WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Yes there will be, I think he has some issues that North know about that we don't, these might not be injury based but something else. I just can't understand why they are so keen to get rid of the bloke, he wanted to stay. The reasons we want him should be the same reasons North want to keep him. Pick 43 should be enough but I understand that it won't, one of our pick 26/31/33 should be enough. I get the feeling we will give up one of our early picks and 43 or 50, I really hope we don't cough up two picks.

2020 NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER AND SELECTIONS
You would think so, we have only removed 3 players from our senior list and maybe KK as well. With list sizes likely to reduce by 2 and us adding Brown will are looking at really only using 3 maybe 4 picks tops, can't see us using any of the picks beyond our current 50 unless for a rookie upgrade. Would say one of 26/31/33 will be needed for Brown, leaving the other 2 for pick upgrade, hoping for Fremantle's 12, they have 2 players in NGA that will be mid first round pick, if they use 12 in the draft the bids won't be to far after this pick they will be facing a point deficit in 2021. Also no guarantee a club prior to pick 12 won't bid for one of their NGA players. The other option is going after Collingwoods future first round pick

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
If the club does that we will continue to be the laughing stock of the AFL. North Melbourne don't want him, he wanted to stay at North but they are kicking him out to the curb. Big question marks over his knee and his ability to return to his best form. Pick 43 should be our offer but most likely we will have to give up pick 31 or 33. Brown is a fire sale from North just like TMac will be for us, the only difference is Brown is out of contract and has a buyer, TMac has a contract and doesn't have a buyer at this stage.

Trade Targets
He is better than what we have outside Pickett who would still be behind Lonie but has a massive upside

Rumour only file ...
Don't the Dockers have a couple of highly rated kids in the NGA, wonder if they are willing to part with pick 12
-
AFL Trade Radio
Both have injury concerns and have been no where near their best for a while. Tmac had the ability to get up the ground more where Brown is purely a hit up leading Full Forward.
-
Trade Targets
Any chance to make a play for Lonie from St Kilda, small creative forward that would complement Pickett

How about just pick 50, North don't want Ben Brown they made that clear to him. The guy is damaged goods, he is to North what Tmac is to Melbourne

Farewell Braydon Preuss
I reckon with all the first round picks GWS may be getting, that we might just be looking to improve pick 26 into the teens for Preuss, might take a few later pick swaps as well but that would be a good outcome

Welcome to Demonland - Pick 33 & Pick 50
North don't want him, they have clearly stated that, pick 33 is more than enough, I reckon 50 should be enough. We are just building mid range picks to better our draft position.

Rumour only file ...
I don't think there is any fear of the coach in the players, we are all buddy buddy, there has to be a element of fear, if you don't follow team instructions there will be consequences. As mentioned though we don't have the depth to hold some players accountable
-
Rumour only file ...
Only if they can be taught and we either haven't been teaching correctly or players not listening, we don't have the midfield depth to know which one is true, I would say a mixture of both. A team will always beat a team of individuals no matter how good those individuals are, our back 6 are I think we saw last year with May as the General back there started to really work for each other this season. Our mids and forwards don't show any signs that they have progressed in the team football approach.

Rumour only file ...
This is why I'm open to trade Oliver or Brayshaw, I don't want to get to the end of 2021 and be having the same discussions about our midfield group and I think these 2 and Viney need a massive re-education on playing team football, I'm not sure they will be able to adjust.

Rumour only file ...
We have good individual players in our midfield, but as a group they are poor. That is the challenge for the coaching staff getting our players and in particular the ones you mention playing team football rather than selfish football. I often compare out team to an U9 side they all go to where the ball is and all want to possession, they need to be coached to work for each other, there is only 1 football in play at 1 time means only 1 person can have it. We need to work harder off the ball to create space, make it easier to for our team mates to win the ball and get a clean possession rather than the under pressure 1m flick handballs. The forward line just doesn't apply more pressure to keep the ball inside our 50m arc and repeat entries, that is why I'm surprised we haven't been linked to any small pressure forwards

On Salem, I think we will see a different player in 2021. Over the past few years it would be difficult to be that run and carry HBF as you are mindful of the ball being turned over, little forward pressure keeping the ball locked inside our 50m arc and your opponent hurting you on the rebound. I think with the back 6 we will have plus the defensive running of our wings it will allow Rivers/Hibberd/Salem to take more risks knowing that someone will cover your opponent. The reason why Houli is so damaging is he knows that if he takes off, his forwards will pressure to keep the football so he isn't caught out of position defensively and if he is someone will help him to cover his man. We need more forward pressure it enables your HBF to take more risks. I'm surprised we haven't been linked to any small forward through trade talk.

Welcome to Demonland - Pick 43 & Future Rd 4 Pick
Or that is the Pick for Brown

Farewell Mitch Hannan
It is us trading them a player not the other way around. To make up their points they need to trade a player, no club will offer the overs they need to make up points, the deal mentioned gives the 217 more points then there current pick is worth.
-
Farewell Mitch Hannan
We don't need to cover the 2400 points only the value of pick 14, 1141 points. As Spirit of Norm Smith mentioned pick 25 and 30 gives them 1358 points so really we should be asking for pick 14 and future second round pick for picks 25 and 30 plus Hannan. If you use points as a basis say Dogs have pick 30 next year that we get 629 points, take off the 217 points we gave them as overs it will work out to be equal to pick 41 in next years draft. Pick 41 is about right trade for Hannan. It enables the dogs to get closer to the 2400 points they need. They are a mile off having enough points to cover the bid, as it stands now they only have 1773 points, they need to get more picks in, you don't really want your first round next year being effected unless they have a F/S pick next year.
-
Farewell Mitch Hannan
The dogs will need about 2400 points, to cover the bid. There current first pick is about 1150 points, if we can get a mid 30s pick for Preuss, plus our pick 25 we could offer these and hannan for dogs first round and future third round. Offer north this future 3rd round for Brown

AFL Trade Radio
Be interesting how this trade plays out. Bulldogs are getting a player that Adelaide should bid on for pick 1. I cant remember the discount you get for nga bids. It would be great to find a way to bundle up Hannan with some picks and go after bulldogs first round pick

TMac on the Trade Table?
So he is done as a KPF were he creates the run and a defender follows, but move him back to man someone up and be reactive to their movement. If his body is like you say, he will get absolutely carved up playing back and there will be a good chance May will punch him. Don't forget he was moved forward because his form down back was extremely poor and he was going to be dropped. Trade him or get him as good as he can get and let him fight for a KPF spot.
-
Rumour only file ...
Shouldn't this be a trade Geelong should do
-
TMac on the Trade Table?
Agree, if he stays at MFC forget a different role he is in a battle with Weiderman/Brown/Brown/Jackson for a KPF slot each week. I do think though if Tom stays M Brown will be gone. We want that, for to long we have handed players who are in poor form games.
-
Shaun McKernan
Isn't the reason we drafted Jackson was that he was a ruck like Grundy only better mobility. He isn't ready to take the No1 mantle for a couple of years but he will be primed when either Max or Nik Nat retire.
-
TMac on the Trade Table?
I think that might be a pretty much the same response we will get from all clubs. Tom has been poor for 2 seasons, someone might take him as a fire sale but certainly not a priority for any club
