Geez....Imagine Viney, Vandenberg,Brayshaw,Petracca and Oliver in a few years time, monstering the opposition to our first flag in 40 years, with Hogan and Weideman picking em off in the air. We have a plan , and I like it.....alot.

He has an awesome pair of hands and seems pretty clever too, perfect foil for Hoan. -
One thing I'm happy about is that we are building a team of competitive beasts, we will not be pushovers anymore.
-
Goody just said we will take best available with 3 and 7 and not neccasarily a forward, so we could end up with Oliver and Francis

Why would Parish slag off Essendon and say Melbourne were really nice? Maybe we told him we are going to take him? -

I still feel we will pick up Parish over Oliver though as he is more of what we need, and has a longer more consistent body of work. -
Very weird leaving out Weideman and Francis in this poll , I would have thought they would be huge chances to be picked up at 7

I still think Parish suits our needs more, with his pace and zip. Oliver although tough looks a little slowish to me. I think we have enough of the grunt types with Viney, Petracca,Vandenberg,Brayshaw and Jones -
Love Crayshaw.

Exactly, development is just as important as recruiting , even more perhaps. I like we way we are going about it , by protecting the young guys playing them in the pockets and flanks untill they are developed for more game game in the middle or key positions. Hogan being an exception as he is such a beast.

I believe Salem is ear marked to move into the midfield this year, where I think he will thrive.....watch out for a huge year from him as well.
-
I think Harmes will be a gun next year, after seeing him in that last game against GWS clunking those big pack marks , and just his aggression and appetite for the ball and the contest....reckon he could be something special.
-
I think he should take a leaf out of Nat Fyfes book who said in his Brownlow acceptance speech, that at the start of last years pre season he went to the fitness coordinator and said he wanted to be a more powerful and stronger player, and worked really hard at it.
-
He looks like an Altar boy, so the name Parish is very apt.
-
I think if he can improve his core strength and become a more powerful player, then yes he should be a regular but he has to keep getting stronger and he should with age anyway.
-
He reminds me of a Sammy Mitchell but quicker

One thing I'll say about our recruiting strategy with the first two picks ,is that we pick the ones most likely to succeed rather than recruit on a hunch or a "could develop into something " ,as I don't believe we can afford to take a gamble. Save that for the later picks. -

Actually reminds me a helluva lot like Jordie Mckenzie in the way he moves. -

Ha ha this is a beauty, he happens to be the boyfriend of one of my daughter's best mates. Seen him play basketball quite a few times and he has won best a couple of best and fairest with one of our local footy clubs. He is lightning quick for his size and has a huge leap on him, top kid too.- 165 replies

We have a lot of one paced mids, but we don't have many with a bit of zip and pace around the packs. We got Melksham to be a runner off half back and Kennedy to add a bit of Brent Harvey like pace around the stoppages, and Parish just gives us another of that type. It's all about balance and options, as well as pressure for spots. We seem to have the grunt in Jones, Viney, Vandenberg etc, big bodied power in Brayshaw and Petracca, Skill with Salem and Vince, but we need pace and run.
-
My only query is that we may be looking for someone taller ,to be a pure second forward and help out with the Ruck duties.
-
After watching all the highlights, I'd go for Parish at 3 and Francis at 7. Parish is just what we need as far as some real zip in the middle and around the packs, and Francis will be a perfect foil for Hogan because he looks very strong physically and looks a good pack Mark who is strong at the contest , very smart and looks to work up the ground.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you just might find you get what you need.
