The small fwd position is one of the hardest in the game. Jeff plays well when our bigs stay closer to home or he is running on to a loose ball.

Motherhood garbage. There are so many holes in that statement its not funny. Capitalism isn't perfect. But its a far better system of organisation than any other I can think of that has been tried before. All that is happening at the moment is that the education system isn't teaching the young about the good achievements of western civilisation or the reality of socialism and communism and people like bernie Sanders, jeremy Corbyn, Richard di natale come along offering them 'free stuff'. It sounds appealing to the naive and then you end up with China, Cuba, or Venezuela. Beofre you know it 100m people have been slaughtered as happened last century.

Kent has never looked 'solid'. He has some traits that could make him a good footballer. He is a long way off reproducing those consistently. I looked up some stats a while back and when we were losing Kent was virtually in the bottom 3 underperformers in the majority of games. That says a huge amount to me. Add to that he can't kick straight. He is another Bugg when it comes to kicking. Very overated around here.

Which is it?

Sorry but I can't let this slide. This kind of BS gets trotted out out all the time. What does it mean exactly? Did you know that in 2000 the UN set a goal to eradicate global poverty by 2030. And the amount of poverty in the world has reduced by 50% since 2000? By any measure this is an unbelievable achievement in history. But no, the doomsayers claim that inequality is rising and the gap between wealthy and poor is rising....I dispute that but even if it was the case, poverty is being eradicated which is actually a better outcome. And I'll give you a tip for free, this has been done through capitalism. Celebrate some good in the world.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS

They loved Warnie forever and he was done twice was he not? Blows your argument out of the water. -
That's exactly how how game in Rd 9 last year panned out. Yes the umps were shiite and we didn't have Gawn or Hogan but make no mistake their plan has always been to pressure our ball carriers because we overuse it and cough it up. We are also terrible in the air. They have also jumped us in the first qtr a lot (even ignoring the game in the wind at Tassie) I am looking at this game as huge test for Goodwin. He we come out in the first qtr (so far this year we have been good), how we move the ball fwd and run back when they have it. And if they get a run on what our plan to stifle them is... He has lost twice to these muppets. If we lose again I'll lose my rag.

You just did it. Do you feel better telling the world what a virtuous person you are? And not only back-handing everyone that has a different opinion to you? Are you seeking pats on the back from this community? Why don't you just do it rather than telling the world (or in this case Demonland) what a wonderful person you are....

So if this is right, we free up some capital for a new home (long overdue) and we get a reputational boost along the way by being good corporate citizens....

My point is its easy to say 'let's not take pokie revenue' but its much harder to find something to replace it that doesn't take a huge amount of funding, management time or acts as a distraction. Richmond seem to have found one idea above but its pretty small beer.....

https://alignedleisure.com.au/ This is a Richmond non-gaming initiative that delivered $$ for them..... Richmond have struck a lucrative deal to manage a string of leisure centres on Melbourne's south-east fringe, transforming the club's business plan and making it one of the most diversified in the AFL. The deal, which will see the Tigers take the management rights of eight leisure centres in the Cardinia Shire for up to nine years, will add about 15 per cent revenue to Richmond's finances or about $5 million annually via a wholly owned subsidiary, Aligned Leisure.

Look fwd to your realistic list of businesses for the club to be involved in, It's not that easy you know....

PLs fwd your ideas to Peter Jackson.....

It's all very well to say that but they beat us twice last year. The Tassy game was a lottery with the wind but the MCG game they came to pressure us and it works against us. We handball the ball too much and with pressure it comes unstuck. We also aren't very good at running two ways - or at least we are sporadic in our efforts - and Norf know that. While they don't have Dnagerwood and Ablett they have a bunch of handy muppets who beat us regularly. Higgins plays well against us as does Zeibell and Cunnington. We should beat them but I said that last year as well.

can't be too private if it was on Ch 7 news......

Goodwin has been beaten twice by this rabble. Will be interesting to see whether he changes anything or goes with his solitary game plan.... Last time: Free kick count 21 Norf, 10 to us. Umps were putrid. We had 195 HBs to 178 kicks They out-tackled us 94 to 78 We let them score 6g 7b in the opening qtr. They also had 85 marks to our 69. They chip the ball around and pressure us when we have it knowing that we will turn it over. We simply must stop handballing ourselves into trouble, run our bums off and keep the ball off them. We will then have a chance

The ratings...

What does this even mean? Stef Martin had a pretty good game and yet he was ranked virtually the same as Bugg....
-
Not at the G it doesn't...............
-
Swans won after losing the first 6. The real issue with the Dogs is their percentage of 47. They would neeed to win and win big which doesn't look possible.
-
$cully was an ordinary pick. He is small and chip kicks everywhere. He has great endurance which has come back into favour given the restrictions on interchange but oterwise he was an ordinary number 1 pick. If we were picking today with our current recruiting team between Oliver, Wines and $cully, $cully would be a distant third

That seems like a single plan that hasn't worked on the two previous occasions. North always seem to be a good contested marking side against us (which side doesn't). I think we need flexibility in defence and the air to get the ball to our runners. Last year's game at the G was a bitter hard-fought contest and there was no love lost. We lost the free kick count 21 to 10 because the umps were a disgrace. We handballed ourselves out of it: 195 HBs to 178 kicks; they out-tackled us 94 to 78; and, we let them score 6g 7b in the opening qtr. They also had 85 marks to our 69 and like Geelong last week they controlled the ball for long periods. Goodwin often says he doesn't look at history but us supporters know it too well and are far king sick of this mob beating us - AND us trying to play the same way to beat them. And another thing, you can guarantee that Chris Scott will be speaking to Brad Scott about how to beat Melbourne. The Geelong game is the blueprint and that is how North plays us. Knowing that you would think Goodwin will set up different game plans to tackle it. How we go will be a real eye opener as to whether Goodwin can really coach. There are really no excuses.

Agree. So if we lose the midfield battle again what flexibility do we have to cover someone like Brown?
