and he is a forward. Like it or leave it the replacements for trac and Oliver are going to come from the within, the last couple of years recruits will need to step up.
  6. There lies the question what is a fair deal for the MFC? It seems to me that GCS are holding most of the cards, how badly do we want him back, I suspect not at all. Talk of having him back IMO is to try and strength out position. He has played his last game at the MFC.
  7. We both know that this is just mfc's starting position in dealing . At this point there is next to no chance of that happening BB. He will be at GCS the only thing up for decision is the cost to GCS. We will hang in there till close to the end then take the offered deal. I suspect that GCS would like him but not at to high a price. That I know of no price has been nominated at this point so I have no idea what we see as a good deal. 2 high draft picks and only paying a small amount of his salary seems a good outcome.
  8. Imagine if we took the take it or leave it attitude and they left it. I can already hear the screams of sack the FD, pres, coach and the board.
  9. And probably never will.
  10. Except we created the position we find ourselves. It would different if Oliver had said I want out but he didn't. We were IMO ham fisted with how we handled this, again IMO he has the moral high ground.
  11. PF are you 100% commited to that statement? Second if we used your suggested methods we would end up with nothing re the X Essendon [censored] who just got everyone's back up and largely got very little for the bombers. It's a give and take affair. Also we told Oliver to look around so he holds the moral hi ground. On the last day it will be who blinks first. GWS would like him if the cost is reasonable if it is not we are left with a guy who cannot come back and will use mental problems ( he has history on his side) and we will have to pay him a $million for zero return.
  12. My father used to tell me never issue a threat unless you are 100% commited to follow through with it. Over the last 65 years there have been many many times I felt like saying I am over this club and walk. However there was that little 0.5% that reminded me I would come back and hear I am.
  13. Yes I could have worded it better. Kentfield is untride at senior level. However I think those are our KPF's for 2026.
  14. BR I think you can leave out Jefferson he is not a senior level player. That leaves JVR, Miho and Kentfield as as our kpf,s as binman keeps telling me in today's football that is enough. I pray JVR has some development left in him
  15. Yes but they would all be high 20's and probably worse in the year Tassie gets all the picks.
  16. Sadly we don't want a situation like the dogs have had this year where a player just doesn't play and we have to pay him. Clear him to gws for whatever we can get. The alternative is a disaster.
  17. With Oliver we need to be careful that we don't end up in the same position the dogs found themselves in 2 years in a row. Paying for a guy who won't play and we have to pay big dollars. We may not get the best deal from GWS but it maybe better than being stuck playing big dollars for zero.
  18. A few years ago, on the back the Weids 2 good finals games we told Tmac to look around because they could not guarantee games in the future. He stayed thank god and has been a good player ever since, including 2 goals in grand final winning team. Who knows what 2026 will bring.
  19. First I have to declare that don't take much notice of the GCS. So it maybe no surprise that I had not heard of Humphrey until this trade period started. How good is he? It would appear that the wraps are good.
  20. No takers, it would appear the word has got around.
  21. That being the case why would they trade him?
  22. Spot on and we'll put Dr.
