  1. Lauren Jackson should stay in the WNBA
  2. This is what I was talking about in regards to poor articles that twist the truth. I'm fairly certain that in one of CS's recent Whiteboard Wednesdays he has clearly stated we are current only paying 92.5% of the cap. If I had the time I'd watch through them to make sure. Right now I don't.
  3. I think he's right. I'll try to find the article where I read it. Actually, from memory, I think CS mentioned it in one of his whiteboard wednesdays.
  4. This is my understanding. Newspaper articles have been written to mislead us with their wording, but we still have a lot of room to play with and are not paying the full cap to kids with no scope for them to improve their earnings.
  5. Rucking depends on timing and technique. First and foremost.
  6. I find it amazing some of the clubs saying they haven't yet discussed the issue of player retention with the new teams coming in! Forward planning much?
  7. Well no CEO can complain because they all agreed to them just the same. Schwab didn't make these rules on his own.
  8. You're a nasty piece of work, aren't you? Bad day was it? Anything constructive to add, or are you just going to continue with slating the posts of others without providing anything of substance? Simply stated, I've seen much much better from Morton than I have from Masten. I don't see where Masten's scope for improvement is to come from, but I can clearly see it with Cale. Anything decent to respond with? or is that too hard for you?
  9. Sounds like a new hotspot. Sounds like it could be a degenerative injury just like Egan's. Sounds like his career is over. Honestly, this is how vicious incorrect rumours get started. He went off and went back in again. Maybe he had a stone in his shoe. Who knows. Ridiculous conjecture.
  10. ..? I think you're biased against one eyed supporters! In all honesty, I agree - Morton is a hell of a lot better than Masten. No question.
  11. THank god I'll be at the game - I'd hate to have to listen to Kelli butcher another match
  12. I don't think Gysberts will come in this week after a week off and when few deserve to lose their spot. He'll probably play the following week after a tough game where some are sure to struggle and put their place in jeopardy. Jetta must stay in. I don't think Wona will. Warnock must return. Bate and Bruce pending fitness. There are some tough decisions to be made. And Hughes is unlikely to come back in anytime soon. Sorry Danny.
  13. Bit rough. I agree that others will overtake him, but "list clogger" he is not. Over time it may be true, but right now definitely not. Without him we'd have lost a few more games. Not saying we won because of him, but I doubt we have the players who could have performed the role he did in a few wins. I think at the moment it is more important for the team's development that we've won those games rather than get a few more matches into Strauss or Cheney. For now.
  14. 6. Jetta 5. Jamar 4. Bennell 3. Miller 2. McDonald 1. Davey
  15. The more meat on his bones the better. I just love the fact he is finally starting to fill out. I was scared he'd be another Cameron Bruce.
  16. I like the look of Grant. Not too dissimilar to Watts, although I think Watts has greater scope to be a star. He'll be a gun for the doggies - they are one of the teams we really need to watch out for in the coming years. F/S pick in Wallis & Libba when other teams are drafting scraps will see their time at the top extended.
  17. Some were hesitant to let Buckley go!
  18. Its a moot point anyway - I won't concede. And even if Schwab himself were to come on this thread and throw his support behind Green as a leader, I'd just say "well of course YOU'd say that." This is a stalemate.
  19. True, but this discussion is purely based on the perceptions of a supporter, otherwise there is no point having the discussion. (I definitely do not presume to know more than the football department) And once again, just because the other players elected him as one the best leaders at the club does not make him a good leader. We have great potential for leadership amongst our very young players, but our older or middle-tier players are mostly found wanting in this regard.
  20. Not necessarily - covered above.
  21. THIS. How about motivation? Communication? Organization? Inspiration? How about leading by example, but not in terms of courageous efforts? How about showing the other boys they need to work SMARTER rather than just HARDER? Green does a lot of things well, but I'm still not convinced in him as a leader. In fact, very few of our players have me convinced in this respect. I concede that in the end I am not the one they must convince. However I do not accept the argument that the players have voted him into the leadership group and therefore he must be a good one. On a list bereft of decent senior leadership (bar junior) I don't see that as a ringing endorsement.
  22. Exactly. I was quite succinctly expressing my opinion that the ideas put forward in this thread are hogwash. Anything to add?
