  1. I guess we should stop harpooning on about this but that ship has sailed.......
  2. Fondest childhood memories being in the rooms pregame with legends of the late 70's and early 80's especially Robbie and Willo going out of their way to make it enjoyable kicking the footy to us (think 5 year old little monsters in the rooms pregame wouldn't happen these days!) - just a deadset legend - oh and could play a bit as well! '87 do it for Robbie' really doesn't seem that long ago
  3. All Australian...... Nah not this year Brownlow..... Come and get it!
  4. Each Round Dangerfields wage is going up by 100k.......
  5. What's Bernie had done - arm in a sling? Oh and Bog v Colliwobbles!
  6. http://m.canberratimes.com.au/afl/afl-news/tom-faul-hopes-all-christmases-come-at-once-in-afl-draft-20140920-10h4ia.html Just a little story on a local Canberra lad, hope he gets picked up somewhere - he's a great kid with a good head on his shoulders - will be very much an X factor project player. Has been playing with Ainslie in the NEAFL and a few games with GWS Ressies this year. Late draft/rookie prospect
  7. ........ He's not the messiah. He's just a very naughty boy!
  8. What Breggsy said - looks like the others all go to the draft/rookie draft
  9. Wagner to Port Apparently the Irish bloke has signed with Geelong. Would think big Bradie and Reece have something to offer as rookie projects
  10. Ok so Roos is ok without Clark and Chip.... We need a forward set up - perhaps deals already done regarding an up and coming young key forward to accompany Hogan - bringing this back to the forgotten man in JC (Jeremy Cameron not Jesus Christ - although it could be the second coming if we landed him!) who there the rumours about a little whole back. Just reading between the crumbs of information, Roos has also previously said we're not takings forward out of the TAC system for various reasons - I'm wondering if it means we already have one stitched up??
  11. Deadset had a [censored] gutful. The manhandling of our guys that doesn't get paid, the holdng the balls where our bloke gets the footy and tackled while still in the air ( the McDonald one) other times when jetta is tackled as soon as soon as he gets the pill and has no chance of getting it out while basically directly in front. This just deadset pisses me off Yes we've been garbage for some time. It's not our ineptness that is turning me off the game. As a 40 year old who played at various levels for 30 years but the way the way the games officiated and what appears to my eyes as deadset [censored] cheating and deliberate officiating against the club I have ingrained on my DNA that has pushed me away. It's not the carp umpiring tonight - I've come to expect it but it's now a generation worth of it. Someone posted the numbers of frees against us at Perth compared to Melbourne, it happens everywhere against us. And I for one am absolutely [censored] sick of it. The powers that be need to return umpiring desicions to something that should by any means be an even affair and not be deliberately influencing games. \end drunk rant
  12. Would it help if in the article it mentioned that the samples were taken while players were overseas? Out of interest who were doing overseas preseason training and complaining about targeting testing while in Arizona? 2010 grand finalists with black and white stripes methinks.....
  13. Hallelujah! Finally someone who actually gets it writing an article on the matter
  14. What was that about lady Macbeth... Sorry Jaques Tird. (Had the soliloquy memorised for a school English exam 20something years ago - who knew it was really about Hird - obviously Andruska/ASADA is Duncan in Hirdy's mind) Hark,The raven himself is hoarse That croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan Under my battlements. Come, you spirits That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, And fill me from the crown to the toe top-full Of direst cruelty. Make thick my blood. Stop up the access and passage to remorse, That no compunctious visitings of nature Shake my fell purpose, nor keep peace between The effect and it! Come to my womans breasts, And take my milk for gall, you murd'ring ministers, Wherever in your sightless substances You wait on natures mischief. Come, thick night, And pall thee in the dunnest smoke of hell, That my keen knife see not the wound it makes, Nor heaven peep through the blanket of the dark To cry Hold, hold!
  15. Still trying to work out why these idiots are doing this. Regardless of the result - ASADA will continue to investigate one way or another until they have the evidence and then they will reissue the show show cause letters if that's what it takes. I just don't get the point of it - other than wasting everyone's time and pissing off the people who will end up destroying the fabric of the football club (or at least what's left of it!!!). Seems to be an act of printing ones own death warrant by the idiots
  16. At the point of really couldn't give two shits one way or the other. He stays - awesome we have a solid tall defender who can swing forward when needed. if he leaves for greener pastures who could blame him, I couldn't. We get compensated with what should be an adequate draft pick (early first round) which for the first time in a longtime doesn't feel like it will be squandered. If the rumours of potentially luring Cameron or Shiel are true, we may well be better off losing him but I'm an old school loyal type and I think the spud farmers are too and he wouldn't be leaving lightly. It would be a massive life choice for him, stay for the benefit of being a one club player and seeing the good times after the crap or jump ship and land on the coat tails of others. I'd stay but that's me - other blokes have successfully changed allegiances for success and are very well received universally. As I said at the start if he stays great, if he leaves - good luck to him and I have faith in Roos and co to deliver replacements
  17. My first thought is he's told the he's out, they go well we're not gunna play you anymore - might as well get your ankle done
  18. Only guess is he doesn't yet have the tank for 4 quarters - no preseason, broken leg. No one injured before 3/4 time, really tight close game need blokes who will make the distance. FWIW I agree he shouldn't have got the vest, don't know who I would have subbed out, but would have loved Kents attack on the footy much earlier in the game..... Like from the start!
  19. Well of course it's all Jack Watts fault - just goes without saying these days. No point in harping on about it. Roos keeps sticking up for him so even though we all know Jacks to blame for the silly blue sky, it's ok because Roos says it is!
  20. Half back line for me. Can get lost forward with our crappy supply. Using his athleticism to influence the contest is far more important than getting a few touches without damaging up forward. Will grow into the role and be our own Peter Knights/Trevor Barker style high marking backline star.
  21. As for the argument of they didn't know what they were taking. I wouldn't have thought too many Chinese swimmers, or Russian and East German athletes would have had any idea what they were taking or the legality of it - just that they were take what they were given. But not 1 person on here or anywhere else for that matter would think for one second that those athletes shouldn't be banned. I for one an unequivocal - if the players took or were injected with illegal substances they get banned. If as it seems there is a systemic approach the club needs to go as well. Unfortunately there is only black and white here, ultimately there is only one person responsible for what goes in your body - yourself. That has been forgotten.
  22. I wore number 12 in school footy - Todd Viney is the guy who I tried to model my game on. Absolutely loved the way he went about. 12 has good memories for me - the incumbent would serve you well, however if I jumped forwards to now - it would be Viney junior AKA number 7 that I would choose and be happy for my little man (who is now 16 months old) to grow up idolising
  23. ..... So he's Simon Godfrey then ;-) (Although Godders did have a tank, you wouldn't put his tank in the the same category as a Judd or a cousins or an ablett.....)
