  1. Why would North want to get rid of Brown, what is wrong with him? They aren't going to get a lot for him, early third round pick maybe second, North have Larkin as a young developing tall but not ready to shoulder the load just yet. It doesn't make sense unless there is an underlying issue that North know about.

Earlier in the year after the Suns v Richmond game, Hardwick in his press conference defended his player/team, the comment was along the lines off, the best teams play on the edge and often cross it that is what it takes to be a good side. Was thinking great I have 10 kids in my junior side that follow Richmond and they will go out and belt kids now. The arrogance of Richmond is really getting off the charts. They have every right but being humble in victory earns you a lot of respect. That is what example we want to set.
  3. Don't the players have to take the ownership along with the coaches and club to bring success. I hate seeing statements like"we need success or Oliver will leave" how about Oliver becomes that match winner when it matters like against Fremantle and Sydney. Our good players go missing when it matters, they turn the ball over at critical times of he match and in Oliver's we need to see him play more games like the one I think V North when he was Judd like bursting away from the contest, taking the game on and kicking the football, that is the Oliver we need not the one that get 20 1m flick handballs per game. On trade targets, we need to sound out Geelongs Ratugolea, if we are going to lose Preuss this guy is idea 2nd our 3rd tall Foward/Ruck. He would slot at CHF and work well with Jackson and Weiderman. He would be upset at Geelong and now rumours they are going hard for Cameron just pushes him further down the chain.
  4. I think there is no question that Brayshaw will be on the table if clubs ask about him. Cameron is a good player, I doubt we are in the mix for him but who knows the Giants need to start worrying about losing young players that are early picks due to paying to much to keep players, they might be prepared to lose Cameron and keep 2-3 developing players instead of these kids looking elsewhere.
  5. The bottom line is we have a player that other clubs need and if you are a player you want to be playing at the highest level not playing down at Casey hoping Gawn gets injured. When we traded for Preuss I think the club thought he would play 70% forward and 30% ruck in tandem with Max, it hasn't worked out as Preuss's forward work isn't good enough. He needs to go somewhere as No 1 ruck, hopefully he can get this and we get want we want for the trade
  6. What do we consider a massive win, to me a pick in the late 20s early 30s or getting our first pick into the 8 to 14 range.
  7. That's not right, didn't he get us Petracca or Brayshaw? Jeez being Full Back in the period he was for us anyone would want out. Getting smashed each week by big forwards with a truck load of supply. He served us well through his time at the Dee's right to the very end when we got overs for him as compensation.

Essendon aren't in as much trouble as North, but they a pretty close. Their core group are getting on, don't really have any young players to be overly excited by. Saad and Daniher are actually doing them a favour, they will get to add first round picks to their list, get them playing with some senior players around them, bank some Salary Cap or have a red hot crack at Jeremy Cameron. If the Dons could walk away from Trade week with Cameron, 3 first round draft picks and Ben Brown, you would be pretty happy
  9. The Eagles don't stay down for long, they do have an aging list, we need to go past them in 2021. The other side of playing for the Eagles the $$$ you can make outside of footy is a lot more than what he would make playing for Melbourne
  10. That is my fear with Jackson, will no question be on West Coasts radar as a replacement for Nic Nat

Will be interesting to see the coin he has been offered. Would love the compensation to be end of first round pick, Essendon supporters will spew if they get pick 19 or 20 for him which will be pushed back into mid 20's after NGA/FS bidding. They will most likely get mid first round pick or after there first, might give bombers pick 6, 7(Carltons for Saad), and 8ish Daniher comp pick.
  12. Don't get to hung up on the length of the contract, the way trading is these days a contract doesn't mean much. If a club or a players wants out and another club wants him the trade gets done. Glad to see him stay. It will make for an interesting trade week, I reckon if a club came knocking with the right deal for Brayshaw the club would entertain it. Would need to be a top 5 pick at least with something else kicked in like future second or third round.

No it hasn't but last time they got caught for that the club still hasn't recovered

North are in massive trouble, they will need to add a lot of Delisted Free agents to fill there list. The club could be heading to Tasmania the way they are going.

I just can't see how a club like Carlton can be luring players with big cash. The TPT hasn't been set, you would have to assume there is a clause that the amount agreed will be reduced in line with the AFL TPT reduction, if there isn't you can bust your salary cap pretty quickly.
  16. This will be Pert's first seasons end Review at Melbourne, a fresh set of opinions with no real emotional link to anyone at the club. 2018/19 I agree we got it wrong, turned over some assistant coaches and the one we brought in seem to have little impact. Burgess was a win and upgrade, medical and conditioning team have performed well our injury list was short all season and we ran out games, something that would have been identified in the 2019 review. The big question is Mahoney, from what we were told Jackson rated him to step up to take his role, the board went Pert. He has overseen an under performing Football Team for a number of years, basically he has been the only constant in the club.
  17. We need an expectation that we are a top 4 side or working towards this, just scraping into the finals isn't good enough. Any business or in this instance Football Club that doesn't continually review is doomed to fail. You need to make changes to make you better, getting it wrong is OK as long as your learn and adjust. Even Richmond will do a review of all personal at seasons end, they know they have to get better to stay at the top.
  18. I don't see why this is a big deal, even on footy classified last night it was made out to be something not good for the club. Every club will do a review of all personal at the end of the season. You want to get better and you need to ensure to have the right people/structures in place to do this. If there are better people available for roles with in your club you get them. Some clubs will decide that they are happy with the current staff and direction, others like us that need to take the next step and improve. It is more important now as you need to reduce your soft cap spend, you want to review to make the right calls.
  19. I think he is one of those players that could easy slide to our pick, I think there is a number a similar mids in the draft. He has a big advantage that he has played senior WAFL football this season, I rate him higher than Jack Carroll. The other player that will be around same mark is Nik Cox, never seen him play but like 199cm key forward/back.

Thanks, does you 2400 points include the discount they get, I think it's 30% or something like that

They get the rumoured best young player in the competition and to me a massive missing key in their list. Worse case we don't get the pick swap 47/36, I would still be happy to move our pick 23 forward 11 spots for Preuss. I think we can still get a very good player at 12, not to say we won't at 23 but we will have more options at 12. Would love for us to get this pick somehow
  22. I reckon more an Outside mid but is hard as nails so can go inside if needed. He has a bit of polish about him.
  23. drdrake replied to WERRIDEE's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep, but they get Preuss as well which I thing if you put that 600 points into a draft pick that would be around mid 3rd round about right value for Preuss
  24. The other kid from WA I like that might be around at our current first pick is O'Driscoll from Perth, he played seniors this year and I watched him in the Semi's a few weeks back, looks like a good kick nice size.

I think Oscar is a third defender, body to body he has always struggled, but playing as a third defender he is a good mark, reads to play well and kicks it OK. The issue is we like playing Lever as third defender and I think the club see Oscar behind Lever, Smith and Tomlinson. Throw Petty and if we keep Hore in the mix and our tall defenders look to have depth.
