  1. if you look at the photo above it might give some clue .in 2018 he was lean and agile .Now he looks like he has a wet suit under his jumper and is about as agile as a giraffe on roller skates .I dont know whether or not this stems from his toe problems but I do know that unless he gets football fit he is no use to us or any other club .
  2. there is no suggestion that Harley didnt return to the hub out of any altruistic concern for his fellow citizens .He has simply gone AWOL.Im not sure that anyone still knows exactly where he is .At the end of the day we must own our decisions . if the club does not sack Harley it will be the laughing stock of the AFL.
  3. i think Langdon is the smokey .played every game and I can only recall one poor one .
  4. Get real .How would Harley pay a $50000 fine ?He hasnt got enough for a tank of petrol.
  5. He was terrible in the first game of the year but his last 2 games were ok .plays with enthusiasm and has a bit of zip .But if we are to become successful we need replace 30 yr old journeyman like Mitch with a bit of quality .We dont bat low enough at the moment so we should be concentrating on players who might not be A graders but are clearly of AFL standard and Mitch doesnt fit this profile ..
  6. tell the auto correct to go to hello.
  7. make it clear that you are referring to Carmichael and not Jayden
  8. We have had Kossie ,Stack ,isiah Taylor and now Harley .Perhaps the indigenous players cant cope with hub life and make bad decisions. Maybe the AFL should examine alternatives to existing arrangements rather than just fining clubs .
  9. If I returned here after being out of contact with the outside world for 6 months and was told that trac max may oliver are all in lt m x for AA selection that we picked up a cracker in Langdon and good young guns in rivers and jackson I might assume that we would be up to our necks in the finals series . But that sadly is not the case .the reason i believe is that the list falls away too quickly .WE need 6 to 8 b and c graders to replace the d graders on the list . .North made headlines by sacking 11 and I see no reason not to trade/delist a similar number.
  10. well done . Here is a few more nathan jones jackson browne running on empty omac mental as anything oh no not you again trac emf unbelievable max biil withers lean on me may mtc rock of ages harley kamahl sounds of goodbye .
  11. If the allegations are indeed correct then those posters who had consistently opined that Harley had a huge upside for very little cost were a long way short of the mark .His listing has been a disaster .I will make two points .Firstly Harley has never got over his injury and was never ready to play .He couldn't walk unaffected much less run .Secondly Freo and Ross Lyon tried all in their power to mitigate his off field behaviour but in the end just threw in the towel as it was all too hard .MFC was arrogant and/or naive enough to believe it could turn this all around in a preseason .Did the club question why no one else was interested .? Harley took a spot on the list was given a lifeline which he has now thrown in our face . Despite its spectacular lack of success MFC has always been a good football citizen and i am hugely disappointed by these turn of events .
  12. The club has been patient with Weeds development but he has now plateaued. Wasn't good enough to get beyond the scratch matches for the first half of the season ,Brings the ball to ground because he drops marks .Doesnt seem to play with any zip as compared to someone as ordinary as Brown. .I would keep him because every now and then he does something that only a good player can do .But ever since Jesse departed the whole forward line dynamic has changed and I agree a key forward is our number 1 need .
  13. the 2nd quarter was just about a good a quarter as we have played all year and Oliver was the key factor .He is aa much a match winner as Petracca and when he began to fade we dropped off as a team .the TV coverage does not give recognition of both the enormous work rate and smart positioning of Langdon .much of his good work goes unseen on TV.
  14. oliver langdon lever petracca gawn hunt
  15. if lockhart is !82 cm i will give the game away as my eyes are deceiving me.he would at the most 2 inches taller than Spargo which put him in the 176 to 177 range and although he gives it his best shot he simply lacks Spargos natural ability
  16. Spargos lack of size has been consistently exaggerated on this site .He is short but noticeably bigger than Daniel who he is continually compared to .He would be bigger than both Chandler and Pickett and there wouldnt be much difference with Lockhart .He is not overly quick but is a lot quicker than Nev .This week is not the week to test the experiment but there is some merit in giving it a look next season .
  17. hes not a patch on Neita .not even sure where he plays- obviously somewhere between the centre and deep forward .
  18. Thats a low blow .
  19. im flabbergasted by what this thread claims is the Match Review response to the Oliver incident .Mumford all but removed Clarrys head from his shoulders with a swinging arm when Clarry was as open as a gate .He was in trainers arms until the quarter ended and started the next quarter on the bench in an apparent attempt to recover .I was acutely concerned that he would take no further part in the game .I assumed (foolishly it seems ) that there was no penalty by Match Review as the case went straight to the tribunal .Am to understand that there was no penalty at all for this case of wanton thuggery ?Surely this cant be the case .
  20. Sadly you have hit the nail squarely on the head .Friendly fire or not it was still a shocking incident and has never been beyond serviceable since .Doubt he has the lung capacity for the wing .Is quicker than Langdon but doesnt have the same cruising speed or endurance .Will be surprised if he is on the list next year .
  21. The last line tall has been a problem all year and I thought Smith did ok in the last 2 weeks ,He doesn't get the cheap possessions from the 20 metre kick to the boundary so his numbers are low.But he is genuinely strong in the contest and doesnt give up the easy possession or have multiple kicked on him like his predecessors so i see no reason to drop him .
  22. i believe there is plenty of scope for change .This is a team where so much is left to so few .With the exception of May Langdon Oliver Petracca Gawn and Viney you could drop just about anyone without making any real difference ,.I drove home last night wondering how we won and in the end put it down to the 2 gift goals from Mumford which showed that there is still some things right in the universe .harmes jackson hibberd tmac hannan and sparrow should all come under consideration .
  23. Possibly the most important player in the side .We would have lost both last nights game and the Saints game without him.Controlled the zone with complete assurance against quality opponents. Our only defender where you don't have your heart in your mouth when he charges towards a contest .An AA certainty .
  24. its a credit to management to lock the deal inso early rather than have to go through the angst again of having the jumper and no major sponsor on it two weeks before season start .
  25. not sure if we should focus on a player who hasnt had a game all year at a bottom 4 club.Big in physique but not a big mark .I also see him in the Paul Johnson mould .Better to do what we did with Langdon and get a player who will immediately add something to the team .
