One player I haven't heard much of in the last few training reports is vandenBerg, how is he travelling?

Kent and Salem will go to another level and star. Hunt will be the surprise packet of the season, and I suspect that Trengove and Grimes might be very solid contributors this year.

If Dwyane Russell and David King disappeared from TV and Radio land I'd be a very happy man.

After reading all the training reports and seeing how Jayden was burning off most of his team mates, I nominate him as my big smokey for this year.....Real outside speed is what we are desperate for and with Hunt and Kennedy now in the mix along with a fit Kent, it looks really exciting for the up coming season.

Knowing Roos, he will wait untill the last minute to promote a rookie, let them battle it out in the Pre season games and see who wants it the most......my money's on White though.

I'd expect Mitch White to be elevated now....like for like as both play the half back role.

Watching the last game last year against the GWS, I can't help but feel it was some sort of turning point. TheGiants are probably slightly ahead of us , with a very talented list list, but our very young team , beat them and beat them well that day , and the future was on show with Hogan, Harmes ,White, Stretch,Viney ,Neal Bullen ,Oscar Mac ,and a few others really showing the footy world the talent we have got. The last time I felt like that was when I saw a young group consisting of Stynes ,Lyon,Viney Scwarz etc, who went on to be a very good side.

I thought those highlights were great stuff. Makes you realise how many times in crunch situations he kicked important goals. There is still no one better in our side who I would rather have the ball in hand than Jack Watts except maybe ,Bernie Vince and the up and coming Salem.

This is good news, and I think there is a definite strategy by MFC , whether we eventually land Wines and Prestia or not, there's no doubt we have been in their ear for a couple of years now. The ties are obvious with the Wines and Viney families, and the Prestia family being big supporters of the club. We may have traded our first pick next year, knowing that to complete the puzzle we had one of Prestia or Wines, or both, coming in 2017.

The minute I saw him running to board a tram on his way to pre season training I knew we had a player.

The minute I saw him run on the ground in round one I knew we had a player here.

I'm so looking forward to the day Trenners runs out on the G with the boys again......it will be a very emotional return.

The strategy seems to be clear that we are putting together a team of competitive beasts.

I doubt whether he would play Full forward or Centre half forward to begin with. The Roos way is to play the kids on the flanks and pockets to ease them in. If his pre season or Casey form is very good he will probably get a few games as third tall.
