  1. Inaccuracy doesn't help, but like inside 50s, hitouts etc... I think this is a stat that needs a second level of analysis. It's one thing to miss from 50 metres out on the boundary or from a speculative snap, and another to miss from 30 out directly in front. I'd like to see many of those points are missed set shots from angle/distance where you'd expect them to go through and how many are aimless long bombs to the square that go through off hands.
  2. If I'd known it was him I wouldn't have bothered fact checking, they have an alternative history on his planet.
  3. Don't know what measurement they're going off, but it's been worse plenty of times. Having said that, a lot of the 1970s-1990 seasons had way higher average scores than now so they had more shots. It hasn't been this bad with scores so low since the early 1960s. Let's get it back to the 38.21% of 1900 and try to win the flag again.
  4. Good day to either keep the opposition to 2.8 or lose after only kicking five goals ourselves.
  5. At this rate, not be there to see it.
  6. And Gawn will take another eight contested marks.
  7. To be honest it was cobbled together pretty quickly so no wonder there's a few fiascos.
  8. I only took post-1980 debuts or it was going to get messy but agree Fowler would rank highly.
  9. Just realised the list doesn't have Pedersen either. Slot him in around the late 20s and once I've sorted out who else is missing I'll reissue.
  10. If the publisher decides an audiobook is worthwhile I want SEN legend Chris from Camberwell to voice it!
  11. Thank you, just realised I didn't have him on my St Kilda list so have added now. @binman - Incorrectly had Icke in my 1970s North list. Can't edit the original post anymore so here's a new version of the list. We're approaching the ton of recycled players. Jeff White Brian Wilson Darren Bennett Brent Moloney Anthony Ingerson Steven May* Clint Bizzell Ed Langdon* Jake Lever* Stephen Icke Peter Moore Shane Zantuck Bernie Vince Michael Hibberd* Marcus Seecamp Peter Rohde Brent Crosswell Shaun Smith Jake Melksham* Jeff Garlett Kelvin Templeton Daniel Cross Jordan Lewis Peter Vardy Ben Holland Dom Tyson Jamie Shanahan Sam Frost Paul Johnson Adam Tomlinson* Jeff Hilton Cameron Clayton Steven Clark Byron Pickett David Flintoff Paul Bryce Chris Heffernan Mitch Clark Phil Read Matthew Collins Chris Dawes Tomas Bugg Heritier Lumumba Dean Irving Craig Ellis Michael Pickering Alastair Clarkson Paul Payne Doug Koop Bill Nettlefold Shannon Byrnes James Sellar Greg Doyle Phil Carman Scott Chisholm Craig Turley Dean Chiron Andy Goodwin Ben Kennedy Ben Newton Rod Owen Phil Pinnell Nigel Kol Rodney Wright Harley Bennell Viv Michie Corey Wagner Robert Pyman Shannon Motlop Braydon Preuss Craig Nettelbeck Xavier Tanner James Cook Vin Catoggio Ross Funcke Mitch Brown* Aidan Riley Michael Young Ben Brown* David Rodan Les Parish Darryl Cox David Grant Adrian Campbell Steven Pitt John Meesen Stuart Cameron Gary Moorcroft Nick Carter Nick Pesch Trevor Spencer Kade Kolodjashnij Martin Heppell Wayne Henwood Peter Kiel Phil Egan Tom Gillies
  12. Didn't play in the 88 GF! Did he club him at some point during the '87 PF? There are a couple of small changes I'd make on second thoughts but he only played 17 games so can't justify having him much higher than mid-table. @whatwhat say what - I was a Collins fan, and thought it was BS that he didn't get another go after leaving us, but he did really only play half a really good season for us.
  13. As promised on the podcast here are my rankings of imported players since 1980. The criteria is plucked from thin air. Hopefully I haven't missed anyone. Probably a bit of recency bias at the top but that's what happens when most of the last 40 years have been a disaster. 14. Don't have an image of '88, but here's the unused 2000 poster. More here.
  15. Thank you! For anybody who's keen the audio is here. Nice to be on SEN for the first time not answering a quiz or whinging on the talkback line.
  16. I'm betting heavily on some sort of zones at stoppages. Will be putrid.
  17. More Jason Bennett please. Criminally underused by Seven until the last few weeks.
  18. I can't blame the commentators because they just read whatever fun fact is put in front of them, but a bit of a [censored]-up by the research department.
  19. What about when their researcher stuffed up and thought Wayne Reid was a player as well as an ex-president? Assuming they mixed him up with Wayne Gordon. Not the worst thing Channel 7 has ever done but still a shambolic attempt at a tribute. But for the rest of last night, any commentary box without BT is an improvement. I wouldn't pick McLachlan or Brayshaw at the top of the commentator draft but Taylor is such a buffoon that he brings everyone down with him.
  20. I'm sure he'd give a good account of himself as required, but 43 goals in 54 games suggests he's not going to be the difference. (Yes, I know he played in defence for a bit. Point stands).
  21. Hello all, apologies for dragging this thread up for another plug, but the book is scheduled to be in bookstores tomorrow. Make a scene if yours doesn't carry it. I spoke to Radio TAB about it this morning. Fortunately they didn't ask for my views on the Globe Derby quaddie.
  22. Days ending in y have been a bad luck charm for us most years. Knowing who any of the umpires are other than the celebrities like Razor Ray is weird.
  23. When McDonald took that shot the wind was blowing right across the ground (and immediately into my face), I wonder if that played into it after a couple of set shot misses in recent weeks.
  24. Weid has kicked six in his last 10 starts. I desperately want him to become a key player but he went missing towards the end of last year (after quite a few good games) and has never been found.
