It would be great if we could snare Dangerfield, and then use him for depth, just in case a Terlich or Matty Jones get injured.
-
I agree and I am willing to state that after reading hundreds of posts on possible trades that no one has been traded as yet.
-
Frawley should just be enjoying the moment . Taking a cheap shot at Melbourne just shows a complete lack of class by the guy.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
DeeZee replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Big Fish could be someone out of left field like a Tom Mitchell,Hannebrry,Josh Kennedy. Or maybe it is some from like a Bennell, Omeara or Prestia. Got a gut feeling it is some one North of the border though, either a Swan, Giant, Sun or Lion. -
It's kinda like Hogan, I just know he will be good.....even Hogan backs him in himself. But also just hoping I guess, as he was rated higher than Gus Brayshaw and he really looks the goods so I'm pretty confident Petracca will be a gun. Also watched him a lot at training and he is a monster big bodied mid with lots of power. I'll back him in any day.

Is Dangerfield playing in this weeks Prelim? Is Treloar? is Bennell? Of course the answer is no, because it takes more than one good player it takes a team mainly built up of home grown talent and when they start performing and looking the goods, they then attract good players to the club and they stay strong. I'll back Petracca to be our explosive midfield gun, with great support from Jones, Tyson,Viney Brayshaw and co. Then of course we have our sold bookends in Hogan and McDonald and a very good ruckman in big Maxy. If we can pick up a Bastinac and a Melksham for depth and next year snare a Prestia or an O Meara we will be a strong unit. Reminds me of the young crew we had in the late eighties that got us to a grand final, when Viney, Lyon , Schwarz and co ripped up the G. I think we are in good hands and exactly where we should be at this stage, similar to the Hawks five or six years ago If we are lucky enough to snare a Bennell this year then that will fast track us a bit.

Just our luck, in a period where we are cashed up to try and lure somebody, alot of the good players seem to come from WA or Geelong.
-
Apparently he is already very cashed up with his Pubs and property investments.

What I don't get with Jimmy is that he looked so good before he was drafted , and was considered to have elite skills and some toe. But when you see him with the Dees, it reminds me of just before Trengove was diagnosed with his foot problem, where he looked like he was running in concrete shoes. Makes me wonder if he has been carrying some sort of injury the last couple of seasons.

Ok so im having dinner in Hamilton tonight with a friend from Geelong who's wife is best mates with Dangerfields mums hairdresser. 110% signed and sealed going to the Cats six months ago.
-
If we can snare a Bennell and then maybe a Redden, Bastinac or Melksham for some experience and real depth I'd be very happy with the trade period. Then if the recruiters can find another Vandenberg in the form of a tall forward/ruck and some more outside speedy mids to round it off,it would be even better.

You really wouldn't have a clue.
-
Add Treloar to that list.

It's negativity because you were saying that no one wants to come to Melbourne . What if we land someone in this period who wants to come to Melbourne, and is a contracted player? You are a perfect example of a hopeless supporter who revels in shooting those with a little hope of what may come for their beloved team down in flames and sink the boots in. I'm sorry but I'm not the type to get pleasure from that sort of behaviour and would rather talk up the team I love.
-
Possibly but I'd prefer to listen to what Peter Jackson and Paul Roos say about not listening to media noise. Nothing wrong with thinking about positive scenarios . I've seen thousands of posts over the years on Demonland of people that are so sure of themselves,in trade, period, drafting etc. etc.. A lot turned out to be wrong, as you may be and as I may be.....so what? I'm not the first person to hope we snare a big fish ,and if we don't ,life goes on. I know how things work, I've been witness to the inner workings of the AFL at close quarters, and let me tell you that they ain't run by newspapers, journalists and fan bloggers. Anything can happen.

Not really, unless you or wise blood are Jason Taylor or Todd Viney in disguise then it's all speculation. No one knows what is really being said behind the scenes. Don't listen to the noise.

Wrong.....reality means you are dealing in facts, you are just giving an opinion as to what might unfold.

Remember it's still so early in the trade period and I'm trusting Roos,Jason Taylor and Todd Viney It could go some thing like this ,we make a late enquiry about Treloar to his manager and trump Collingwoods offer to him by 100 k a year or something like that . Then we offer a better trade to GWS, maybe the player they have been after in Jeremy Howe, all parties happy, (except the Pies), and deal done. Believe me when I say that ANYTHING can still happen.

One of two things, either there is still truth to all these little rumours or we are talking to Connors about another player he manages.
-
Negativity Negativity Negativity Bernie Vince ,Jeff Garlett, Lumumba and Dawes came to Melbourne so why not? We have a stable coaching structure and a great bunch of young kids led by guys by Hogan and Brayshaw. We also have plenty of money.

Why is he a traitor? People move jobs every day

I think you have me wrong Wiseblood. If you think I'm going to cry if he goes to Geelong you got another think coming. I'm just saying that as Jackson and Roos said, don't listen to the noise, just wait till something actually happens. I'm philosophical and would love to get a good player to the club, whether it be Hartlett, Prestia, Dangerfield , who ever. But I ain't gonna lose any sleep over it pal.
-
I'll believe it when it happens

I've got mail for you Geelong is just down the highway from Melbourne.
