He has the safest hands in the team .On Saturday night he was the only tall(Max Included ) that didn't drop a straightforward mark .The dropped marks of Lever and Jackson gifted the Saints goals at important stages .He led well and found space .His kicking for goal was a little off but the one he did thread showed that essentially there is nothing wrong with his kicking action .I am a bit surprised by the level of criticism..

It beggars belief that Oscar remained on our list for 8 years .Good luck to him that he got a second chance with the Blues but i have absolutely no regrets in regard to him being delisted .
-
To be fair to the club they did try to trade Oscar prior to delisting him but Oscar had no trade currency .It was obvious in 2019 that Oscar still wasnt up to it but the club honoured the final year of his contract .He has nothing to complain about and the separation should be on good terms ,Oscar has the draft open to him but i think his AFL days are over .

Jack Viney on Re-Signing & Geelong Offer
kallangurdemon replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
the only thing that matters is that he stayed .All the remaining hyperbole is only a distraction and of no consequence . -
No I mean Jack Grimes .Jack Trengrove was a similar tale of woe ,a great player struck down by a seemingly innocuous injury .However I did not rate him as highly as Jack Grimes. If you add Mitch Clark and Jack Viney you will agree that we have been indescribably unlucky with foot injuries .No other club comes close .
-
tough on Jack Grimes.More a case of injury coming rather than talent leaving .Jack until his foot problems was a very talented player .
-
presumably a saab.

We kept Viney and that was the number one concern for me .If we had of got Saad but lost Viney that would have been a complete disaster .
-
gee you are being generous to a number of players.surely kk and jetta and perhaps jones should also retire ,bedford hore chandler and hannan are not required and we should be working to get them off the list , nietschke can be moved to the rookie list . our top 10 are as good as any other in the comp but we have to make sweeping changes to the bottom half .
-
He never became an AA defender .The deficiencies in his game with us are still his deficiencies at Collingwood ..
-
I hope this isnt fake news .comes into the too good to be true category .
-
Well actually he has been doing nothing in the past 2 years which is a significant form slump .No more c and d graders traded on to the list ,we have more than enough of these already .We are in the football business not the wishful thinking business and if a player can not be seen as in our best 22 there is no point in chasing him

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
kallangurdemon replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
no loss purely from a football point of view .Harleys body was never right for AFL footy and i am confident that we would never be able to get it right no matter what was attempted .Another of our feel good stories that came to a sad end. -
interesting how AVB is quicker than Jayden.I should have went to Specsavers .

the list isn't even close to what is required for a premiership and incremental improvement by a few players won't change that .The top half of the list is fine but we fall away too quickly .We have little in the way of draft picks so the only way to bridge the gap is via the trade period .A couple of trades to fix the pace issue will see us on the way .

hannan is another that we should move on if we are to be successful .
-
well done big Max .The posters expectations of you are ridiculously high. you deserved the 3 previous inclusions and you deserved this one as well .Nic Nat had a great year but you are still the best ruck in the competition
-
great to see such an avalanche of support For Jack .He was never a love him or hate him type of player or person as there was nothing about him to hate .Never heard anyone who had anything to do with Jack say a bad word against him personally ,Would love him to return home in some capacity as a priority.
-
yes that would have made it a perfect hand .

All in all I thought it was a dead old show .I dont know if this results from the players disappointment in not making the finals or from my disappointment in us not making the finals .I have been to more joyous funerals .It may be just a nervous twitch but Goody has to get rid of that seeming half smirk that appears at the most inappropriate times .Maybe everyone is just tired at the end of an incredibly trying year but the Count did not have an optimistic feel for next year about it.
-
not as bid a surprise as his 2018 Brownlow effort .

high end trades dont seem to be our strong suit and I unaware of any one of note who has shown the slightest interest in coming . On top of that we only have 2 realistic draft pick one in the mid twenties and one around mid forties .I have said previously that we can let 10 go without damaging our list structure .Where does this then leave us .? The Answer is ,i believe, that we spread the load and concentrate on b and c graders of the ilk of Polec and Hooker. They are not champions but are better than what we will let go. I do not see any possibility of Jesse returning but would be ecstatic if proved wrong on this .

yes but made certain that the car had plenty of petrol.
