2020 Contracts and List Details
I think the club will be watching the State league comps closely and get a player in Mid season draft when we remove KK off the list. Not a bad idea I'm sure there will be a number of players that will not be drafted due to the fact that no one saw them in 2020.

Pies into Petracca?
So we have Petracca to the Pies, Oliver to the Blues, Brayshaw to Freo, Jackson to WCE. Of course clubs will try to poach Petracca from us when his contract is up, he will be considered a top 1-3 player in the competition by then. It is up to the club and players to have success so good players don't leave

Punt Road redevelopment
This is why to me the only real option is staying at the oval we train at now, increase the size a little which is why we are talking a Docklands size oval not MCG and put the clubrooms/indoor Facities/offices over the outdoor carpark at AMMI park. The only other option is leave the precinct which I don't think the club will do.

Punt Road redevelopment
I reckon the State government is investing in all this AFL infrastructure as you will see a massive drop in new commercial real estate builds in the next few years. Occupancy rates will fall not only from business closures, the online shopping boom and working from home will become the new norm for a number of Victorians. The window is now and will be interested to see our plans, we either don't have any firm plans or we have them and just awaiting the right time to announce. To me I think we will be at the current ground with the building over the car park at AAMI park.

Punt Road redevelopment
Has to be something to do with The Reach foundation and youth. So that is every Victorian club except us and I Hawthorn but there will be funding for Dingley. You hope with the role change of the Footy Manager that something is in the pipeline.

Farewell Oscar McDonald
I think Oscar will get another opportunity at AFL level, someone will pick him up as a Delisted Free agent

Punt Road redevelopment
What you will see in all the press releases about these upgrades you need to do it in conjunction with something Female, Multi-cultural, Indigenous, other organisations(Pies I think are VIS, Essendon Para-Olympic). The issue we face in the precinct we are in Collingwood and Richmond have a lot of the community aspect covered. Be interesting if the locals kick up about the Richmond re-development as much as they did about our proposed site at the Yarra Park, I'm sure they will be looking for additional land to expand the oval and grand stands

Punt Road redevelopment
So far we have big tax payer money for Geelong, Footscray, North, Richmond, Carlton and Essendon. I really don't understand how the general community benefit of spending huge amounts of money on AFL teams. I get the financial impact AFL has on the Victorian Economy but State and Federal governments just throwing money at clubs isn't money well spent. St Kilda and Collingwood have had recent cash to upgrade their facilities I'm sure Hawthorn has received a good whack for Dingley, seems we are the only club that has missed out I hope we do have a good business case for a location as it seems all means of Government are pumping cash into AFL facilities.

TRADES, DELIST, PROMOTE
KK spot will be the one we hold for Mid season draft, I think someone mentioned that he can be removed off our list for this, similar to what Richmond did with Grigg to get Marlon Pickett I think Nietschke will be held onto as a rookie OMAC Delist Chandler Delist, cant see them keeping both Bedford and Chandler

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Zavier Maher sounds like the type of player we need, explosive and lowers his eyes and hits targets inside 50m.

Rumour only file ...
Why, that is a risk you take when drafting top end talent from other states. You need to hope your program can keep them. There would be no question the WCE would be chasing him as a replacement for Nic Nat.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
I don't think anyone was against picking Brown up, the main point off difference was his value and based on the points getting him for the approx pick 36 is right. We now hope he can deliver

Draft Targets Positions
Outside mids and small mid size forwards

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
This is a forum that people will have differing opinions on players, on trades, on the club if we all had the same opinion this site wouldn't exist as we would know what everyone is thinking. You also don't know what people's Football knowledge is, what level they have played or coached at, the connections they may have at the club or with in AFL circles. Just because someone has a different opinion to you doesn't make them less a supporter or you better than them. You think offering 2 picks for Brown is a good idea, others don't, we will wait and see what the deal is and then be judged by our opinion once we see what Brown puts on the park, not on what he has done but what he will actually do. I'm happy to be proven totally wrong and you are welcome to bump this thread late next year and I will cop my whack and will happy to do so because if I am we are playing finals with a dominant forward

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Only time will tell, will the rose coloured glass wearers have the "I told you so" rights in 12 months or will it be the nah-sayers which I am one on this trade. May I was all for, bloody good player and more importantly is the general not afraid of telling his team mates how it is

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
He had 2 years on his contracted and North only signed him last year. Doesn't matter his age he was contracted, our bloke isn't and they don't want him. I will though do a better deal 26 and 43 for Brown and 30
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
So a contracted, required player is let free for pick 30, we are after a uncontracted player that was shown the door pick 43

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
IMO he is better deeper and gets lost high up the ground. You can see the way they played him this year he was our deepest forward, our other tall played in front of him, that is why Preuss and him up forward didn't work in 2020. Yep, I will dare to say that would be jumping over someone rather than body on body contested. Let's re-visit this in 12 months, I think he will be a flop, I'm hopeful that I'm wrong but the way he is leaving North has me extremely concerned.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
The other side of this argument is the uncertainty that Brown will be able to get back to his best and our midfield can deliver the football to him. He isn't a contested big body Forward, he is a tall hit up forward that his performance will hinge on how we kick the ball to him. If we continue kicking the ball like we do having Brown will be a massive fail. Also I'm on the side of if he has the potential to return to anywhere near his best form why are North kicking him out of the club to bring in an 18 yo that most likely hasn't played in 2020 at pick 30 ish. I also don't think he and Weiderman can work in the same forward line, both need to play as our deepest forward neither are a CHF.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
No he isn't and I will reckon that if we pulled out of the deal Brown would still be there for us in National draft at pick 31.
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Yes there will be, I think he has some issues that North know about that we don't, these might not be injury based but something else. I just can't understand why they are so keen to get rid of the bloke, he wanted to stay. The reasons we want him should be the same reasons North want to keep him. Pick 43 should be enough but I understand that it won't, one of our pick 26/31/33 should be enough. I get the feeling we will give up one of our early picks and 43 or 50, I really hope we don't cough up two picks.

2020 NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER AND SELECTIONS
You would think so, we have only removed 3 players from our senior list and maybe KK as well. With list sizes likely to reduce by 2 and us adding Brown will are looking at really only using 3 maybe 4 picks tops, can't see us using any of the picks beyond our current 50 unless for a rookie upgrade. Would say one of 26/31/33 will be needed for Brown, leaving the other 2 for pick upgrade, hoping for Fremantle's 12, they have 2 players in NGA that will be mid first round pick, if they use 12 in the draft the bids won't be to far after this pick they will be facing a point deficit in 2021. Also no guarantee a club prior to pick 12 won't bid for one of their NGA players. The other option is going after Collingwoods future first round pick
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
If the club does that we will continue to be the laughing stock of the AFL. North Melbourne don't want him, he wanted to stay at North but they are kicking him out to the curb. Big question marks over his knee and his ability to return to his best form. Pick 43 should be our offer but most likely we will have to give up pick 31 or 33. Brown is a fire sale from North just like TMac will be for us, the only difference is Brown is out of contract and has a buyer, TMac has a contract and doesn't have a buyer at this stage.

Trade Targets
He is better than what we have outside Pickett who would still be behind Lonie but has a massive upside
-
Rumour only file ...
Don't the Dockers have a couple of highly rated kids in the NGA, wonder if they are willing to part with pick 12
