  1. They gave thousands of injections and received rebates from Medicare. I am pretty sure this was canvassed during the hearings and it was a clear scam. Dr Reid raised the issue of Medicare claims. The players testified that this was the case and here, Elliott and Wallis allege it again. So it may be heresay but given the tardiness of worksafe - that didn't even start investigating the matter until 17months AFTER the scandal became public - I am sceptical about government agencies doing their jobs properly when the scandal is a political football
  2. So the latest "bombshell" from Slobbo is that Wallis and Elliott are suing the club. Their evidence includes how the club ripped off the medicare system. It's amazing how in some cases how clear transgressions like the allged abusing of the Medicare rebate for the thousands of injections just simply get ignored. If Worksafe came to my workplace I would be heading to the slammer had I done the same thing as the EFC. Why do authorities look away?
  3. A gift to their long suffering supporters for sticking with them through thin.....
  4. Kimberley Kitching is a die hard bomber I believe. And don't forget Lindsay Tanner, current president and ex-ALP polly
  5. They were fined for cheating the salary cap in 1993 as well. Cheating bastaards
  6. A team event? And the whole team was punished? The AFL should hang their heads in shame. And by the way #giveitbackjobe
  7. Just as well otherwise they might end up sounding like dermie. I I IIII I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I .........counted 43 in one article.
  8. Yes my bad. It was for Nurofen. Was prescribed by the team doctor I recall. Very tough outcome. The EFC are very lucky.
  9. It is certainly debatable what is appropriate. Did the 16yo gymnast that lost a gold medal for taking a panadol at the Sydney Olympics get treated appropriately? I would argue that footballers have been treated very lightly by comparison as an example. That players are not lacking culpability. The proponents of the scheme should never be allowed near a sporting club again IMO. And that includes the Doctor.
  10. It can be dangerous. But in this case it is damning that all 34 players lied on their ASADA forms re injections. That is collusion or stupidity. You stated the following: Precisely, and other than conjecture, no-one in the public domain ever will. So regardless of their guilt, naivety or otherwise, there is an ample school of thought on here that these young men should be totally deprived of their careers, despite the obvious culpability of their 'employer'? I just hope I will never have to appear before the 'Star Chamber' that is Demonland. Your statement is clearly implying that you think the players have been dealt harshly and that the club is culpable. Yet is it has been proven that the players lied. They were hoist on their own petard. Don't know why you would overlook this or forgive them for it.
  11. In fact the AFL said exactly that when refusing to give Melbourne a PP. They said the Melbourne list was in good shape and their ladder position didn't reflect their list.
  12. It's pretty obvious that they were colluding or were coached into the responses they would give. I know that from speaking to one of the lawyers on the case. Everything they did was in lock-step except for a few like Hal Hunter that had been discarded by the club. Hard to see how you could defend (by implication) the players actions in not telling the truth to ASADA on the injections.
  13. So the Bombers appear to have settled all their legal claims with their players in relation to the doping programme with cash payments. I assume this will them be included in the salary cap. Because if it isn't included it will open up a Pandora's Box. Players will sue clubs left, right and centre and then 'settle' the claim with an out of court payment in order to subvert the salary cap. Much like a certain prime minister that repeatedly sued Murdoch and Packer and settled the claims. The Murdoch tennis court and the Packer swimming pool were paid for by settled defamation claims against newspapers. Just like Joh Bjelke settling his claim against Alan Bond for $800k.......
  14. Another baffling outcome: How could any of the EFC 34 look at Dank and seriously think this guy was an expert in cutting edge pharmaceuticals? Or anything for that matter. If he came near me with a BS explanation about calves blood and high performance and a needle I would run a mile. They deserve everything they have received in penalties on that alone.
  15. Your first sentence doesn't make sense and unfairly tarninshes Watson. He was asked whether he had an opinion about whether the runners up should get the medal and he said "no I don't". Nothing untoward at all in that. He clearly doesn't want to enter the argument. And fair enough.
  16. "Jobe Watson has decided to hand back hs brownlow medal". Like he is some kind of hero. Yet again the spineless administrators of our great game squib on a decision. Its not Jobes to give back and it has gone on way too long. Not too often I feel sorry for Mitchell and Cotchin but they rightfully deserve their moment in the sun for winning the medal. As well as the financial rewards that go with it. Would like to see them sue for lost earnings over the period.
  17. Part of the reason was to stop a flood of players leaving.
  18. Jobe has already held it illegally for 4 years. The rightful winners, Cotchin and Mitchell have been deprived of their glory and potential earnings. I hope they sue the pants off the AFL
  19. 2 1/2 weeks of dozens of injections of illegal substances and a high intensity workout programme (because of increased recovery capacity) would beg to differ. Proof. Pudding.
  20. agreed. Geelong was doing it it must be OK....
  21. puffery? I treat it as straight from the horse's mouth
  22. Still not convinced. Then read this article with the benefit of hindsight. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/bigger-bombers-for-bruising-battles-20111108-1n5it.html Changed body shape in 2 1/2 weeks? Really? Nothing wrong here....
