  1. The Tiges at least making some progress with their fear of the dark, after 4 nocturnal losses in a row.
  2. 6 Viney 5 Gawn 4 Jones, N 3 Hogan 2 Jetta 1 Watts Would like to give a special mention to J Howe
  3. Perfect summation. Wagner shows something, but not enough at the moment to hold out Frankie.
  4. Thought that Tyson was good. Wagner showed some poise in his first game. Less enthused than you by Dunny. Agree with most of the rest. Watts - important score involvements
  5. Perhaps Hoges could get some advice from him on diving routines.
  6. Has anyone heard any news on Jesse's progress?
  7. Actually 2nd game back. First game was against Collingwood where he kicked a few, and we won nicely in front of a big crowd. That was an outstanding day, and a real high to descend from the following week.
  8. I was there for a little bit of the match sim. I was impressed by Hunt's defensive intensity; he has the speed and he was using it to pressure opposing forwards. Hope it translates to game day. And while Trenners was still on light duties and not in the match sim, he was joining in the drills before the match and looked to be moving freely. Fingers crossed, and toes.
  9. I believe that he was recruited by Footscray in the early 70's, but that he had been a big fan of Big Bob Johnson who starred for East Freo in the early to mid 60's. This translated into a soft spot for Melbourne Football Club, apparently. Terrific commentator. I'll miss him.
  10. Round 15, 2004. Reminded me of another game where a Saints forward had a field day against us, but we still thrashed them; round 4 in 1987, and Lockett kicked 12 of St Kilda's 14 goals to lose by 47 points. I could take week after week of opposition players tearing us like that.
  11. Murray Weideman, 1958 Grand Final. When it really counted. Might we dream of some "tearing up" of oppositions obo MFC by someone out of the same gene pool?
  12. The signing of the consent forms has always puzzled me - what was the thinking behind having these "sign ons"?
  13. Mark Kenny of Fairfax? And you won't read it because…?
  14. Born 21 November 1915 at Clifton Hill. Demon legend. Hoping the Curse had a 50 year use-by on it.
  15. Max King.
  16. So the jury's definitely still out...
  17. And 18 yo Brent Grgic lit up our expectations of a superstar key forward in waiting. Sadly…. Oh, and Joel Smith's old man kicked 5 goals from his 6 kicks.
  18. One of our more memorable games these last 50 odd years: Elimination Final 1987. North Melbourne's 18 yo Shaun Smith whacked by Mr Dean Chiron, former St Kilda player. Our boy got a week, and was back for the Prelim.
  19. JJ, one nasty one on SS (may have broken his jaw) was by one of Lockett's teammates - does it ring a bell?
  20. Nice to see you keeping a lid on expectations there, Nasher...
  21. Indeed. It's a sort of Josh Kelly deal in reverse for us, and would be a surprise as such.
  22. Agree with the thrust of the post, but at least this didn't happen.
  23. Nailed it in three. Sentences.
  24. There's a lot to like about him, and natural improvement and development should make him a useful part of our group.
