Glad we all dffer on quality of players,whilst, I understand and agree somewhat what has been stated above, Scully is a flashy player whilst Viney is a hard nose get in get it footballer.I feel he will prove to be a better footballer than Scully and definitely the type who will blend in with the new coach and blend in with Trengove and Tapscott. We have others that Viney suits with Gysberts, Evans, Blease the run off types. He'll make the likes of Scully look like [censored].

I was there yesterday and thought Jack played a sold game without starring. Kicking needs more depth at times.But guts & determination - he doesn't lack.

You maybe on the ball with what you stated above.Just hope it comes true or at least Pendles comes as captain.

WJ, respect your thoughts however where do you see Chris Connolly's role if this did eventuate.I thought if we didn't get a Malthouse type re a very experienced coach then we may have gone with a Burns or a Neeld but utilized C.C'S experience and current knowledge of the list along with Viney.

Eade maybe favourite but I would not be surprised if Lyon was appointed.Maybe Harvey may join us as Defence coach.

Maybe we did know- but offering him a decent sum and making GWS up the ante gave us the two first round picks--maybe we could say we out smarted them. I genuinely believe we have come out the winner. Scully will not be deemed as the one of the best in 2011. He would not even get in the best 100.Maybe in the best 150 .. but to compare him to Ablett is a farce.Yet we get the same compensation. I don't thionk it was wiser but I feel we have benefited strongly in the deal.Scully is definately a risk and now we can sit back and gain a two for one first round pick.We need to obtain a similar type to a Martin fron Richmond type.And if Jack Viney can end up around 183/4 cms tall- we have one.

We have a plethora of developing mids now- throw in Viney and gee-I think we need just one more- an experienced mid leader such as a Jordon Lewis or a Kelly from Geelong type to educate them.Our major weakness is in the coaching ranks and that's where we need to invest in most -along with the recruiting of a versatile tall- such as a Jack Gunston to go with our list now.An Elton would just icing on the cake..

With Junior going up to Sydney ,just shows what a pitiful decision our football department did last year sacking him, Miller and letting Bruce all go at the same time.Pitiful in my opinion.Every team needs experience and we chucked ours out.

I disagree- we have a very good young mid field group developing now, add in Viney and we seem to have a good mix. We need to have a go at O'Meara but we don't need to offer the kitchen sink for him.
