I dont why anyone is the least surprised .It was always only going to be a show trial and as I said previously the chance of the charge being sustained were between nil and Zero the moment Christian said he wasnt prepared to charge Maynard .Told that to anyone who to spoke to.The remainder of the charade became window dressing for the AFL .The next statement will be Maynard saying the only thing that matters to him is Angus health .So cynical and predictable .

i believe the chances of Maynard being suspended are somewhere between nil and zero.The AFL is not even proceeding in good faith .They have made the referral a joint referral rather than a review officer referral which is unprecedented and then leaked to the media that Christian did not want to proceed with any charge .It is tantamount to a prosecutor telling a jury that "we dont think the accused is guilty but you can convict him in any case" .This is just a show trial and nothing more. Afterwards The AFL will then say "concussion is a big issue and we are there to protect the player so we are disappointed by the result.."A complete load of [censored] .

MJ was never expected to push for selection this season and it was always going to be a year of physical development . He has been very much a boy playing in a mans comp.He has wonderful hands and positions himself well so there is plenty to work with .Having said that yesterdays effort was lamentable both in effort and output. It was Schachesque. Hopefully that game was just the outlier and Matt will continue to develop and gain selection in the second half of next year .

We have probably improved the list slightly .However our issue last year was the forward line especially the 2 key forward positions and that remains unsolved .The only clear change is Schace for Weideman which is underwhelming .A lot of pressure is now unfairly on JVR but if he doesnt come on it is difficult to see a premiership in 2023.

well at least it was a better deal than the Hogan deal.We now have draft capital to continue to deal for the next 2 days .Hopefully we have a target in mind .

But that is really the issue .There wasn't a ruckman on the list available from Casey .Gawn Jackson Daw and even Turner wern't available so it fell on Weed.Next pick for the centre square would have had to be one of the Browns and that would have been a challenge .At first blush Weed appeared to have done badly .He lost the hit outs 48/11 and dropped more marks than the 2 he took .However he contested to the extent that the Crows talls never controlled the game .Their hitouts were share between both midfields so no huge advantage was gained by them.I dont believe there was another player available who would have performed as well and it was fortunate Weed was on the list.

i agree with the general sentiment of the post save for the reference to McStay .Dogga is light years ahead of him .Bring back Jesse .

We probably don't need a new game plan because our current one is almost fireproof .What we need do is re-start playing to this game plan and rid ourselves of the stop/start footy which has slowly but perceptibly crept in as the season has progressed.

Last year the team just ran ran and ran until they broke the opposition with run and carry .They tackled in twos and threes from the first bounce to the final siren .This year they seem to do thsi for maybe a quarter or half a quarter .Then the opposition seems to damage us with their run and carry .This has even been the case with lowly sides who we never really put away .Is this a fitness issue or something else entirely ?

The main problem is that simply he is not a good mark .He has not been a one grab mark ever since he came into the side and his marking is not improving with the gaining of experience,His signature grab is the two bite mark often following a one handed attempt .if you are not a clean mark you will not make it as a key forward .

A dual All Australian who inexplicably is playing poorly in a poor side at the moment .Can run all day and is an elite accumulator. Don't believe we have any prospect in getting him but would be a bonus replacement for Hibberd and Melksham .

if we are only on par with last years increases from here on in we break the 70000 mark

The Sharks are a particularly strong side from a particularly strong club .JacobTownsend,Jacob Dawson Aidan Fyfe ,Billy Gowers and Boyd Woodcock were all AFL players last season .The Sharks even recruited our Jay Lockhart and Zac Foot.They are cut above The likes of Coburg Preston Willy and will help list the standard of the VFL.A shame Aspley handed back its licence as they would have been good also.

It is still less than a year since Tommo did his A. Wasn't expected to be in the side in the early part of the year but Pettys injury forced the selectors hand .Tommo was underdone and in the circumstances did a wonderful job .Without him we had a huge problem especially with Lever out .He now has a chance to go back to Casey and get more match conditioning without the pressure .

that is an insightful and generally accurate analysis of Max's first two games plus the Carlton hit out .Max has been dropping his marks but even at his best he does not clunk them like,say Stephen May .Even THAT mark in rd 23 was a two biter .He has not been getting many of the 50/50 decisions at boundary throw ins and seems to be not unreasonably frustrated .He does however work tirelessly around the ground to create an extra man at contests in the midfield ,forward line and defence and this part of his game is immense.

A disappointing night ,Our good players will continue to be good but there is little to get excited about with those fringe players who got a chance tonight .hunt still has no idea how to do anything but run at one pace in a straight line ,Cant he learn to step or swerve or even vary his pace .?He get picked off so easily laterally when he runs with the ball .Baker is not good or hard enough ,Tomlinson is so slow as he has had only 10 months to get over his ACL and needs half a season at Casey.The ball continues to bounce off Weeds hands as it has done for the past 3 seasons.Spargo seems to be revisiting his 2019 form. Our best 22 will give the flag a shake but heaven help us if we get sa bad run of injuries.

Pleased to read the comment on Dunstan s disposal .That has been the serious the only serious knock on his game .If it is not an issue he will be in our best 22.
