  1. Just to throw the cat amongst the pigeons - Cloke snr (david - Travis' manager/dad) was sitting amongst the all powerful Melbourne coterie group yesterday, looking in from afar, I'd say we are serious with our offer - and in the ball park. Make of it what you will.
  2. Very undemon like this Bluey McKenna, Glen Jakovich, John Worsfold Half back line that was just awesome, very very solid, hard straight line runners loved watching those 3 back in the 90's. Played most of my footy at half back/ on ball tried to emulate Bluey, woosha and T Viney - Hard boys that our current crop needs to watch play
  3. Wow. Haven't felt the need to post on this during the discussion as I don't have to add. I just realized it is actually because I really am ambilivent on the issue. No keepers, 4 keepers, 2+2..... I have really enjoyed last year and this year. I like the idea of keepers (oviously having Sandi would be keeper #1 for me) but really don't care one way or the other. Happy just to go with the masses on this Edit: just voted on 2 + 2 young players - kind of like the idea that you could have 'the next ablett' as a cheap young un' and hang on to him as well. But still happy with whatever the masses choose.
  4. I'm hoping that the second half of the year will be huge for Col. Had a crap preseason - car crash, injured then breaks 2 vertebrae in his back. For mine it looks like he is starting to regain some fitness, some touch and a bit of desperation as showed by his pack busting goal. I actually have a bit of faith that he will be good for the rest of the year now
  5. Just voted yes...... Too late perhaps! Leave him there for a few games, leave Watts back - gain some versatility to be able throw Watts forward when we need something different and the Garland can back when needed as well - love it
  6. Why wasn't Sellar in the middle of the song with Clark and Magner? New boys first win I would have thought?
  7. Great to have a win, a little confidence and self belief goes a long long way. Bottle it and bring it back next week. Watts looks a natural back, Garland a target up forward. Tom Mac looks a beauty out there (can't believe I bagged him on here a few weeks back!) A few missed targets to whinge about, other than that everyone played their part - not many passengers if any. Liked it all. Hate those Bomber prIcks, and their feral supporters. Onto the Pies next week
  8. 1 free, 3 handballs, 3 tackles......... Aaaaaaaaggggghhhh...... Bloody Ufooty - well played RPFC Need to gather my boys for a "love in" - we need to clear some air and get back on the winners list
  9. Win by a bee's d$&k - 1 free 1 mark and 4 hit outs, can't believe I snuck past Robbo.
  10. Joel Mac = definition of grunt type player. Playing cats at the cattery - grunt stays. I wouldn't be dropping anyone who displays any grunt for the trip to Geelong, maybe even add Couch to the ins to beef up grunt factor. Frawley, Clark, couch in. Tappy (short of fitness and will be sore from the corkie), Morton ( yes he was better but not at the cattery) toss up for a tall to come out (sellar, watts or maybe even Garland for balance)
  11. Haven't been bothered reading this thread, due to my thoughts that this thread would be super negative about a kid who has fast become one of the most improved players in the game. Tonight, especially in the first half he was immense. He will be our first player in a long time to be classed as A grade, in the elite category. I am loving his work rate at present
  12. Gee 2 weeks ( or was that last week?) ago I was guilty of saying Tom McD wasn't up to it, fumbles galore. Tonight he gave Riewoldt a good old fashioned bath. Jordie Mac really got up Goddards nose. Tapscott had some massive moments, as did Rohan Bail ( fast becoming my favorite Dee). Everyone's favorite whipping boys Barty and Joel Mac did some serious goal saving efforts. Riv, who many including me thought the game may have slipped past him, was good. may well have pinched it with Frawley and Clark playing. There were some really really positve signs, I want to know where this desire, this attack on the man and on the ball has been this year ( and for the most parts the last 2 years). Is it just a confidence thing? Confidence in each other, confidence in the game plan, confidence in their own ability? What ever rocket it was that Neeld used tonight he needs to bottle it - we will win more games than lose playing this brand of football. We may have lost tonight, but I really don't feel bad. We got done by a very small margin that may well have gone the other way but for a couple of tiny lapses in the last quarter when both sides were out on their feet. The mix up (one can only presume it was a mix up) that sent Wilkes to be subbed off may well have cost the saints tonight - really don't understand that -he was te one guy that we didn't cotrol in their forward half
  13. Yes yes it is Back on topic I blame Jack for causing Jack Viney's OP which is apparently much worse than previously thought which will no doubt send his draft position to the rookie draft for us .....,
  14. I blame Jack Watts......... Oops sorry wrong thread!
  15. The explosion of Internet forums..... What happened to when we just went to the footy, read the write upon the record and the dissection on Sunday/Monday papers.... Oh and I also blame Jack for starting this thread just to gain more media exposure - he just doesn't get enought headlines....
  16. I have a sneaking suspicion it was Jack that gave Eve the apple that has doomed us Humans and booted us from the garden of Eden. He can therefor be blamed for every bad thing that has ever happened.
  17. For the Hitler and the 3rd reich - Jack was the blonde haired poster boy that Adolph based his Aryan race around
  18. The filming of the moon landing was filmed in the basement of the Watts family home in downtown Brighton..... It is also rumoured that the original plans for the H-bomb have J Watts signature at the bottom
  19. I heard a rumour that Watts was the second shooter, from behind the grassy knoll..........
  20. Good week to play Robbo24, No Carrazzo, no ablett - the door is ajar for me to sneak past. Might need some canny decisions though at selection table still
  21. Ok for all those in dire straits regarding a playing ruck man - Hudson is officially on the table - 33 hit outs last week. He is my one and only ruck back up. Willing to trade for good midfielder as bernie Vince is now out for a week or 2. Otherwise would take an inconstant ruck man, who may be slightly injured or otherwise not playing due to form ( a la Stephan Martin) if packaged with a good midfielder for a package of say Hudson with Moloney for steak knives
  22. RR you should see my dreamteam this week - fyfe, grimes, lake, now carazzo!, young Greene rested at GWS, coniglio a late withdrawal Ffffaaaaarrrrkkkkkk
  23. Going down to the wire this week JA, I think it will come down to can Trent West get over 27 (at this stage) hit outs for you Edit - now 30 at completion of Brissy game
  24. HT I hope there is nothing that you have inside info re: trading Bernie Vince, all in all though happy to offload $cully your way, will be interesting week given GWS play Adelaide this week
