  1. JJC - it's a good point you make, and I have no info to add to above re allegiances of candidates. Is the answer to vote for the incumbents, as relationship seems to have been sound b/n MFC and MCC in recent years?
  2. SCG in 2006, close win, or is my memory playing tricks?
  3. I got there at quarter time for this. Good summary of his game from what I saw - class above those around him, and used the ball well. Seemed to be in the centre square for most of the ball-ups, but also drifted forward - as indicated by the goals.
  4. Indeed! Although Joeboy might find consolation in the words of Mr O. Wilde, along the lines of "the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about".
  5. Thanks for the report, Jono. Btw, the chap you're referring to there is John Lord, who was a KPP during the 50's/60's. Lordy and I between us have played in 4 MFC premierships...
  6. Joeboy - like your TWA.
  7. You late-comer, you! Jim Cardwell says hi. Percy Page seconds the emotion. And I reckon Cam might nod sagely.
  8. Thanks for the compliment, but sadly I am merely humble Tim. It's as transparent as that...
  9. Sigh...... Subtlety alert warning.
  10. Indeed. You don't have to like her or what she says. She may have not put the spotlight on others re tanking (e.g., Richmond), but that doesn't make her wrong in her comments re MFC. Whether or not she has vendettas against the club or individuals doesn't make her wrong in her assessments of same. At the moment my concerns are in relation to how we rectify the mess we're in, not in how to vilify the person who has described the mess. And, to pre-empt the ostrich brigade - I am not Caro.
  11. 6. Garland 5. N. Jones 4. M. Jones 3. Dunn 2. Evans 1. Sylvia
  12. No responsibility here to be shouldered by Mr Moloney?
  13. See you tonight Geoff.
  14. I always start getting edgy when I hear people talking like this. Why the need to invoke integrity? I'd like to think that it's taken as a given.
  15. Agree with this Red - I like it. Opt out option would be good for those of Redleg's view, I guess.
  16. Maia Westrupp (pronounced Myer)
  17. There is a lot to like there. And the ethos at training will ensure that there is a better chance of these players (and the others) presenting to the best of their ability - Ben, you would have seen this.
  18. Well do I remember our pick coming up, and feeling excited that Atley would slip through to us. Only to be sent scurrying to the newspaper guides to find the name Cook. To be fair, I was also soon shuffling through the same papers to find info on Howe, J, and McDonald, T. We nailed the hard ones and missed the gimme.
  19. Agree re C. Sylvia. Maybe a run at Renmark might sharpen him up. Kent was good - reminded me of an old style half-forward flanker.
  20. For starters I reckon Goodesy was running round on GF day at the G kicking a bagful in front of anyone who wanted to watch, including the recruiting managers of 16 clubs.
  21. MFC home games at Alberton and Fremantle Oval would probably be the shallow end of the down side.
  22. Sorry to get back to the topic, but.... One positive thing I did notice in my time there yesterday was the boy Blease doing long, unrewarded running from deep back to be in a position to receive mid-field. And not requiring resuscitation when he got there. In contrast to games last year where he would have hands on knees, and breathing heavily just doing a normal chase. The good thing about this is that it is not a Pollyana-type comment ("Bleaser is on fire" in not real match situations) - this is something that he will bring to his game this year as a real improvement. To my eye, anyway!
  23. I was there for a short time. Tapscott was in the game, playing with the white shorts.
