  1. I am really lost with the garbage about not being able to talk to people until after the season. It really is crap - we appointed Neeld while Collingwood were still playing finals. If Williams or Eade want the job, they will talk to PJ and however is left of our board as soon as possible. Then they would be actively starting to plan for their tenure. They all have openings in their contracts regarding senior positions. Seriously the person who takes the role should be going hell for leather to get a senior role not waiting to be contacted on the off chance.
  2. Yes yes we did OD. No need to drag the list of possibles that we could have drafted instead of those that we did. We all know that we have made some seriously bad calls in the drafting department. But hopefully there is a rainbow at the end of the storm and Todd Viney, Jaon Taylor with input from Neil Craig can sort out our drafting. Neeld had already addressed some of things in last years draft, but missed Ollie (not too concerned about that as I think we have a player in Toumpas) another year of good drafting and the tide will turn
  3. Longsleeves. Should be more of it. Schwartz, Yze now Dawes. I like it
  4. Must say Dawesy looks good in long sleeves. Don't mind a big key forward with long sleeves reminiscent of Schwarta he didn't mind long sleeves either. Maybe that's where we've been going wrong - after Yze can't remember the last set of long sleeves
  5. 2 things - all those who bagged Jimmy Toumpas hang your heads in shame. Neil Craig can coach, unfortunately Mark Neeld could not (thought he might have been able to, but tonight proves that he lost the playing group). Oh and thirdly Jack Watts can play too!
  6. The white clash jumper makes the clash with St Kilda's normal jumper worse. Really would like a second away/clash jumper. Keep the white one I don't mind it, good for kids to get autographs as well. but add an all red one or the 80's Royal blue for when the white one won't work. Much like the EPL home away and clash kits.
  7. Home today with my little 4 month old Jako Jnr, as Mrs Jako is in bed as sick as a dog. Gee it'd be good to sit back and rewatch a few of our splendid wins this year.... Hmmmm crap! scratch that, need a new plan Looks like I've got 2 good looking banana's in the fruit bowl - I reckon one to eat and the other not sure - could turn it into a smoothie, it's not at over ripe make banana bread stage. Maybe pancakes with banana and cream for lunch? Need some help here banana smoothie or pancakes with banana topping?
  8. Absolutely amazed at the lack of love for Peter Daicos here. Him and Robbie flower were just incredible to watch. Time stood still when those 2 had the ball. Daicos was mesmerising at his best, went to a few filth games just because he would be on show ( especially the Carlton Pies games in the old Princes park and Vic Park Days). Robbie was similar but not quite the same freakish ability. After Daics, Wayne Carey was the only other bloke I went to opposition games for. No explanation needed. Disco Roach was another old favourite For the Dee's Jakovich, pre knee Schwarta, Stinga, Viney, B Lovett... Shaun Smith could take a grab too
  9. Looks like I'm going to get pantsed this week HT, will be going in with half a side at best against Scarlett, this bye week is going to hurt me big time, will cop it on the chin and hopefully bounce back strongly when I can get Rioli, Sylvia, Rockliff and Cooney back on the park after injury/suspension as well as reasonably filed side
  10. More "journo's" (if that's what they can be called) cover AFL than federal politics. Unbelievable, seriously how our country is run and what becomes of it is less important to the media than covering the footy. Seriously WTF!! there are only so many things that can occur at footy clubs and at head office, yet there are many pages of shite that must be written and time that needs covering between ad breaks. So if there ain't a head line and a grab for each of the footy journo's they have no choice but to make stuff up, go completely over the top and hype things out of all proportion - otherwise they wouldn't have a job to do.... How oh how would they then pay for their inner city apartment, mercedes coupe, beachside retreat and yearly 3 month overseas holiday?? Sick to [censored] death of "football media coverage". Just cover the footy and let us when something happens not your sources have led us to believe that this is going to happen tomorrow FMD. Sick of it Sorry end rant
  11. What gets up my goat is that Waite gets a week for a head but that was 1 metre directly in front of an umpire and no action taken yet a completely legal bump is penalised by a game day report which also then gives a free kick and a launch towards goal. Where oh where is the damn consistency by those pr1cks caled umpires. Btw I don't think there was overly much in the head but either but hey it's a principle thing. The dee's are consistently on the wrong end of the 50/50 frees - especially those in font of goals at either end
  12. Cheers OMR. Seems most games are damn close this year, takes just one player to have a day out that ends up beig the difference. Any interest in Goodes for Sylvia?
