I see our official membership figure was 65548 for 2024.This is about an 8% drop on last year and lower than 2022.We now rank 11th on the membership table .We are less mid table and more in line with lower end. Our membership projection for 2025 would be of serious concern after all the negative press heaped on us.

In fairness he got a solid knock early in the game and was taken down to the rooms for a concussion test .Not much good after that .

He cost us a first round and two second round picks .Such a poor return on such a huge investment.We dont draft for exuberance.

I thought it was great trading by us .Two first and a further 2nd round pick for a player whose reputation was largely forged on half a quarter of football .When he arrived he couldn't clunk a mark and five years on he still has bricks for hands.Not big enough to be a ruckman and not good enough to be a forward.

Look Im sure that Luker is a great kid and doing his very best .But that is not a basis for extending his contract .The club did not proceed with a view that he would be a slow burn otherwise they would have given him an 18 month contract rather than 6 month one .They preserved the option to offer an extension or delist Luker .Thats simply good football management .He ,contrary to what has been stated or at least implied here ,did not have big stats in WA and that trend sadly has continued at Casey.You cant expect a contract extension based on a hope for improvement that is unsupported by any evidence to date.If he is kept on the list that is one less spot available for someone else .

I'm unsure as to whether Lamb chooses these trade targets or just facilitates the mechanic of the trades bearing in mind existing list commitments.if it is the latter than it is difficult to be critical as as none of the trades cost us a great deal .

Im not at all optimistic about 2025 and believe we may finish bottom 4 .Max May and Viney have all been wonderful servants of the club but time is rapidly catching up with them .Salem Lever and Petty have been on a downhill trajectory and we may have seen the best of them .Langdon Kossie and Fritsch are good players but not A graders .We hope that Clarry and Trac can recover form their serious setbacks but that is far from being a given and they may understandably struggle .There is not a lot of exposed talent in the youth department and nothing at Casey .Bedford ,Harmes and Jordon would make no difference as they are now struggling at their new homes .I expect 2025 to be a long season for us.

What made the AFL NGA decision even more egregious was that we were the only club with a potential first rounder . No one else had one in sight .Saints was next best but a fair margin behind with Mitch Owens who went 33 in the draft.The decision of course was disgustingly retrospective as it restricted our access to a player who had already been in our NGA academy for 4years .I wondered at the time why we copped the change in these circumstances but the club probably couldn't do much.

I think it would be safe to declare Jed a complete miss if not for the fact that The Club has given him a 2 year extension .Obviously the experts see something in him that Ive missed .He looks the part but never delivers. Actually Smacker is highly talented and has the skill to be a game buster.But he is simply presently not fit enough for AFL .He is not even close to being fit enough .He had a major run in with Burgo at Adelaide over his work levels while in rehab . and seems to have had the same issue here with his calf and hammmy rehab .Needs a mini preseason and a block of games at Casey before being considered for the Ones.
