There aren't any other players I know who could do that with their left had only while fending off a tackle from a premiership player and surrounded by 4 players.
-
Last time we played the Hawks we had no Gawn. We also handballed 237 times to 193 kicks (Dorks had 138HBs to 218 kicks). They outmarked us 106 to 75. We were 1 point down at 3/4 time and lost by 3pts. Don't let them control the footy and we should win.
-
I think we are winning a lot more clearances and with our set up that means we are often outnumbered in the fwd line. We are also still fine tuning how to have our mids pressure their defenders and hold the ball in. Its a work in progress but the signs are good.
-
It was a definite tactic of theirs to throw us to the ground and impose themselves physically wherever possible. This time we answered pretty well I thought.
-
Its not him who we need to worry about. Its the ANBs, Buggs, Kents, Garletts, Fritsch, Melkshams and Hannans of our team. We need Jeffy to kick his bag of 40 and the rest 15 to 25 each. Add our mids kicking 8 to 10 each and we have a potent team.
-
Good. Hopefully some specific tactics for the Dorks game.
-
Isaac Smith? Pffttt...... Clarry had him covered after only playing 10 games....

The Toiges for some reason have a pretty good record against the Dorks. Even when they were shiite

I don't believe he has been hard tagged. Last year he was getting 3 or 4 possies in a small possession chain and not hurting teams. This yr he appears to be more effective in gaining metres. MItchell isn't fast so IMO if Dangerfield can be hard tagged by Bernie then Mitchell can be easily. But my point remains, at what cost? If it means OMeara getting 30 possessions then you wouldn't do it because I believe JOM would hurt you more with those 30.
-
MItchell can be shut down but at what cost. O'Meara off the leash? They may decide that JOM hurts you more than Mitchell. But Bernie could keep Mitchell to under 15 I would think...

Melksham did make a bad blue when he had a shot on goal rather than centre the ball to Kent I think it was. Hasn't been the goal scorer that he was last year but he does have good endurance and can win one on ones. I think he would only be in the gun if Goody wanted to bring in a tall but I would probably drop ANB first. His missed marks were crucial forays forward that he fluffed. I read elsewhere that he heard footsteps and if these are the incidents they are referring to I don't buy it. He just had a bad day.
-
Bugg won't get dropped. Did ervything he was supposed to except kick that goal on half time. IMO ANB or Melksham are the two that are vulnerable on form.

Pedo to come in. PLayed a good game and we would be cactus if Max went down. Clarkson would know how to exploit the one ruck situation very well.
-
At the breaks the assistants hold up boards with the stats on them..
-
Using physical contact to prevent an opponent in possession of the ball from getting an effective disposal. ie a stoppage or the ball spilling free. Every stat definition here. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-12-28/stats-glossary-every-stat-explained

Scott would have given Petracca 3 or 4 I reckon. Oppo coaches rate get blown away by Petracca. Not sure who would have given 2 NM players votes....Scott again...
-
When did this happen? Not doubting you per se but I didn't see it and was at the game and have watched the replay twice.
-
I suspect in the past we held on to the ball for too long or did a stupid number of hot potato handballs and allowed other teams to pressure us with tackles. Hence we now move the ball on pretty quickly.

I like Frost. He has some good weapons. He does have some flaws though so its a matter of weighing up whether these are killers. Made a couple of very ordinary blues in the first - particularly leaving Waite and then deciding not to go to the contest - but thought he got a lot better. Given it was his first game I am prepared to cut him some slack but I suspect with him you will always have basis for complaints. I too hold out hopes for Petty as the mail is very good on him....

The AFL has been very accommodative because ANZAC Day falls on a Wednesday We play Tuesday night and then on the following Sunday. Coll and Ess play on the Wed and then the four teams involved in ANZAC day/Eve games switch over and play each other on the Sunday. Pretty fair solution and one that allows us to cement the ANZAC eve game into our fixture.

I did. didn't see it. I saw him drop 4 or 5 marks but he may have had the sun in his eyes as they were all up the Punt Rd end.. Didn't see him squib anything per se..
