  1. Looking at the statistics for 2014. Tommy Mac leads in the 1%er by about double the nearest. Everybody gets caught out when the ball is coming lace out ala Beams -Cloke (right side of body ,too ) and that was on Dunne. I admit Tommy needs to work on kicking, but I think it is confidence in that everything is still happening too quickly (in his mind) Worth more than a Pick 53, turned out like a pick 10, a bonus.
  2. I read the article and did not take much notice of what some people are getting on their bike about. The main point to me was the loss of a young man's dream and how things have fallen off for him. I will still remember his skills and only hope that he uses them as a catalyst to improve his situation. If he does that he will have achieved more than being an afl Footballer. I really think many appreciate how difficult it was for Liam to get as far as he did and that was a credit to the people from "Collingwood Industrial Magpies who got him the opportunity. Admittedly he has gone off the rails a bit , but we should not abandon him.
  3. Somehow there has been a massive change in some players, and Jetta, Bail & Pederson are classics. They are now genuine contributors. We seem to forget that Bail was going really well until he was injured 2 years ago . He has now got his confidence back. Isn't it good to see players persevere and we change our opinions of them . You could add improvers like Matt Jones and Tommy Mac which is giving our side depth. Don't give up on Evans yet. Plus Nicholson can run the pants off a Kangaroo, just needs to finish his work off. Jetta seems to have pinched his spot though .
  4. At this stage in our development we should be pleased with today. Just ran out of puff in the last 5 minutes ( hence some of the decision making brain fades). And that was after running with the fittest team in the league. How could we criticise the efforts of Jones Tyson and Viney overall. Hearts and bodies on the line all day Look at Thursday nights game. That will be us in 3 years IF we amintain our effort.
  5. Three young blokes under 21 Tyson,Salem & VIney. Plus JKH and Toumpas . Jetta has found his spot Future looks good
  6. Kennedy Haris was VG today. Presents all day THEy just ran out of steam in the last 5 minutes. N Jones : Terrific Watts : Sensational first half. GOt sunstroke though. He is working harder. Frawley : Mini Dawes Attacked the Ball Petersen,Bail Jetta & Dunn : Gone from marginal AFL to Good. Like Jetta and Bails attack on the ball In perspective : Decade of arrogance has begun !!
  7. The good thing about him is that he may not be the gun shearer, but turns up for work every day !! You have to admire him,he thinks every time his oponent gets a kick/mark he kicks himself in the head. . However he does not lose the next contest ,does he ?? The kicking will come when he realises how much time he has. Experience. Actually the back 6 has enabled us to move James F up the ground (plus we have got two Bakment who can play fwd : DUnne & Garland)
  8. Bit harsh on Frawley. He was injured. Presented. Grimes : Gutsy & Great Jetta : proving me and a few others wrong. Well done for persevering JKH : Thought he was NAB /Foxtel flavour of the week. I was wrong !!! Bail/Terlich/Dunn : Roman road builders (everything in a straight line) Howe : Confidence returning Watts : showed good heart and chased.Next step confidence return. Coaching Staff : Patient & Progressive Macca: Another dragon slain. Dangerfield : dont need him ( he is good, though !!) Jones/Dawes/Grimes : Leadership and courage Viney: Learning from Cross Cross: Great pickup because he plays with heart Doesn't a win change attitude ??? Notice in last couple of weeks : no head dropping when things go awry.
  9. Joking about Dawes aren't we. Leave the Forward line alone, just get people to kick it to them properly. Decision making !!!!! I honestly thought that Watts would have been brilliant in that role, but he is not presenting well enough. Likewise with Toumpas and Trengrove, but they are not in the side. At times (very few) we worked the ball really well on Saturday . We are getting VG at stopping scoring, we just need to rebound and that takes intelligent running. Keep Byrnes as a sub.
  10. Let us not be Carro/Stvo/Hutchy & Robbo clones. Iadmitt JW seems to be running in 2nd gear, but I also trust Roos and the Coaching staff. Would love to see results though. Being a bit harsh on Howe though because he was small forward(playing as a big forward) when the delivery was non existent ( That is the next stage of development). Started to get some mojo back into his marking which is a good sign. Thought his goal the other noght was pretty speeeeeshuuuul.
  11. In oder of Accepability : Matty Knights Jade Rawlings Brett Kirk Junior Micky O However I think the assistant successor may come from one of the 4 remaining clubs or either West/Knights otherwise it would be announced by now
  12. Get some bloke out to run Jack Watts & Jimmy Toumpas until he breaks the 9 sec barrier 10 times in a row. He would be a great Outside Mid fielder alongside Toumpas. Both of them have got really good delivery skills. Solves our excess of forwards too !! Then get Watts /Toumpas (in their breaks from 200m Reps to teach Michael Evans to kick. Get Jack Grimes to do 500 15 yd sprints as well . ANd then we are all laughing !!
