  1. I already hated this concept, then Tholstrup picked the worst song ever recorded. P.S - Do other teams still play the songs even when they're getting thrashed? It would be comical if a side was 87 points down with 10 seconds to go, kicked their fourth goal of the day, and it set off Let Me Entertain You.
  2. I'm sure hundreds of options have been considered, but I'd be interested to know if we've had a crack at being included in the Fisherman's Bend development. Surely we're more chance of getting serious government money for opening a facility in a new precinct while some tacked on community stuff than developing anything in an established area. Added bonus - it's a city location, and could be somewhere to play VFL/AFLW games. I hadn't paid much attention to the Caulfield plan until recently because it's like waiting for airport rail or a fast train to Sydney, but got interested when the Waverley story came out. The last update on the website is from September 2024, and it doesn't explain the benefits of Caulfield other than we want to build somewhere, and this is somewhere that might let us build. Now that Waverley is on the agenda, I think they need to justify why the cost of Caulfield outweighs a combination of Waverley/Casey. Obviously a custom facility would be better, but is it $70 million worth of better? The people who have done proper work on this project know more than I do, but I hope we're not getting caught in a rush of executives and board members wanting to be the person who finally delivers the holy grail of an MFC home venue regardless of cost. P.S - As a bonus feature, here's the bit of the FAQ where they ran out of content and had to fill space.
  3. Somebody else can have the centre bounces, as long as Max is still there to save our bacon with massive contested marks around the ground.
  4. The problem is that the AFL focuses on how good it looks when 80,000 people are in the MCG going bananas over a home and away game, and forget that for every blockbuster there's a lot of games involving drab, unglamorous clubs that can't be sizzled up. They can play 100% Hits Volume 18 after every goal, it's still going to look terrible when the top of the Ponsford (and the Southern on days when the MCC feels particularly tight) is shut, making a respectable 25-30k crowd come across on TV like 5000 because most people are on the camera side of the ground.
  5. I was 100% sucked in when he wanted to be the hardest team to play against. Then we became the hardest team to watch.
  6. Sounds like joining Moe is a risky decision.
  7. Neeld gave off mad vibes right away. Unfortunately, I misinterpreted it as the variety of mad that would convince men to follow him through brick walls, not call them weak when they bounced off.
  8. Shameless widespread acceptance of, and interest in, the Wildcard Game when we're mired in mid-table mediocrity late in the season* * I'll fall for it too.
  9. Nobody had a better sense of when to be funny (and had the skill to pull it off, unlike some of the buffoons doing commentary now) and when to be serious. He'd have been great on a show like AFL360.
  10. I'd like to withdraw 51% of my objections after finding out they were only filming post-Goodwin. Imagine the content if Gawn was mic'ed up during the St Kilda debacle.
  11. Finally, the AI-native fintech collaboration we've been waiting for.
  12. Bailey Laurie will be playing the part of Dennis Stamp.
  13. Did we get paid to do this, or did some lunatic sign up thinking last season was going to be a heartwarming redemption story?
  14. This is the sort of thing that if Hawthorn are good he'll be hailed as a trailblazing genius, and if they're [censored] people will go over the top and carry on like he's been asking ChatGPT for coaching advice.
  15. Until the footy came back and the clowns forced everyone to sit in the same part of the ground.
  16. Viney and foot injuries - name a more iconic duo.
  17. Now that one of our main sponsors is a fuel card this is more like the Melbourne I'm familiar with.
  18. Once he finds out it wasn't Pickett and Jackson's first year he'll take more points off.
  19. Any excuse to replay one of the great incidents.
  20. It's had a few nervous moments recently but should be working again now*. (* except for the link to the image galleries which I'm looking into at the moment)
  21. I'm 100% pro-Nifty, but it helps when you're coaching a Division 3 team and can wheel Eddie Betts in as a guest player during the year* * not at all bitter that my local team lost the Grand Final to them.
  22. We Are The Demons The Mighty Demons From The MCG We've Got Nothing To Do With Any Company Related To Energy
  23. Please god no efforts at introducing Port Adelaide style community singing. It bombed when Collingwood tried it even though a) they've got lots of fans, and b) the fans are so wound up for the cause they'd kill somebody if instructed. There is no way for us to pull this off without it being all-time cringeworthy. I hope he writes the 21st equivalent of Good Vibrations, but just play it over the PA thanks. P.S - If we always played at night and you could dim the lights then do big FO pyro as they hit the banner I think the Kane WWE entrance music would be a good walk-on song. Like almost every other element of entertainment at a sporting event it wouldn't be as good during the day.
  24. At least the scandals are happening well before the season so we don't have to cover their logo for Round 1 with black sticky tape Energy Watch style.
