Just met Gary Baker ex Demon ruckman who owns a restaraunt in Hobart called Rockwall. Top bloke who was one of my heroes as a kid. I had the Barrassi special, which is an Eye fillet steak with melted blue cheese....amazingly good. He sat down and had a chat with me about Dees stuff, he was chuffed that Hoges won the rising star, and we got talking about past champs, and he said Gary Hardeman was one of the most underrated players in the History of the VFL /AFL, played centre half back and regularly beat superstar centre half forwards in his day. A great night, totally unexpected after a good day for the Dees.

It was reported on one of the radio stations this morning that we have asked him in for a medical. Must be seriously considering the big fella. Is it a coincidence he played his best game against us, busting a gut to prove his worth?

With his body size,good overhead skills and aggressive style...imagine what he could be as an on baller once he gets a tank. Along side, vandenBerg , Brayshaw and Petracca, we start to develop that big bodied midfield unit that may be hard to stop in a couple of years.

Hogan should be in the top five , it's just the order of the 3rd 4th and 5th out of Hoges, Jones and Viney,but Vince and Tmac will be top two in my opinion.

Top four will easily be Vince McDonald Jones Viney

Feeling good about next season now.....kids were great today with at least another six players who would fit in that side. A lot of plaudits went to the Saints this year yet we finished above them and showed good improvement this year. On the way up , and hopefully land a big fish in the off season. Go Dees!

When Watts was drafted a good mate if mine who coached Jack in the Victorian side told me that we had made a huge mistake. He said then that Jack was skill full but weak and not made of the right stuff. He also said he had a good carnival before we drafted him as had the best players kicking it to him and just had a purple patch getting on the end of a few. I always gave Jack the benefit of the doubt and hoped he proved my mate wrong, but four years later and all he said has eventuated.

Watts dropped ,Natanui starring. Il admit I was wrong, it's finally time to say Nic Nat is the better player. Geez ,imagine having Nic Nat and Wines instead of Watts and Toumpas.

What are the eligibility rules for playing with Casey in finals? Maybe he needs one more game with them to play, and maybe they want him to play as part of his development like trying him in a new position, or to get finals experience.

Gut feel is Watts dropped as he is going to be traded as part of a deal for a bigger fish.

Ultimate respect for Crossy, he has been a Beauty for this club,his speech gave me a few tears as well, not very often a player that comes from another club so late in his career can do that. Let's hope some of his work ethic rubs off on our young blokes.

Really disappointed with some of the carp that comes out of our coaches mouth. He blames everyone and everything except himself. He said that even after the Geelong win people were coming up to him and saying, well you'll never do that again. What a load of rubbish....after the Geelong win most of us were rapt and saying how great things were looking and hoping we had turned the corner. Believe us Roosy when we tell you, we do not want to be negative at all, in fact we are sick to our stomachs of being negative....please please please, give us a reason to be positive, like win a couple of games in a row, or beat a bottom side, at least.

No, but surely a person is entitled to some Joy in there life!He didn't even want to go to school today because he hates being laughed at and bagged for being a Demon. He and his mates are footy mad......it's tough when you are a footy tragic and your team plays like a bunch of clowns. No it's not life and death, but it is bloody depressing.

With Tyson and Vandenberg out injured and Jones and Vincent both having stinkers,we had our worse half of the year. It wasn't untill we put Newton and Michie in the middle and Jones forward and Vincent down back that we started to play good footy and win the second half by five goals,but by then it was too late of course.
