Goodwin: 'We were the worst side in the history of the game'
Supermercado replied to Lord Nev's topic in Melbourne Demons
Couldn't get a priority pick though. -
I was pessimistic before last week because going 0-2 would have put us in a huge hole, but after winning these two games and having Lauren Pearce and Lily Mithen to come back in the only thing that concerns me is the lack of an accurate forward target. Difficult conditions the last two weeks but Cunningham has barely fired a shot and Shelley Scott's set shots ruin her excellent work to get to the ball in the first place. Need to follow on from last night and kick goals from a variety of sources.

Daisy and Paxman are superb. If we don't have a genuine tilt at a flag before they go there should be an inquest.

Doomsday scenario is we're 21-0 and the season gets cancelled due to a deadly pandemic

Male players may give up cash to fund AFLW pay rises
Supermercado replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Forget the AFLW debate, what about this: Might be a positive for some but won't do much for me. Current game length worth carting myself across town for, less attractive travelling in and out for 90 minutes of game time. I bet you the AFL will give over to this in a heartbeat in the hope that more people will stay home, the ratings will go up and the next broadcast deal will bring in a motza. Will also ensure we never lose either of the top two record VFL/AFL losses ? -
Kade Kolodjashnij on Battling Concussion
Supermercado replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Shocking luck. I know it would be hard to turn back relatively big money but probably getting close to the point where he needs to give it away for his own good. -
There's no way they're sending a Victorian team there - imagine having fans from the south, fans from the north and fans from Victoria all having to be catered for. My prediction is that they won't want 20 teams so a Victorian club will be merged with Gold Coast (ironic if North, but I'd want to keep our finances above float just in case) to pump them up, opening the space for a brand new club to start in Tasmania.

Friends, it's time for the only democratic institution you can still have faith in. Where we ask you to make an arbitrary decision on a matchup between two or more Melbourne players, and eventually uncover a people's champion. Rules The voting criteria for each match-up is your personal business. It need not have anything to do with football if you don't want it to, but if does then the best of British luck to you. We won't ask questions, and nor should anyone else. Vote shamers will be denounced. Voting will be conducted between 0700 and 1900 AEDST unless otherwise noted You must cast a valid vote for every match that day or none of your votes on that day's matches will count. You must pick a winner in every match up. No half votes, no "I can't split them". Yes you can, and you must. Non-MFC fans are welcome to vote as long as you follow all other rules In the event of a tie both players will advance to the next round, except in the case of the Grand Final where a replay will be held the following day. If a match features three or more players and two or more tie for the most votes they will advance with all other players eliminated. We reserve the right to refuse an excessive number of multiple votes from the same person using multiple accounts Voting will be conducted in an open format via Twitter, BigFooty, Demonland and Facebook. If you're intensely private, hate social media, or just want to join the list of email voters email demonblogger AT gmail.com. Harley Bennell is not eligible (unless he's signed by 18:00 Friday night) as he not currently an MFC listed player. The decision of the Demonbracket Organising Committee is final.
