  1. Very happy with this , we now have added some good talent to our midfield brigade and will get two of the best seven youngsters in the land. Well done , Mahoney and co. I think it will be Parish plus Curnow or Weideman. Highly rated quick mid and a forward to help out Hoges.
  2. Could still trade a player or two second rounders for a first rounder or 2017 first rounder for Prestia next year.
  3. Parish and Curnow?
  4. Couldn't possibly be a a Melbourne supporter . Salem is a gun and Tyson ain't going nowhere.
  5. If one of these guys being Bugg ,Kennedy or Melksham ends being a regular senior player we have done well, because Toumpas wasn't and Howe was hot and cold. If two of them fire up we are well ahead. If we trade our picks now and get or selves into a good draft position to pick up who ever it is we have our sights on, like a Parish and they end up giving us a bit of zip then even better. We should be a better and more consistent team next season with more competition for spots.
  6. I've always been a fan of Fitzy as Big tall players that can play back forward and Ruck who can run do not grow on trees. I always thought he offered more than a Dawes, but I suppose that since Terlich and Jones are still contracted we had to make room and I believe he was the unlucky one.
  7. I don't think you get it, I'm not blaming anybody. I just think it sucks how the top teams seem to get all the good players. Saints didn't think he was worth pick 5 , so we will see what Hawthorn give up for him.
  8. True the saints didn't want to part with such a high pick, but the Hawks still get their man don't they? And do you think that is a good thing for the competition?
  9. Hawthorn screws over the bottom clubs once again. The AFL is nothing but a mini premier league, with teams like Geelong, Hawthorn and Sydney having all the leverage and rules in their favour to stay at the top, and play finals year after year after year, while the trading rules ensure the other clubs battle for survival. Equality is a joke.
  10. What it says is that he has agreed to move to the Pies...instead of He has nominated the pies as his preferred club. The latter statement is the reality and the actual statement is really only one in hope.
  11. Our whole plan could be based around getting Parish, and I think it still might happen which is also why we haven't finalised any trades as yet, we will find a way to get pick 3 using a three way trade which includes Collingwood and the Suns or direct trade with the Suns. If we can end up with Kennedy ,Melksham ,Bugg and pick 3 for Parish that is a good bunch of mids to add to the list and therefore a successful trading period. I feel that Prestia will come to us next year to complete our midfield brigade. I'm also banking on Taylor to find a tall forward out of the box with one of our remaining picks, just as he found Vandenberg last year.
  12. I don't why you would delist Cross and recruit Rosa, makes no sense at all.
  13. Would you swap Grimes for him?
  14. These day you don't really think in set positions like full forward and centre half forward. It's more Power forward first option, and second and third tall in the forward line,,small crumbing and medium sized forwards who push into the midfield.
  15. I just think a Howe Prestia swap makes alot of sense, we may have to give up next years 1st round pick as well.
  16. They don't want to be beat by Melbourme again.
  17. I always thought Pederson offered more in both marking prowess and goal kicking ability . Also believed Fitzy or Frost added a little more X factor ,as well as Wattsy so far as having some impact on the scoreboard. Dawesy competed well, but in the end never took enough marks in kicked enough goals. In the last round when we had Oscar down back, I thought Dunn looked really good up forward.
  18. I second this motion.
  19. Ok mate sorry, thought you were havin a dig. All good
  20. This is where you point of view is lacking. No where has it been been speculated or rumoured that we are after Nat Fyfe, Pendelbury or Hannebury. But in the case of Prestia and Parker, they have been mentioned in various media outlets. But I see what you are trying to do, by trying to make the posters that say get it done, and Imagine if we land a big fish or two look silly, by posting outrageous trades. Where you go wrong is using made up stuff like Fyfe etc...in comparison to genuine players posters are discussing because they have been mentioned in the media.
  21. All speculation and hearsay so far Wiseblood. This is a footy forum and if we didn't report or discuss the snippets of information that has been heard in the media at this time of year then what would we talk about. I know you get frustrated by information other than cold hard facts, so maybe you should wait till the trade period is over before you comment , to save your self an ulcer or something. We are allowed to dream about positive outcomes on this site even if they may not occur. If you think we are no chance at all of landing a Prestia or a Parker then fair enough, but no need to lambaste others for hoping.
  22. The Veale deal was a Veal Schnitzel, chips and pot for ten bucks.
  23. Mentioned on 3AW Boy, wouldn't it be great if we landed Parker and Prestia, although I'd be rapt with even one of those.
  24. Looking like Luke Parker is the big fish.
