I posted a while back that our 3rd qtr stats are outstanding. The number 1 team for the year. That says to me the coaching staff are able to make the necessary changes, reinforce the messages, get the team back on track if needed or counteract the opposition moves. That is a very good sign that the coaches can identify what needs to be done and impart the right messages and moves. It also seems that we have tightened up measurably since the Sydney game to mostly one on one footy - none of the no wings, or 2 behind the square for the bounce etc.

Ablett is now soft as butter. No CPs in the first half. Avoided all contact and sat out the back getting cheap handballs or ran fwd of the ball looking for a chip kick. The Holy Trinity BS has failed.

He was on the bench for around 16mins at the start of the 3rd qtr from memory. They were saying on MMM that he was itching to get back on but because of the lack of goals and where the ball was being played they couldn't get a rotation ....Seems to have worked out OK....

This is a disgrace and he needs to be rubbed out. It's simply dangerous. Not only that but a player is protected from front on contact via a free kick. If you want to remove that protection then fine make it a free-for-all but its there to stop a player from being poleaxed front on. A knee is totally acceptable and is a very natural action to protect ones genitalia. An outstrecthed foot with studs has the potential to do serious damage. Luke Dalhaus last year was very lucky he wasn"t injured more. Greene gets fined last year and it will be interesting to see what the new MRP does with the golden child club.

What about Dangerfields backward elbow to Jetta's face?? Jetta is like a punching bag. Gets no support from the MRP........

It's not as bad as you make it out to be. He was recounting how in his first final last year he was "packing his dacks". He said that Melbourne players would be feeling nervous and he is right. But I think that will go away quite quickly.

interestingly the message seems to have evolved over the season. From not worrying about what has gone on before it, we cant change the past, to writing our own narrative to embracing our successful past. I guess as the team knocks over various hoodoos and unwanted records it is finally safe to embrace the successful past. He certainly comes across as measured (which frustrated me earlier in the season) and I get the feeling the players won't be overawed by their first final. The process, each contest and supporting/trusting your team mates mantra has been well drilled into them. I'm excited for Friday.
