  1. No... we have to delist THREE. Minimum. There is no reason we need to delist 4-5.
  2. Personally, I see no reason to change a side that beat he Swans by 73 points. If players are coming back from injury, no matter who it is, I don't think it's unreasonable to have them find touch and fitness in the VFL.
  3. Oh no. Don't tell the Anti-American brigade - it's now called a "combine"! Run for the hills! Soon we'll all be eating big macs and watching 2 and a Half Men!
  4. Possibly. And Scott West came from...
  5. Can Bail still get a nod? I had it in my mind he was too old.
  6. It's all relative to the other players performances, roles and availability. I think he did quite well, but was he good enough to keep Moloney, Trengove or Junior out of the side? I doubt it. Was he better than any of the others demons players on the field that day? Maybe a few, but certainly not all of them. Was he better than the other players that are available to play his role, whether they played that day or not? Good question. For now, I'd say no. Depends on who is fit. But i'd like to see him keep his spot if at all reasonable.
  7. What happens if it gets dropped? What happens if it breaks open? - having not seen the tin up close, it could have an easily removable lid What happens if it disappears? - it could get dropped and roll around and be slipped into someone's bag before anyone notices what happened. What happens if a note isn't pushed in properly and it gets taken out by someone? What happens if an argument starts because someone accuses another of doing that, whether correct or not? What happens when it gets to someone who is ridiculously slow in realising what is going on/ incredibly slow finding their money / passing it on? What happens when it gets to an aisle that has big gaps so people need to stand up and shuffle along to pass it to the next person? - this will make the whole process take a lot longer and potentially make it harder for some people to donate. What happens when it gets passed through to opposition supporters who resent our club for some reason/think they are clever/funny and do something incorrect with the tin? What happens when people in general just get confused about what they are supposed to? A lot of these scenarios are a bit far-fetched, but they are far from impossible. The more people handling a tin full of money, the more potential problems that arise and the more people you have to trust to do the right thing. Just the potential for drawing our the process and logjams make me want to avoid it. Well-organised and motivated volunteers are the key. (and enough of them)
  8. Yeah, don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but he is built better than Scarlett and quicker off the mark too. Once he gets that experience up... look out.
  9. Can't please everyone - might as well please the ones that are creating new members!
  10. But what on earth does that have to do with us being the next "superpower"? He didn't say we are, he said we will be.
  11. Exactly. That's the point.
  12. Space and time -- we had plenty of it. We make the extra handball when we are under pressure from the opposition. It is true that we play better when we don't handball as much, but that is more borne of necessity. Sydney focus on stoppages but were no match for us once we got the ball out and ran it on the open spaces of the G. I wouldn't expect too many more wins like this too soon. I think we're just fortunate we match up against the Swans really well.
  13. I still think he'll be a HBF / winger mostly. Like Jarrod Harbrow.
  14. haha I like that redleg, very nice.
  15. Loved loved LOVED his game yesterday - still can't kick. I've always said I can't fault his endeavour, and I still can't, but his disposal is still shocking and a liability. He is definitely proving that he is worth keeping beyond this season, but I'm still a long way from being convinced he can contribute to a premiership winning team. I'm not sure you can afford to have a player on the field where you can't let the ball get into his hands.
  16. Benny - how hard is that? Benny and the Jett. Too easy.
  17. Yes, well they do say that travel broadens the mind. I find that often the opposite is also true.
  18. Loved that one. Derek Kickett had a good day too from memory... or at least he featured heavily. Tingay, Viney, the Ox, Sean Charles... so many great names putting in memorable peformances.
  19. I have it on good authority that neither Watts nor Ablett will be heading to the GC.
  20. BT has a point there, but why has she jumped the queue? The only point of difference is that she is female... and she has a bloody awful voice to listen to. I try not to be overly critical, but the simple fact is that I turn the footy off (or at least the sound) when she is commentating. I don't even have to think about it. No deliberation.
  21. Watts even got some love from Mark Robinson(!) in his rubbish article he does every Monday. All he said was that he'd take Watts over Naitanui though. Not worth reading.
  22. Spot on. But MacDonald should stay in the team for now. He will not be on our list for many more years to come, but we should not let impatience remove him from the team ahead of time. It won't help our kids progression by fielding a team with no experience so they end up out of their depth.
  23. Thank god for that. I was a bit worried for a second there...
  24. It will mean it will be even more insufferable on this forum when we eventually have another loss, because too many people will think we are ahead of where we actually are as a side. Having said that, I hope we win.