  13. Well done RPFC, was coming home quickly just not quite enough. Dangermouse kicking a few was the difference.
  14. Yes, but the going rate outside of the G was a tuppence, thrippence seems a lot for a Pie. They were getting their pound of flesh then as well.....
  15. Jack Riewoldt - 4 points......... Not quite the output required from my gun full forward, when scores are now really important. Going to be a close one JCB
  16. Had conveniently forgotten about that mono, had it safely tucked away along with memories of what's his face who picked up about 20 touches in the last quarter
  17. I hope the game is once again a breast cancer awareness fundraiser - strangely quite liked the pink yoke jumper for us and the pink stripe on the doggies jumper a couple of years back. Need to do it again with the women's game on first. Will be a big night for all women footy watchers
  18. Hold on here..... the AFL has firmly stated that there are to be no jokes involved ever in relation to football clubs. I am deeply concerned that everyone who has posted on this thread will cop a 12 month ban and Demonland will cop a $500,000 fine as the organisation that has allowed a joke to be put in place. If Adrian Anderson saw this we'd all be in trouble.... Actually was he on the list - can I vote twice for AA even though he has been already been sent to the Siberian salt mines?
  19. Gee whiz, not many options to not check. Maybe we should reverse the poll and have one option only - who from this list doesn't need a punch in the head?
  20. Many thanks for the updates WJ And Robbie, after moving to the Capital 18 months ago I find myself a little out of the loop now, it is good to hear and read things that are kept out of mainstream media. As for Don's fickle supporter comments, I find it a little off putting, knowing that I have deliberately not renewed my membership this year - this is purely a financial decision, my first born is now 5 weeks old, I'm in the middle of renovating the house and the good wife is not working for another 6 months minimum. Unfortunately for the MFC my lifelong support is not going to be financial this particular year, as my financial priorities lie elsewhere at this particular moment. I already have a pang of guilt about it and will no doubt return to financial status next year, however should I be made to feel more guilty by the President saying he doesn't want fickle supporters? I am sure that a fair chunk of people struggle to put the money into memberships and it is not necessarily about not caring about the club
  21. Gee wiz I like that photo.... Should use it as an avatar - oh wait
  22. Backs: Adcock Heppell Dunn (B/F) McGrath (B/F) Tapscott Mids: Rockliff (C/F) N.Jones S.Black Cooney (C/F) Cunnington O'Meara Moloney D.Jackson Rucks: Jolly Hudson Hille (R/F) Forwards: J.Riewoldt Rioli A.Goodes Gunston Pretty happy with the make-up of my squad. No out and out gun midfielder in the swan/ablett mould however if Rockliff, jones step up, Beamer makes good in Brissy, and Cooney is over his knee and is flying like the reports say I might be ok. Happy +++ with my forward line( and dual possy forwards for cover), could do with another solid defender for the inevitable injury to Adcock (but maybe captaincy will suit and he'll stay healthy!). Overall content with draft night
  23. So much more quality across the board this year. smaller squad is definitely the way to go. Personally happy with my draft, JA very hard to beat on paper
  24. HT - throw your mind back to the big V games in the late 80's - Dunstall and Lockett both playing out of the goal square with Ablett roaming. Was a treat to watch - no reason we can't have that set up with Clark Dawes and Howe
  25. Todd Viney.......Oh wait we've just landed his mini- me :-) In that case the almighty Theo X (pre knee!). Actually can we just get all our fav's from the 90's and then magically lose their bloody injuries (Jako's back, Gaz's leg/back, Stinga's bloody scar tissue from the plate glass window incident..... It's all Jack Watts fault!)
