There are definate reasons for optimism this season. Pre season indicates that the players are getting used to the game plan and playing with more purpose and confidence. Goodwin has added a more attacking element, and our recruiting has added a few more players who should put pressure on for spots. Hogan, Gawn and Viney are ready to explode, and Oliver looks a genuine star in the making. Petracca is the trump card....and Jones reckons he is the most powerful young player he has seen on the track . I think we will be thereabouts, either just in or just out of the eight, but we need a good start with wins against GWS and the Bombers in the first two rounds to get us off to a good start.

He was the best young talent I ever saw . Could have been as good if not better than Carey.had a huge leap and could turn players inside out with his smarts. I was gutted when he did his first knee, and shattered when he did it again , he was going to be a genuine AA+ Superstar.

I think the Jury is still out on Frost. Not sure if he will make round one from what I've seen, as I don't really think he has the smarts to play up forward. id love to see him played down back for a while as he is a good runner and reads the play well when defending. Pederson should definately be our second tall forward ruck option with Watts and Vanders as 3rd and fourth tall forward options. Add Kent ,Kennedy and Garlett up forward with Hogan I think that's a pretty potent attack.

Amazing really. Weve been talking about this kid since he was about 12 years old and now he has a few seasons under his belt and ready to tear the competition apart. Couldnt be more chuffed.

You'd have to think that Viney and Brayshaw are the two candidates for future captain of this club.

I don't believe age matters in the case of Viney. He should be in this years leadership group and earmarked as a future captain. He is driven and will lead this team to success.

Viney was better than both of them combined. Oliver already has me salivating at how good he is going to be in a year or two.

His intent was there and he chased very hard....but he definately looks harder at the contest this year.

What I loved about Wattsys game were the contested possessions, pack marks and tackling.

Just watched the replay again, and we have a couple of genuine stars in the making in Kent and Vandenberg. Love these two players as they have talent X factor and fierce competitiveness,my son thinks I'm Gay, because I rabbit on about them so much. Dunstall and Ricciuto were going on about our smart recruiting....the tables are turning.

Very happy with the way Kennedy turned his game around in the second half. Kent and Vanders are guns full stop. Pederson is my pick for the centre half forward position as I feel he is more reliable than Dawes or Frost and can ruck. Very encouraging gutsy fightback performance without Hogan or Salem getting a lot of it and with Vince and Jones out. Oliver will play a lot more games than first expected as he just has that grunt about him. Gawn will springboard us to a few more wins this season. Viney will arrive this year as our best mid and one of the best in the league. Petracca and Trengove up our sleeve....Weideman too once he builds up some muscle.

Where was the outside pace I heard so much about in preseason with Kennedy, Harmes and Kent? Backline looks very unorganised Hope Brayshaw is ok Oliver looks great

Every chance to be this years smokey and play more games than expected as Brayshaw did last year.

He still has two seasons at the Dees to go in which to build his bond with his team mates and good friends Kenty and Harmesey. Loves Melbourne and Perth is a pretty boring place in comparison for a young fella chasing his dreams. i get the feeling he is a pretty loyal bloke.

i wonder if the coaches are trying to get that silly thing out of Tmacs game where he always trys to take on his opponent , looks slow amd gets caught most times.
