It was generally a good session and well received by the impressive crowd .I thought the stand out was Joel Smith .He clunked everything and looked the fittest I have seen him .His kicking was ok as well

Shouldn't be in Freo colours .An ill conceived and particularly poorly executed trade .However he is opposition and can no longer be a favourite .

A pretty good year at Aspley . Very popular at the club,3rd in the best and fairest and an interchange selection in NEAFL team of the year .However hasnt improved since leaving us and it would be a big leap of faith to put him on The Suns list .

the interesting and probably disappointing comment from josh was that Jesse was happy to stay if we couldn't broker a satisfactory trade .Doesn't seem that we were forced to take 6 and 23 because Jesse was insisting on a trade ,more just a statement of preference.A tragedy if this becomes the difference in winning or not winning this years flag .

All a bit late .No point asking these questions unless you need to somehow internally justify an unjustifiable trade .Perhaps there was some to date unreported attempts at lateral negotiations involving Brayshaw and others but as best as I can see we just took what Freo offered which was not nearly enough.

with respect that is not an answer to the question who won the trade We got Salem and Tyson, GWS got Kelly and clearly won the trade .I agree that if we had not made that trade and then drafted Billings over Kelly that would have been an even worse outcome .

In answer to the specific question of whether we won the Kelly trade, the answer is clearly no .Salem has been generally ok and a reasonable get at 9 .All in all Dom gave pretty good service especially earlier in his time with us . .But Kelly is an out and out champion ,So no win on that part of the draft .

He is an absolute cracker who has had an indescribably unlucky run.He will be be AA in 2019 but sadly not with us.

When he is worth a game he should get a game .At the moment he is a long way short of this .On a brighter note he is the only one of yesterdays 22 who clearly is not of AFL standard.

Yes the AFL are running the MFC in a way similar to the method that the Soviet Union ran Hungary except that they haven't sent in the tanks .They will decide the ceo the coach ,the president ,the board and probably the colour of the clubrooms .And we accept this ? the biggest single reason that we are in the present financial abyss is because we spent all preseason and $1m fighting a tanking claim which could never be sustained (there was no rule governing it) and in the end had to incur a liability of $1/2m and probably payout Chris Connolly .We were singled out for this indescribably unjust treatment when there was more objective evidence of tanking by Richmond and Carlton .What a disaster !.The AFL is the problem not the solution .It is being run for the big four and the satellite clubs .And yet we meekly run to it cap in hand asking if they if they will forgive us our sins and share their wisdom .I am about over it .

I don't know if Don told the AFL that he was resigning or the AFL told Don he was resigning .We never had a realistic chance to go forward this year because our preseason was dominated by the indescribably unjust single club tanking enquiry .We were seen as a soft target for the AFL to mollify the press .Don certainly did a lot less to hurt this club than Brock Mclean . I know Don gave his all and I thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best

tom mac is a young player getting a game purely because he is a young player .He cant mark ,cannot spoil effectively ,his recovery is poor and he is a deplorable kick .Would not even be considered at any other club .His drafting at 53 flatters him .I don't even think he was much last year .Probably good enough for the seniors at Edenhope but that's about it .How could we let the Lions isolate him against Leuenberg? Talk about a disaster waiting to happen ..Words fail me .

Yes they know now what tanking looks like but they still don't know what it means .
