  1. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-02-04/dees-aim-for-finals-in-16 Its not that hard....
  2. Yep they had a shocker no doubt.
  3. What? At the MCG? No thanks..
  4. Against the weaker sides we get a lot of goals from inside 15m. We are number 1 for that stat. Against the strong sides I suspect our shots at goal are from much further out because they don't let us get out the back.... I don't have the evidence to back that up but I think it probably holds true...
  5. He has had some good games this year but against Sydney he and Garlett were our two worst by some margin
  6. The game plan isn't working against the good teams. It's irrefutable. There are also something like 18 times this year when a team has won the i50 count by more than 10 and lost. Melbourne are I think 5 or 6 of those. Our game plan sucks and falls apart under pressure. There is a reason why the best defending teams win flags. Until we can defend properly we are nowhere. This week will be good. The no 1 team for efficiency inside 50s vs the 4th worse team for defending i50s. If you think the false dawn of winning 6 in a row against poor opposition is something to crow about you are sadly mistaken. Bombing the ball ito an outnumbered fwd line is just insanity yet we start every centre bounce with an outnumbered fwd line. But hey we have the no 1 clearance side in the comp. So we win clearances and turn it over in our fwd 50. Great game plan.
  7. So lets see..... The number 1 side for efficiency inside 50 vs the 4th worst team at defending inside 50s...And on their home deck. It would be so Melbourne to chuck it in by 50pts.
  8. You forgot the 3 times he was outmarked by Heeney...
  9. Hannaberry's body is cooked. He's not what we need.
  10. Just watched the replay and our three worst players were ANB, Garlett and Jones.
  11. They were 2 men down and we let them control the footy and chip it around. Our brainless leaders kept bombing it to Aliir and Heeney. We should have been controlling the footy and making them run at us - tiring them out. We also kept turning over the footy like under 12s. When they got a run on we had no idea what to do. Its happened 6 times this year and our coaching panel are clueless on how to deal with it. Forget the kicking, the above is the reason we will go nowhere even if we do make it. No footy IQ amongst anyone playing.
  12. 2 of Sydney's goals in the second qtr were from marks that travelled 7-8 metres. One of them was in a play where fu**face Nicholls gave free because of our runner.
  13. Should have been handled in house. The fact it wasn't is an indictment on Goodwin the management consultant and the leaders. He is not a leader of men.
  14. Yes he is struggling. We bomb the ball into the fwd line. We don't look for anyone. And they certainly won't kick it to Garlett when he is 1 against 3 When we do try to spot up a leading fwd like Hogan in the last we sit it 4m over their head so that Heeney or Aliir can take the mark of the year.
  15. Wow 5 Against the bottom 5 sides. Keep hanging your hat on that one. It's really done us well against the good sides hasn't it..
  16. Garlett didn't get a kick until half way through the last qtr. He isn't helped by our woeful delivery and outnumbering but it didn't look to me like he provided any pressure on the Swans defence at all.
  17. It's not the camp that was the issue. It was the fact that players went to the players association. We have no leadership and the players cound't speak with the so called leaders or the coaching staff. What does that say? It says commuications with Goodwin co and terrible. Imagine Brisbane under J Brown if the players went outside the club for something like that? It is unthinkable. Goodwin may be a measured coach but he seems to me from the outside to be clueless at managing people. Exhibit A the rd 23 last year. Exhibit B the camp. He is like your classic management consultant.
  18. Another disgraceful loss where we should have smashed the opposition. Clearly scoring shots are one major issue but the dumb football we continue to play under pressure is why we can't beat good strong sides. The Swans are a very well drilled side but they were two rotations down and we let them control the uncontested possession count unbelievably. What TF were our coaching staff doing? Unfarking forgivable. We let them control the tempo of the game and they were very composed with the ball in hand. We were the opposite. Memo to Goodwin: starting a loose player in the backline when we are the number 1 clearance side is dumb, dumb, dumb. How many times did we win a clearance and bomb it to Aliir? We continually bombed the ball into our outnumbered forward line and let Aliir Aliir contest the high ball and the Swans runners sweep the ball away. Our forward pressure was non-existent as was the pressure that our mids applied to theirs once they got the ball. In the last quarter when the game was on the line Heeney was largely unmanned and ran riot. Our game plan all year has been simple. Get it quickly into the forward line and try to hold it in there. Well the Swans have a good defence and toyed with us. And when they swept the ball around the flanks where were our small forwards and mids? Nowhere. I am done with Garlett. Give me Bugg any day over him. At least he will run all day and put physical pressure on. His kicking for goal is virtually no different so why not? ANB had a shocker as did Hunt. Hogan played one of his worst games. I am very critical of our defence but our talls actually worked reasonably well. OMac did some good things, Frosty did pretty well and Jetta was OK. The apologists will say 'oh, but if we had have kicked straight we would have won.' Seriously. It's pathetic. Its not like were don't know how the Swans play. Previous four games against them they have scored 86, 85, 80 and 69. Our top score was 50pts. 50 points! Make no mistake this was a massive coaching failure. We needed to control the ball and make the Swans chase. We couldn't do it. They didn't even try to do it. Our leaders were hopeless. 7 goals in a row!! 6 each in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Shiite football. I am a Jones fan but he played one of his worst possible games for the club. Lewis missed at least 4 balls coming in that he either misjudged or didn't want to contest. Finally the umpiring was infuriating. You name it ,they stuffed up nearly every category. They didn't make Swans players move back off the mark, the Swans were allowed to dive in our backs, chopping the arms, holding the ball. And apparently they are allowed to kick the ball 8 metres and its a mark. They [censored] up most of them. Wow. I am happy to contribute to a fund where Nicholls taken to court for cheating. Make your September plans because we are going nowhere.
  19. Nathan Burke? The loser St Kilda guy that once helped us find a new coach by being on our interview panel....M Neeld. GAGF.
  20. The Franklin paranoia is overblown I suspect. The Swans scores in our last four meetings are 86, 85 80 and 60pts Having said that our top score has only been 50pts....I hope we are past those kind of scores against the Swans. I predict the Dees by 34pts....
  21. This is my issue... Christian when explaining the May bump on Curnow said that he went past the ball but because the ball was within 5m he was allowed to bump (so long as it wasn't high) - that has never been the interpretation. Once the player has disposed of the ball anything late is illegal. Christian changed the rule interpretation and I said it would come back to bite him. 3 weeks later it has. Brown should argue that that the ball was within 5m (it looked that way on TV) and the bump wasn't high therefore no case to answer. But i don't think any of us think this is the right interpretation. Yet again the MRP stuffs up what should be a simple determination. I watch with interest.
  22. Suggest you go and look at the bizarre reasoning from Michael Christian on the May incident. IF the Saad hit was within 5m - and I haven't seen all the angles - it is perfectly legal. And if outside 5m it's only a free downfield.
  23. Saad bump.... The ball was arguably within 5m. Didn't hit the head...should get off. Recall Steven may's bump a few weeks back on Curnow AFTER Curnow had disposed of the ball...as I said at the time..."What really is bizarre is that Michael Christian when giving his reason said May was allowed to bump because the ball was within 5 meters. Curnow had disposed of the ball and the hit was absolutely late yet according to Christian if the bump had been lower he was well within his rights and would not have been sanctioned." Didn't agree with that then and now they couldn't possibly sanction Brown's bump on Saad unless they are being totally contradictory (which wont surprise anyone...) The AFL have another stupid decision hanging over them because they don't use common sense....
  24. And he has been holding down a key back role at Casey...