  13. Agree with last comment. I think his writings about his dad, his growing up and Jurrah are classics
  14. Yeh, I am a leftie and dont like his politics or the way he went about it. HOWEVER at least he is a Melbourne Person and is not a Grandstander. My only question is whether he has a high enough public profile which may affect marketing.
  15. Nathan Jones : gone from 2 grab player to strong in & under midfielder Davey : Injury free must be working harder Watts : toughened up Effort in 1on 3's yesterday were good Evans : Patience with unjury McDonald: WIP Garland : has developed real passion. Frawley : Has not really lowered his colours this year despite ..... Dawes : has changed the way he plays under MN. Giving us a target instead of being a decoy. Plus Leadership Howe : is becoming a fwd/midfielder. Disposal/Kicking for goal has improved Grimes : at least he is on the park (sometimes). Born Leader. Changing roles : Blease, Tapscott,Jetta,Strauss,Dunne Good Newies : Terlach,Matt J WIP : VIney,Toumpas,Gawn,Fitzpatrick Backwards :1 Players still demanding the ball when standing still. 2 Players giving it to them 4 Not covering opposition running past them. 3 We miss Jared Rivers
  16. Best ever Melbourne : Flower & Barassi. Best ever : Abletts ( Me & Dad) , Peter Hudson & Jesalenko were sensational, Bruce Doull, Baldock& Skilton , Malcom Bligh Toughest Pound for pound : Dermie !! Unfulfilled talent : Jurrah ( could have been anything , but sadly the chasm has seemed too great)
  17. 6- Garland 5- N Jones (again) 4- Matt Jones 3- Pederson ( got something) 2- Jamar ( best game from him for year) 1- Terlach ( tries and runs)
  18. Against Hawthorn our players had 1000 less AFL games experience than Hawthorn. (Our most "experienced" player was David Rodan). Actually that side had only 100-200 more games experience than GWS . Included in GWS was a Midfielder No 1 Draft pick (arent we missing something ! Now a 4th year player) Look at the impact of Ablett on the development of Gold Coast because on the field he makes them play the way they need to play, but Watson is not available nor is Ablett nor Sellwood, Mitchell et al.). I am sure Mark would have loved to had the luxury of being able to throw the Southern Stand at one of them. When criticising MN , Nathan Jones was a 2 grab player 2 years ago. Look at him now, he is holding (trying) our midfield together. Evans is less than 21 and has missed a year through injury so there is enormous upside to him. As MN has said he has recruited longer term with Toumpas, Hogan and Jack Viney . So we have 3 midfielders (not Hogan) with the potential to be elite Midfielders, plus Trengrove, Grimes,Terlach , Matt Jones. ( I wish I could put Jordie in there just on effort alone !!) Our defence is getting together with Mc Donald,Frawley ,Garland & Terlach . Watts will come good ( Look at Tommy Hawkins) . Our Forward line with Dawes, Clark ,Hogan, "Jumping Jeremy" Howe and the crumbers, Jack W The future does not look that bad it is just a little further away than we would like !!
  19. Leave Kennett out of MFC. Only 10 weeks ago he wanted to sack Clarkson. Joffa wears a ridiculous coat too, but he is at least passionate about his club and not his own self importance.( I probably stand to be corrected on that though !!). Seriously Kennett is only interested in HIMSELF !!
  20. Agree with your sentiments. Some people seem to think that the best footballers are the ones that have not played it ....yet !! Just think back a year when people were putting James Frwley up for trade and look what happened to him !! Nathan J ,Moloney are Hard Ball getters ,so was Brock. It was going to be difficult to fit them all in the team at once (for balance) Problem solved.
  21. dimmy

    Luke Ball

Now this bloke would be a leader in his attitude and what he could bring to the Club. Trade him for the pick number 11 we are getting for Brock and i think we will come out in front. HAving said that ,two things are certain. Stkilda will not take Fevola nor will they let Ball go !!
  22. 700,000 times NO !!! Dont need a [censored] around the place with young people around. Besides : 1: There is too big a gap between when his good and bad (on the field) 2: We do not need him !!!
  23. Point taken on whether we are obligated to Casey etc. It's just that I have become sensitive to : * Anything that Robert Doyle comes up with (hit & miss) * Always wary of AFL involvement because once you are in the Exec of AFL ,you are automatically on the Collingwood,Essendon, Carlton Boards * Costs involved . We are just getting back on song in relation to this matter. * Admit expanding supporter base etc willl-> + $ revenue
  24. What a load of Crap. We have just organised a deal with Casey. How much will it cost us to get out of that ?? Part of a plot to isolate the MCG for use by Eddiewood, The Cheats(Carlton), Richmond & Essendon. Cannot tell me equity is part of the considerationplanning of AFL. Collingwood played 14/22 games on MCG this year, St Kilda 1/22 Read that Channel 9 is bidding (contemplating) on the basis of buying certain clubs games (guess who would be missing out!!) Thank god I have Austar
  25. Hey, he is a human being ,not a piece of ###$%% His efforts may not be up to your perfect standard, but I will bet he has attempted to make it. WHich is probably more than your negative "  ëfforts"
